This place always gets amazing reviews and is regularly voted top pizza takeaway on the north side however it has never quite lived up to that reputation for me. The pizzas are decent and there is a good range however I wouldn't call them great and think there are better pizza places. They still do a pretty decent job though and if you would rather not go to a large chain they are a good option

It's a little bit more expensive than the standard fish and chip shop but they make up for it in and quality and the setting. They do great fish and chips with a great range of options as well as extras like fried Camembert and fish spring rolls. It's a great spot for a little bit more special fish and chip outing

The burgers here are absolutely fantastic, so fresh and tasty. They are only new but already getting a great reputation and are definitely in the top 3 in Brisbane. The service is also fantastic, the crew noticed I had the two kids by myself so went out of their way to welcome me and assist me in anyway as well as talking to my daughter. The burgers themselves are absolute stand outs but the chips and dip are also great and they do great little meals for the kids. Do yourself a favour and check this place out you won't be disappointed!

Brisbane has seen an explosion of good burger places lately and this place is definitely in the top 3 along with Da'Burger and Ben's Burgers. They have two stores which both originally started as pop ups. I have only been to the one at Eat Street Markets but the pork belly burger there was fantastic. They regularly have specials and rely on having a small menu but executing it well. The guys running it are classicly trained chefs so they know what they are doing!

There are two fish and chips shop in Blackwood st but I've only tried this one as they have been great each time. The prices are cheap, serving sizes great and fish and chips fresh and tasty. They have a great range of burgers although which I am yet to try but there calamari burger sounds very interesting.

This review is for Trawler Fresh Seafoods, Virginia QLD

verified email - 30 Jul 2014

This is without a doubt the best fish and chips shop on the north side. The fish is always fresh and batter not too thick and the chips are peeled and made by hand not frozen. They are much cheaper than a lot of others also as I believe the owner owns a trawler. My only complaints are they could put a bit more salt on and they shut early around 7 to 7:30 so get on early if you want some great fish and chips.

This money exchange smashed the travelex located in Brookside. The rates are far superior, there's no commission and they offer defence discounts. I wish I didn't waste my energy to compare because they were much better value.

This review is for Sizzler, Mitchelton QLD

Had not been to a Sizzler for years but decided to try the local on our first night moved into our new home. Can't really complain for what we got, it is what it is a decent meal with a good range and cheap if your kids are under 3 as they are free. It does add up though once the kids get older and if everyone gets mains. The salad bar was well and stocked and service was good so a decent dinner

This little American restaurant is tucked out of the way in a residential area but it certainly delivers. They have one of the best cheeseburgers in Brisbane, simple but oh so tasty and when paired with their NY fries it's a perfect meal. They also have great ribs and a good range of US soft drinks. Their wings are decent but their are better places for wings, however hard pressed to find a better cheeseburger or fries.

This review is for The Smoke BBQ, New Farm QLD

verified email - 30 Jul 2014

The smoke is the original American style BBQ restaurant. Although there are now a lot of competitors it is still definitely way up there. It is still the closest place to the buffalo wings I have had it the US and their 3 heat ranges give you a good choice. They have a good range of American staples for lunch and dinner with some great burgers and ribs. They smoke all their meat in house too. My only complaint would be the last time I had pork ribs they were a bit dry, their pulled pork is an absolute winner though.
