I was new to this area and tried two other excellent cafes nearby but this is the best. After two visits they remembered me by name! Very quick service for cafes to go or drink there. There is a fast food to go or eat in but I just love going there for the nice people, friendly conversation and excellent coffee. Even the young man making the coffee will talk to you. No wonder that every time I go in they are rushed off their feet!

I visit Doyles about once every two years I sometimes think it is "very expensive" Fish and Chips.I visited on Monday with some overseas' friends. I was totally amazed by the experience! The welcome was very professional and friendly. Considering it was pourring with rain and a horrible day the whole restaurant looked bright and welcoming. The young lady took us directly to our seat and apologised that the view was not very much to see as it was raining so much. The table was well placed with what would have been a wonderful view of the Harbour had it not been raining! The waiter, Matthew, was polite and non intrusive giving us excellent service and attention.
On a wet and windy day with a full restaurant the first course was served very quickly and without having to wait too long the main course arrived. I couldn't believe how efficiently the food was served and, indeed, how good it was. I'm not a fish and chips' fan but was very impressed by the quality of the food. The dishes were really colourful and well presented, hot and tasty. The texture of the fish was really soft and crunchy on the outside with a real flavour of the sea. We were not in any hurry and the serving staff were not hurrying us a long to clear plates or rush into the next course.
This was a very successful and pleasant experience for nmyself as my friends were happy and impressed by the setting, location and quality of the service and the food. Having been here many times before and bneen slightly disappointed by the quality and price of the food, I was very pleased and surprised this time round.
An excellent almost five star performance by this wonderful restaurant.
