Talk about a quick turnaround on my wife's sewing machine (5 hours), but done on request in a short turnaround given that we're away for the Christmas break. Sewing machine is now running well = happy wife. Will be using this place again in the future and highly recommended out there to all those parents who sew out there.

This bakehouse is an honest, friendly place and certainly met the family's expectations for baked goods. Let me just say that the son and daughter got a little bit more of the sausage roll than I had hoped. It is now surrounded by the Lake George Hotel and Kiwi's Cafe... but these businesses all appear to complement eachother. Great value and is an asset to the town.

This unassuming establishment seemed a little quiet when we showed up yesterday afternoon... it didn't quite look as smart as the Lake George Hotel, but hey, we had the kids and wanted somewhere relaxing. Enter some outstanding service, some wonderful choices for the whole family and apparently good prices.... not 10 minutes later and out come the meals - again with friendly service. My wife and I both got two different chicken burgers and the littl'uns got a toasted sandwich... probably the best food from a cafe that I have had. It was simple, but so fresh, well put together and tasted sensational. This cost us $24 total - unbelievable value and a great time had by the family in this wonderful little town. We will be back!!! I highly recommend this place.

Hyped up as 'ever reliable' and 'great value' by my mates, I thought, surely this won't be a debacle, and it had better be one of the better haunts in Canberra. In terms of beer available, it is, but with variety comes high price for these beers.... really high prices. The food appears good on the menu, but it really is very simple and in my case, it wasn't well executed (Aussie Hot Dog).... I'll still give it a another go on the basis of their beer menu, but I won't expect much out of the kitchen.

The line up for this place didn't really reflect the experience that we got for having lined up for... ordering two separate meals was thoroughly confusing, with two members of staff firing questions about options for the meals simultaneously.... funny for all those other people in the line, but I had no idea! The food itself wasn't too bad - I've had some Mexican in my time, but this didn't really evoke any thoughts of "best Mexican ever".... Not overly different to Zambreros - which was a little disappointing to be honest.

Great location and friendly staff are the highlights of this restaurant - is the food the best Japanese you'll find in Canberra? Not quite, unfortunately. My wife had a stir fried noodle dish, and it wasn't too bad, but it wasn't something that stood out from Wagamama's just nearby.... this place needs to try a little harder to survive.

We haven't found any decent Yum Cha in Canberra as yet and thought we'd try a local restaurant - first impressions of this place were very good. Friendly service and very nice decor. However, things turned from okay to horrendous pretty quickly. 1. Dead fish in the 'live seafood tank' - not a good look and the water quality of all of the tanks was terrible. 2. Cockroach in the next table's bambood steamer!! After the complaint was made, staff tried to convince the family to stay, and then an attempt was made regarding the fact that it was out of the restaurant's control that this insect had found itself in the steamer. I questioned the cockroach when paying for our meal, and was informed that in fact it had been 'only a jumping insect - a cricket'!!! My wife saw a cockroach in the steamer. Regardless, the cashier didn't offer to waive the meal despite our concerns. We now all feel pretty ill at the thought of steamed cockroaches in our dim sum. Horrendous, to say the least.

Paying $27 to give the family a treat... Monkey Mania was indeed maniacal and really underwhelming. Some of the equipment was unserviceable/worn beyond repair/broken, the food was overpriced and average and the service was shocking. Rather than actually serve someone, the staff member allowed us to wait for over five minutes on two occasions while a couple of coffees were made - it was so ridiculous that we eventually gave up. Will not return to this play centre and don't recommend that you even give this a go.

The best Thai food that I've had in around three years, no doubt. Chong Co exceeded expectations on all fronts - the service was extremely professional and friendly, the fit out of the restaurant was impressive; being both modern and very interesting. The food was outstanding, penang curry and the noodles for the littl'uns was brilliant. A bit pricey, but still worth it.

After a bit of a rave review from the brother-in-law, off we went to try this place out. The serving sizes were just massive - and the quality of the food was very good. However, after ordering (in fact about 25 minutes after ordering), it became apparent that a number of the items that we'd ordered were in fact not available any more as they'd run out (of all things, the chicken satay sticks!). The service was poor, simple as that, and this was detrimental to our experience.
