This review is for Barossa Supermarket, Glenorchy TAS

This place is probably a bit ambiguously named. After all, it's more of a corner shop with Take Away food and a fairly good variety of grocery lines (at corner shop prices).

Having said that, today is Good Friday so of course the real supermarkets are shut, yet I was able to pop in, get bread, cooking oil, a newspaper and of course everyone's Easter favourite hot cross buns with a minimum of fuss.

It's clearly a family oriented business as I was served by the owners kids who were obviously there to help Dad out. Whilst they were understandably not the fastest to process the transaction (needing to check prices with Dad etc), there were friendly, polite and it was actually a pleasure to be served by them (as opposed to the mindless teenage drones that are so often found in major chain supermarkets).

Would I do all my grocery shopping there? Not a chance
Will I go back for those quick stop items I need when I can't be bothered dealing with massive queues and parking snarls for 1 or 2 items - Most definately.

In this instance I'm rating the customer service aspect of Centrebet. It would be too easy to go on a rant about what I've lost betting on the bloody Manly Sea Eagles - I mean how many reigning premiers go 0-4 to start the season? (see, now you got me started).

Anyway, back to what Centrebet CAN control. I had cause to send them an email this morning enquiring about when a particular market was to be settled (the result had been decided some hours beforehand). Within 20 minutes, I had recieved an email response (not an automated one either) for a customer service rep who advised she would forward my query to the appropriate department.

Within 5 minutes of receiving this email, I logged in to my account again to find the market had been settled.

Outstanding customer service.

Popped in at the weekend for a quick lunch on the run. Grabbed a chicken sub with gravy. Nothing spectacular, but in no way the worst feed I've ever had.

Pricing was fair and some of their chicken packs look good too.

The woman behind the counter could do with some encouragement to actually serve the customers rather than go through the motions. You're lucky to get 3 words out of her, let alone a smile.

This review is for Westnet Pty Ltd, Subiaco WA

Have been with Westnet as our ISP now for about 2 years. What won us over was actually a word of mouth referral.

My father-in-law was contacted and offered Broadband internet as part of a government scheme for rural Australians. He accepted and was fortunate enough to be dealing with Westnet.

My wife and I were recruited to assist in setting up the computer and getting hooked up and found that the customer service and tech support was by far the best I've experienced. Short wait times, call backs when promised and great product knowledge. All this on Boxing Day to boot.

Shortly after we decided to ditch our antiquated dial-up and go with broadband ourselves. We contacted Westnet and found the service was just as exceptional the second time around.

I've since contacted them on a few other occasions for various reasons and always had the same, excellent, service.

This review is for The Wicked Cheese Co, Richmond TAS

Whenever we visit Island Markets we always make a point of popping in to Wicked to pick up some cheese. The service from Jennifer is always exceptional, a free tasting is always on offer and of course the cheeses are fantastic. Truth be told I've been guilty of suggesting a trip to the market just to stop in for some cheese.

Specialising in soft cheeses (Brie & Camembert) all made on the premises, however, if you prefer your harder cheeses, then Wicked also stock a good variety from other quality cheesemakers.

It's also a nice place to sit for a coffee or an ice-cream after wandering around the market.

Highly recommended.

This review is for Peter's Fish 'N' Chips, Frankston VIC

verified email - 04 Apr 2009

Peter and his family have been running this business for years. Always friendly, happy for a chat to regular customers and fish & chips that is the best I've experienced anywhere.

Whenever I'm back in the Frankston area, I always try to ensure I have a feed from Peters.

Stopped in on the off chance I could save myself a trip out tomorrow morning and was pleasantly surprised to find I was a walk up starter with no appointment.

The young lady who served me was friendly without being too "in your face chatty" and seemed to know exactly what I was after before I even spoke.

My only criticism (and it is a small one) would be that the scissors she was using weren't the greatest (though she did apologise and explain that her good scissors were recently stolen and she was awaiting replacements) so there were one or two snips that seemed to grab and pull rather than cut.

The end result is a haircut I'm quite happy with considering the rough head she had to work with.

This review is for The Cheesecake Shop, Glenorchy TAS

Stopped in tonight on the way home to see what was on offer for dessert and decided to partake in one of their baked marble cheesecakes.

The service felt a little rushed, possible because it was about 15 minutes before closing time, and when asked for advice on what might be worth a try, there wasn't a whole lot of thought or enthusiasm provided.

We made our purchase (and no sooner were we out the door than the staff member looked to have begun the process of closing up shop early) and headed home to sample a slice.

Cutting the cake was not much fun, in fact it was arguably the worst I've experienced when it came to easy cutting. It seemed to have been refrigerated a little too long or at the wrong temperature so the cake stuck to the knife making a mess of it. I wonder if she'd started packing things up too early and the cake should not have been so cold. I dunno, I'm not an expert, just a consumer who ate mangled cheesecake for dessert.

I stumbled on this website almost by accident on another site (Rewards Central). What drew me to it was a reference to getting a free fuel voucher. Sweet. Something for nothing is always pretty good and fuel isn't cheap these days.

Having a read of the promotion, it sounded interesting and then I moved on to explore the rest of the site before I joined. You've probably guessed by now that I actually found enough to like about the site for me to join and have barrelled through a stack of ratings.

Fiona must be pretty sick of getting emails from me by now, but she has been nothing less than brilliant in assisting with my many and varied queries.

Will I recommend WOMOW to others? Hell Yes.

I had a query from someone at work today who was looking for details of a Pizza place near our office when she saw me head to WOMOW to see if I could find the one she was looking for. It wasn't there, so of course I suggested she join, and rate it so others can benefit too.

Their catch cry is "Fast food doesn't have to be junk food!" and fast is right. No matter how busy they are, the staff at Praties Derwent Park are able to get your order out FAST and accurate.

The staff are very efficient when making their baked potato creations (a variety of hot cold toppings abound) as well as always being friendly and helpful.
