This review is for Werribee Open Range Zoo, Werribee VIC

We visited this zoo with family after being told this zoo was better than Melbourne zoo. How wrong that person was!

We decided to go on the bus tour on arrival and was really disappointed with how far the animals were from the bus, although the commentary was quite good. After the tour we decided to visit animal enclosures, but was again disappointed as most of the animals were in hiding. Probably because they'd been feed at the earlier shows which we had missed because we were on the bus tour.

Will have to try Melbourne zoo next time.

This review is for North Lakes Tavern, Mango Hill QLD

The tavern recently have started serving cafe style coffee in the morning. Being a coffee addict I decided to give this place a go and was pleasantly surprised,

I've had better coffee elsewhere, I must admit, but a soy latte for $3.50 is great value! They also have a loyalty program - buy 6 coffees and get your 7th one free. They also open before 8 in the morning which is very convenient for us early starters.

I saw advertised that they have $6 breakfast on Saturday and Sundays, so will have to give that a go!

Approximate cost: $3.50

This review is for The Complete Basket Case, North Melbourne VIC

I needed to send a 'Thank you' gift basket to a relative and came upon this online website per chance.
The variety of gift baskets available was incredible. It took me half an hour to pick the one I eventually ordered. The family I was sending the basket to have 2 family members who are gluten intolerant, so I was really glad to be able to order a basket which included items they could eat.

I think what impressed me the most was that even though I ordered the basket late on the Wednesday before Easter, it was still delivered the next day.

Approximate cost: $70

This review is for The Hotel Windsor, Melbourne VIC

Booked a stay at The Windsor through lastminute.com and got a fantastic deal. A nights stay was about half the normal price.

The hotel is beautiful. We were really impressed when we were greeted at the front entrance by a concierge who took our bags to our room. The room was very comfortable, although the airconditioner wasn't working as well as it should have been.

The only criticism I have is that the fridge had an awful smell, probably because milk that had gone off had been spilt. Otherwise, our stay was perfect.

Approximate cost: $168

This review is for Salamanca Fruit Market, Hobart TAS

verified email - 21 Mar 2013

This place was handy to out motel whilst holidaying in Hobart, so decided to stock up on some fresh fruit and vegies on a rainy day. I expecting to have to pay through the nose because of close proximity to CBD, but was pleasantly surprised with how reasonably everything was priced. Everything was fresh and well displayed in a clean and spacious shop.

There was also a good range of locally produced wine, jams and soaps, but they were a little on the expensive side.

Would definitely prefer to shop here than the local Coles or Woolies. Staff were friendly as well.

This review is for Doctor Coffee (Salamanca Place), Hobart TAS

After reading the reviews on this place, I expected something better. Coffee was not hot and tasted average. Service was pretty slow considering how many people were waiting. Visited this coffee shop whilst on holidays and found it more expensive than my local coffee shop.

Approximate cost: $4.50 or regular cap

This review is for J J's Bargain Centre, Redcliffe QLD

If you're into sewing, this is definitely the shop to visit. They have a fantastic range of materials, cotton, buttons etc. at really low prices.
However, the store is very untidy and it can often take awhile to find what you're looking for. The staff aren't very friendly either and not very helpful if you have questions about your sewing project.
If you've got the time and patience to find what you're looking for, this place is definitely good value for money

This review is for CBD (Coffee By Dibella), North Lakes QLD

verified email - 20 Feb 2013

I cant speak highly enough about this place. Their coffee is hands down the best in North Lakes, and I have tried just about every coffee place in North Lakes shopping centre.

They have recently introduced a gelato bar, which is a touch expensive. However, if you can get a hold of 'The little book of food offers' there is a free kid-size gelato with every coffee. Bargain!

What I love most about this place is that, unlike most coffee places, they cater for those of us who are lactose intolerant. They have zymil, soy and low-fat soy milk available for just a little extra.

This review is for Bucks Bakery, Landsborough QLD

On the way to Montville, we called in here to pick up bread rolls for lunch. I couldn't believe how busy this place was considering how small a town Landsborough is.

We got served very quickly as there was 4 people serving, but I wouldn't say the staff are very friendly! They have some lovely cakes and pasties, but everything is very expensive. $10 for a bee sting and 80c a bread. Very overpriced!

Wil try a bakery closer to home next time!

This review is for Matilda Fruit Barn, Glass House Mountains QLD

I visited this fruit shop of the system home from Montville, and had very high expectations. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the quality of the fruit on display. They had pears and passionfruit which were rotting, which really made me question how fresh the rest of the fruit was. The store was not air conditioned and didn't have any fans, which made it very uncomfortable on a very hot day.

We left with only a pineapple in hand, which should have been fresh as there was a pineapple farm next door! Won't be returning!
