This review is for Mr Stonebowl, Burwood NSW

verified email - 25 Feb 2017

Mr Stonebowl is in the opposite direction of Westfield's on Burwood road & you won't miss it as there is always a line up of people waiting to get in at lunch time on a weekend. Mr Stonebowl is a Taiwanese Chinese restaurant serving up some delicious food. We tried the pork, lightly crumbed and deep fried, then dusted with plum powder, pineapple fried rice and Mongolian lamb.
We'll be back here to try out some more of their food, especially the Deep Fried Eggplant in bread crumbs & dry garlic and Singapore style barramundi, as I have read a number of very good reviews about these 2 dishes.

This review is for Chocolates Del Mondo, Burwood NSW

verified email - 25 Feb 2017

I have been at Chocolates Del Mondo twice and have mixed experience. This place seems to be pretty quiet most time. My 1st experience was pretty good, with coffee and pancakes, service with strawberries and bananas server quickly. The 2nd time I visited Del Mondo wasn't so good. we ordered the Caramel Chocolate Waffle sundae, a pineapple fruit chill drink & Fragoloso (coffee with ice cream, whipped cream & strawberries), which was a bad choice. We found a fly in the coffee & saw a cockroach run across the counter. The waiter forgot our dessert & was actually mopping the floor whilst we ate.

This review is for The Usual Cafe, Cabramatta NSW

verified email - 28 Sep 2016

So glad to have a Café in Cabramatta that offers delicious food and a decent coffee. I've tried their baked eggs and sausage with crusty bread, which was nice & filling. They also do a fabulous cheese burger with a side of popcorn mixed with rosemary, which is a must try.
I'm definitely coming back here for more of their food.

This review is for Erashi Japanese Resturant, Ultimo NSW

verified email - 03 Aug 2016

Erashi is a small and cozy Japanese restaurant with affordable priced sushi, hotpots and Japanese curry. I decided to have the large sushi & sashimi mix, which had several pieces of salmon, tuna, 5 pieces of sushi and some crab stick rolls. Overall, the sushi plate was nice, but simple. I think i might come back and try their hotpot and curry, which has cute Panda shaped rice balls.

This review is for Dulcis Domus Italian Resturant, Ultimo NSW

verified email - 03 Aug 2016

I love Italian food and saw some posting of Dulcis Domus food, which looked amazing, so I thought I'd give it a try. The restaurant was very warm and cozy and the staff were friendly. We ordered the Fettuccine Crab & Lamb Shank to try as lamb is one of my absolute favourite meat. The Fettuccine Crab port was quiet small and there was hardly any crab. It was very salty and lacked the flavour of the garlic and chilli that was in the dish. The Lamb shank was slightly better as it was flavoursome, but the lamb needed to be cooked more so that the meat fell off the bones and the potato mash was a bit boring.
Overall Dulcis Domus was ok, but just lacked a wow factor in the flavours of these 2 dishes.

This review is for Burger Project, North Ryde NSW

verified email - 14 Jun 2016

The Burger Project has recently opened at Macquarie Centre, so we decided to give it a try. We had the Aussie Burger, the Chilli Cheese burger and some chips with sichuan pepper salt. The beef patties were very tasty & moist and the salads were fresh. I thought the burger buns were a bit too sweet and not much different from the MacDonalds. Although the Chilli burger had jalapenos in them, there wasn't really a chilli kick to call it a chilli burger. Finally, the chips needed more crunch but the sichuan pepper salt made the chips more interesting and tasty.

This review is for Maranello's Woodfire Pizza Resturant, Concord NSW

verified email - 14 Jun 2016

This was my first time at Maranello's Woodfire & Pizza restaurant. The restaurant has a nice relax atmosphere and the staff were all very nice. We ordered the Mixed dips for starters, which was Woodfired pizza crust served with 3 dips (olives, roasted capsicum and vinaigrette fresh capsicum and onion dip), this serving was very big but delicious. We also ordered the Gamberi Napoli (King prawns cooked in napoletana Sauce with garlic), starters size and the Vitello Funghi (Thinly sliced veal cooked in creamy sauce with mushrooms).
All 3 dishes were fantastic and the servings were generous. I'll be back for more of Maranello's food.

This review is for The Olive Resturant, Harris Park NSW

verified email - 19 Mar 2016

This was my first time at The Olive Restaurant. The place is clean and comfortable with an outdoor seating option and the service is nice.
For dinner, we decided to try the $50/person set menu which included:
Greek Salad
Tzatziki Dip
Mixed Lamb & Chicken Souvlaki (2 of each for 4 people)
Taramosalata
Eggplant Dip
Pita Bread
BBQ Haloumi
Lemon Potatoes
Baked Lamb
Spiced Sausage

Overall the meal was nice and there was so much food that there was take away for the leftover. The Chicken Souvlaki was really delicious. I was excited about the baked lamb but was disappointed after the first bite as it lacked seasoning, flavour and really needed a sauce.

Approximate cost: $60

This review is for Mai Viet, Redfern NSW

verified email - 19 Mar 2016

Mai viet is a newly opened Vietnamese restaurant, with a bright and clean atmosphere. The owners are a young couple and very friendly.
It was our first time here and we tired the clay pot stew fish and a pork and prawn salad with various Vietnamese herbs. The flavours were nice but, could do with an extra kick of seasoning for that Wow factor. They even have a daily $1 desert special that changes on a regular basis.
definitely give Mai Viet's a try if your in the Redfern area.
