This review is for Toro Japanese Resturant, Marrickville NSW

It was my first time eating at Toro and the experience was a great one. I had one of their Bento boxes for lunch, which included some salmon sashimi, a spring roll, panko prawn, salmon sushi, tuna rolls, stir fried salmon (you could also select chicken, beef or katsu) with rice. I also ordered a dish of Takoyaki (deep fried octopus puff with mayo sauce), which is one of my favourite Japanese snacks and they were so delicious. After my meal they even served me a complimentary dish of mixed fruits.
Our waitress was very nice and provided great service. I will definitely come back here to try some more of Toro's food

This review is for Blackcow Dessert Cocktail Bar, Canley Heights NSW

Blackcow is a new trendy dessert bar that has a club feel but filled with yummy desserts. Their chocolate soufflé with vanilla ice-cream and strawberries (aka Volcano) is divine. There's a wide variety of dessert for those with a sweet tooth, such as Gelato, make-your-own Magnum's, churros, dessert pizzas and cocktails/mocktails.

This review is for Canton Cook Chinese Restaurant, Cabramatta NSW

The Canton Cook Chinese Restaurant has recently opened and has been very busy. I had dinner here and ordered the Fried rice with chicken and salted fish, fried prawns in a salted egg batter and stewed pork hot pot. The entire meal was simply delicious. They also have noodle dishes (eg. Stir fried noodles or with soup), congee and stir fried meat and vegetables with rice.
I highly recommend coming here for your next lunch or dinner

If your craving Korean food, then QuoTo is a good place to get your cravings sorted. I would recommend coming here before the Midday lunch rush as it gets very busy and all the tables fill up quickly. From the hot dishes, I have tried their spicy seafood noodles and BBQ spicy Octopus with rice, which are really delicious. If your in a rush, they also have to inexpensive, but still yummy, Kimbap (Korean sushi) or potato noodle salad.

This review is for Totoro, North Ryde NSW

verified email - 29 Aug 2014

Totoro has a great selection of Bento boxes that are great value and the boxes are very full. The only negative with the Bento boxes is that sushi rolls in the boxes are warm to keep the other items in the boxes warm.
If you want a freshly made meal, they make a really good Udon noodles and soft shell crabs with rice.

This review is for Baroque Bistro Patisserie, The Rocks NSW

verified email - 28 Jul 2014

Baroque has a real rustic feel is its decore and as you walk into Bistro, your eyes are greeted with the amazing looking pastry's, cakes and macaroons.

It was my 1st time at Baroque and my friends and I had fabulous lunch. They had a good selection of cocktails to choose from and I highly recommend the French Martini. For lunch we had the Black Truffle Cheeseburger with fries (which may look small but it was very filling), Eggs Benedict and the Charcuterie plate (cured meats served with house pickles and crusty baguette). There was also a Chicken liver parfait which look really delicious but, unfortunately they were all out. The food was all very delicious and the only negative was that service was slightly slow as I could see drinks and food that were ready but had not been served.

Although their desserts looked amazing, my friends and I were all to full for any desserts, but we will be back to try more of Baroque's food.

This review is for Rhodes Phoenix, Rhodes NSW

verified email - 20 Jul 2014

This is one of my two favourite places to come for Yum cha with my friends. Rhodes Phoenix is very busy on the weekends and your most likely to wait 30+ mins for a table, so I do recommend getting there early (probably before 11am). If you have 10 people, then you can make a booking but there is a 2hr seating time slot.

All their dim sims are fresh and flavoursome. I'm usually not a big fan of the BBQ pork buns when I go to Yum Cha, but these surprisingly nice here and not overly sweet. The salted fried squid was quiet nice too. The only negative I found was the size of some of their dishes are now smaller, such as their stir fried noodles and the caramelised beef strips.

The Mango pancake is one of the favourite desserts for a number of my friends and I love the mango pudding.

This review is for Green Peppercorn, Fairfield NSW

verified email - 20 Jul 2014

Green Peppercorn is located in The Fairfield Hotel and is modernly decorated with a Tuk-tuk and bird cages. Although this place has a modern look and feel, they do make some really yummy authentic Lao and Thai food.

Our meal began with some fruit shakes which is a make your own shake with a selection of 3 tropical fruits with is blended into a thick smooth drink. They also have a good selection of beers and cocktails. For our main meals we ordered Soft Shelled crabs (which was so good), chicken green curry, seafood pad kee mao (a spicy stir fried noodle) and some Lao sausages.

Unfortunately my friends and I were too full for desserts, but a lot of the other patrons there did order this giant size ice cream sundae and the fried ice cream also looked delicious.

If your coming here for dinner, I do recommend you arriving early as it does get busy (even on the weekdays).

This review is for Igloo BBQ Restaurant, Cabramatta NSW

verified email - 07 Jul 2014

igloo is a Vietnamese BBQ restaurant that has all you can eat BBQ for dinner. It also does set breakfast meals with the choices of eggs and sausage, bacon and sausage or just eggs with toast and mushroom.
I came in to try lunch and tried their Vietnamese noodles lunch special for $7.50, which you could choose from their vermicelli noodles with a tomato based soup (Bun Rieu),egg noodles with a choice of chicken, seafood or mixed meats, or the pork and rice noodle soup. Since I came with friends we ordered one of each of these noodles to try. We found that the soup was quiet sweet and luke warm, which wasn't good on a cold day.
They has some steak combo which ranged from $9 for normal steak with chips and salad or the Wagyu beef combo for $12.

The decoration of this restaurant was mostly white with bits of blue and snow stickers which made you feel really cold in winter and they so needed to put the heater on.

The mixed style of food options in igloo is just confusing.

This review is for Xi'an Noodle House, Sydney NSW

verified email - 04 Jul 2014

I stumbled upon Xi'an Noodle House looking for a place to have lunch and thought I'd give it a try when I saw lots of people eating here and thought it must be good. Well that was my mistake to make such an assumption. When ordering your food here, don't bother to ask the waitress for an opinion as your enquiry will be ignored.
I ordered the Xian Pork Pancake, which turned out to be very salty shredded braised pork in a flattened toasted bread bun. Not sure why they called it a pancake when its a bread roll, so that was disappointment number 1.
I also ordered a seafood and tofu clay pot, which had barely any noodles and lacked flavour. The vegetables in the clay pot seemed to be a mixed of vegetables that you would have in your fridge and everyone eating noodles there seemed to have the same mixture of ingredients, aside from the protein choice.
I would not come back here
