I can't rate these guys highly enough when it comes to service.

I broke a tooth not long ago and called to book in for an appointment - courteous, helpful phone call, booked in for a reasonable time frame as I wasn't in any pain.

A few days later I get a phone call - "Wve had a cancellation this morning and since we've got you down for a broken tooth next week did you want to come in today instead?" - WOW! This was unexpected and blew me away.

Due to work commitments I declined the offer and stuck with my original appointment. I was a bit early, but that was okay as the dentist called me through early and fixed the problem.

Now his office is located directly opposite the beach and he has a mirror set up above the chair and angled just right so that while you're laying back getting work done, you look up and watch a relaxing view out the window of the waves gently lapping at the shore.

Stress free dentistry is always good.

Highly recommended.

Friendly service is always on the menu whenever I've stopped in here. The food is always fresh, and they have an awesome crispy beer batter.

They also do quite a few different seafood packs which are good value, as well as selling fresh fish to cook at home and thrown in an internet cafe to boot.

When attending an engagement party in the mighty metropolis that is Snug, we decided that rather than either drive and stay off the the drinks, or pay a small fortune for a cab ride home we'd find some local accommodation.

We opted for a cabin at the local Cabin & Caravan Park. For $85 (about the same or less than it would have cost for a Taxi fare home) we got a cabin that was so well appointed, it would rate as one of best I've experienced.

Spacious, clean, inviting and a very very comfortable bed (quite a handy thing after several Jaegerbombs). This place seems like a pretty good spot to base yourself if you were looking to do some day trips around the South of Tasmania as well.

The hardest thing about this place was actually booking in. Ringing them seemed to be a lucky dip.

I phoned them on Monday to enquire about cost and availability for a cabin on Saturday night. The bloke who answered the phone as about as vague as you can get. He told me the price (which incidentally turned out to be incorrect) and that there was nothing available. I was a little surprised but took it on good faith (perhaps he just didn't want to do the paperwork to book me in).

After going for a drive on Tuesday to see what other accommodation was in the local area, we found not much else so my wife thought she'd try her luck by ringing the park - after all Snug isn't a huge place and it's not what you'd call a tourist hot spot (by that I mean it doesn't have any iconic tourist attractions to bring people in large numbers).

The phone was answered by a different person (a woman this time) who was ultra efficient. She provided us with a couple of different pricing options (with or without a water view - about $15 extra if you take the view), and was able to confirm there was plenty of cabins available (we could pretty much take our pick) and locked it in on the spot. The way a phone enquiry should be.

I'm pretty sure the person at the counter when we checked in was also the same woman. Again, friendly, helpful, efficient and in all an excellent customer experience. Checking out I was served by a very laid back, laconic bloke (who I suspect may have answered my original phone enquiry), as everything had been paid on check in, it was a quick and easy check out process.

Approximate cost: $85

Not the place you'd think of first if you're after your standard piece of flake, a couple of dim sims, and minimum chips.

Chish & Fips caters more for the individual serve with a variety of packs (in different sizes). Scallops packs and the Seafood baskets seem to be the popular choices.

Quality wise they're not spectacular but they're not bad either.

Approximate cost: $10

This was my first human encounter for the day (aside of my beautiful wife that is), so had the potential for three possible outcomes. Be another mundane, ho-hum, run of the mill transaction, be fairly negative and impacting my frame of mind for the next 90 seconds, or set me off on the right foot.

The purchase was for a couple of flavoured milk drinks, so given these are manufactured elsewhere and the business only has the responsibility of keeping them refrigerated, there is little that can be said about the quality.

The value is pretty much in the same boat as the price point has minimal variation across most retailers.

The service, however, was the standout. The chap behind the counter was efficient, friendly and had the sort of happy-go-lucky personality that just makes you feel that your business truly is valued, no matter how small the purchase may be.

Popped in for a relaxing Tuesday lunch and despite having heard good things about the place, was pleasantly surprised.

I ordered the beer battered fish and what came out was pub cooked fish that rates among the best I've experienced. It literally melted in your mouth and they didn't skimp on the portion size, chips or tartare sauce.

My wife went for the wedges, and they too were cooked to perfection and came in a generous serving with plenty of salad, sour cream and sweet chilli sauce.

Review updated 28/06/2010

After much hype from my well respected friends and colleagues, I finally decided to give these guys another go and boy am I glad I did.

It was suggested that I request a special "not yet on the menu" dish that a friend of the owner had told me about so I did. After being grilled (in a good way) about how I knew about this dish and who had told me to ask for it, it was prepared for me but I wasn't allowed to leave the store before I had offerred my opinion on it.

I can say I will definately be back.

Overall the customer service I received was excellent (perhaps the staff that were rostered on that fateful night last year are long gone) and the quality of the food was even better.

Top Shelf!!

There's nothing like ignoring customers to drive business away.

I'd heard some good things about the pizza offerrings from this relatively new business, but in all honesty, I wish I'd saved myself the trouble.

I wandered in to have a look at the menu and place an order. After deciding on what I wanted to order, I stepped forward toward the counter only to have the person taking orders completely ignore me to serve someone who had come in behind me.

Not only did he do this, after taking her order, he proceeded to wander out to the kitchen and still had not so much as acknowledged I was there.

When it comes to service, this is by far the worst I've experienced in recent times.

Needless to say, after that display, I was pretty sure they didn't want my money tonight so I left.

Alas, this means I can't comment on the quality of the food as I didn't get to try it.

I'd heard good things about this place, in addition to what I'd read on WOMOW so thought it was worth giving them a try. And I'm very glad I did.

The small shop was packed, a good sign that the quality is high. The service was very good, friendly, apologetic for the wait time during what was clearly a hectic time of the evening and the final product was nothing short of delicious.

I will certainly be returning for more in future.

Nothing to complain about, but nothing to rave about either.

The staff were (and always seem to be) cheerful and friendly, the quality of the food I've purchased there has always been pretty good (though I did once get a curried chicken pie that had very little chicken in it and great chunks of broccoli) and the place is always clean.

Price-wise they seem to be no better or worse than anywhere else and at least the pies are baked on the premises.

Approximate cost: $3.70 for a potato pie

Popped in here this morning for some cow juice and the first thing that hit me was the overwhelming fishy smell. The odour was more reminiscnent of a fishmarket than a take away store.

This is possibly due to a higher than usual stock level in preparation for the Easter weekend but it was certainly a turn off.

The lass behind the counter was friendly, offerred fast service with a smile and certainly did nothing wrong.

Quality and value are had to rate as I was purchasing a pre-packaged product, with a pretty standard price point.
