This review is for Flights Of Fancy, Eagle Heights QLD

Truly a wonderful experience in a shop - Flights of Fancy is a very impressive place - both of our children were mesmerised by the forest lights room, and our son just loved the ocean / under water room. Prices are very reasonable and the service was very good. We missed out on story time, but it looked really good for any family if you happen to jag the right time!

This review is for Capanart Gallery, Mount Tamborine QLD

verified email - 31 Dec 2012

A lovely gallery and a friendly host who talked us through a number of the local artists. The art was varied and interesting for the whole family - we found a nice artist who we are going to contact to get a work commissioned. Really good experience and easy access for strollers (as opposed to some other art places).

This review is for MT Brewery, Tamborine Mountain QLD

The appearance of this microbrewery is very classy, and the service very friendly, but I must admit that the actual taste of the beers leaves a little to be desired - semi-home brewing (such as Brew4U and the like) results in what I think are much better quality (albeit a different game altogether). Then again, you get a fair amount of convenience with the number of brews available here and the friendly atmosphere. Good to take tourists along to somewhere like this - there are a number of other options to try in the same building - cheeses and a fine restaurant.

This review is for Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk, Tamborine Mountain QLD

verified email - 31 Dec 2012

Despite the service and quality of the Mount Tamborine Skywalk, we couldn't help but feel it was a little expensive - approximately $20 for each adult. The service was very good and the structure of the skywalk is pretty impressive. While it may give you a slightly different perspective of the rainforest, there are some equally beautiful places in the National Park that are free of charge. Good for a tourist if you have no time to look around other bits of the National Park.

Approximate cost: $20

This review is for Dutch Bite Cafe, Eagle Heights QLD

verified email - 31 Dec 2012

We visited Mount Tamborine a few months back on a long weekend holiday - seemed like a good idea, but the place was packed (it is very pleasant after all). So we had to leave the main drag (Gallery Walk) to find somewhere to eat - we hadn't eaten Dutch food before, but the Dutch Bite Cafe looked okay. The place is a bit quirky, and the food was pretty average for the mains - nothing too extreme, but okay. The poffertjes pancakes were quite impressive though.

This review is for Simply Sandwiches, Eagle Heights QLD

verified email - 31 Dec 2012

When Darling Son just wants 'a hot dog' for lunch, and we happen to be on our way to Mount Tamborine, we had to find a convenient, quick location with quality food - and Simply Sandwiches was the place we found. The food was good quality - hot dog was consumed without any complaints. The wrap and pie that we had were great - the wrap was massive. The service was very friendly and accommodating and the price was right!

This review is for Cafe Momo, Bruce ACT

verified email - 18 Dec 2012

Living in Bruce, it is hard not to be acquainted with Cafe Momo. I've always wondered what it takes to have official signage to your establishment - for anyone driving near this place, you'll notice that there is said official signage to this Cafe and for good reason. Great service and a really nice setting - this place is fantastic for breakfast on the weekend. Anyone in Bruce or the greater Belconnen district should give Cafe Momo a visit.

This review is for Tuk Chop, Fyshwick ACT

verified email - 18 Dec 2012

You never associate the words 'value' and 'airport' - and Tuk Chop is no exception, but hey, as far as what is actually available at Canberra Airport, this place isn't too bad. They do a great Beef Pho and the rice paper rolls are quite acceptable. It is fairly light food, which is good for air travel. Service is pretty average, but certainly not abysmal. I will no doubt be eating there again in the not too distant future - it is the best currently at Canberra Airport.

This review is for Military Shop, Fyshwick ACT

verified email - 18 Dec 2012

Most people have some links to the military - this shop is a great place if you have any interest in the Defence Force or Australia's military history. There are all sorts of things to buy - from contemporary kit to casual, military-related apparel to all manner of gadgets and stuff. It is quite amazing the number of different items for sale - it is easy to spend quite a small fortune, but it is all good if military is your thing. I have been there a few times in the last couple of months - the service isn't too bad, but not outstanding. Good for a trip after you've visited the Australian War Memorial or if you find yourself in Canberra.

This review is for Minizoo, Coffs Harbour NSW

verified email - 18 Dec 2012

I have used these guys online more than once - their prices are very competitive compared to the bigger toy shops and the timeframes to get the goods to the door via mail is very impressive. Obviously, they specialise in figurines, which my children just love, and the range available at this one-stop-shop makes it difficult to match Minizoo.
