While some of my mates weren't the most impressed, I have to say that the Dickson Asian Noodle House is a great place for fast, quick meals that don't cost a mint. Good, prompt service and despite the name, some really good rice-based dishes also. Big restaurant that doesn't make you feel too jammed in.

This review is for Ginninderra Medical & Dental Centre, Belconnen ACT

We have been to Ginninderra Medical Centre three times - always for our children and at short notice - at all times, the staff have been extremely accommodating in light of the fact that we have young children. The doctors we have had have been quite caring and good with the kids. Wouldn't hesitate going back to this practice.

This is a really well presented and airy shop - surprising for the size of the place itself. The children's clothing is generally very high in quality - we bought both kids tie-dyed shirts for a bit of a laugh. The clothes are great for the kids' imaginations. Worth a look if you are in the market for a gift for that little special someone.

This is a lovely little shop on Gallery Walk - very friendly service and a good range of all things fairy - the kids loved the big toadstools! Service was very friendly and helpful. Difficult to compare to Flights of Fancy - they are both a little girl's dream I think!

This cute little shop was a nice change from the many quirky places along the Gallery Walk at Mount Tamborine. While the service was a little standoff-ish and the stroller didn't suit the size of the shop, the homewares in this shop were really attractive and lived up to the name of Tamborine Living - if only I had the $$$ to own a home in that area! A great place to go for gifts for any houseproud person in your life.

This review is for Windswept & Interesting, Eagle Heights QLD

From the outside, this shop looked really promising - ladies fashion on one side and antiques combined. It can't be helped, but the clothes were probably a little old for the other half - but there was plenty of very interesting and reasonably well priced outfits that mum could wear - particularly good for SE Queensland in summer. The antiques were underwhelming.

This review is for Witches Chase, Tamborine Mountain QLD

Witches Chase Cheeses is a surprise packet - in a very pleasant and vibrant setting, the shopfront at Mount Tamborine is one of my favourite places to go - their soft cheeses are the best - I love the triple cream brie and the 'Tamembert' camembert. The hard cheeses are very nice also - worth the free taste at least. Highly recommended for a visit whilst on Mount Tamborine!

This review is for German Cuckoo Clock Nest, Tamborine Mountain QLD

verified email - 31 Dec 2012

This place is pretty extreme - extreme in the sense of the shear range of size and type of cuckoo clocks out there. This building is very impressive and it reminded me of my grandmother's house (on an extreme scale) where there was one cuckoo clock. Service was okay, we didn't end up buying a cuckoo clock (Mrs wouldn't allow it and it wouldn't go with the decor anyway), but this place was a fun experience for the family.

Despite the range and taste of the liqueurs available, and the presentation of this shop, we were left very much underwhelmed by the service provided. Understandably, there was only one person who appeared to be on staff, but it was a busy Sunday and we were left waiting for some time before being served - it was clear that there was more interest in serving a group of people than us, who collectively would buy more drink than us... Anyway, as I said, the range is good and the quality of drink is good, but the experience itself was disappointing.

This review is for The Handmade Cottage, Eagle Heights QLD

We were a little overcome by the perfume in this shop when we visited yesterday, but the range of handmade gifts was great. As with anything, handmade is always better, but invariably, is higher in price - but we feel it is worth it. Checked out the Shabby Chic corner, the latest addition - a really well put together collection of similar-styled gifts. This place is great for gifts for grandmas I reckon.
