One of the nicer upmarket cafes situated at the upper end of Marrickville, just next to the train station. Loads of daily specials on the board outside with dishes like homemade soups and zesty pastas. Has a trendy feel about it, and it's nice to sit outisde enjoying a meal in the sun if the weather's good.

This is a really cheap, good value for money shop, if you go in for a $6 lunch special. One of the most cheapest eats in Newtown. I was really happy with the food, there's plenty of meat and vegies. I wonder how they can serve up such great food for $6.

This review is for Sushi Train, Newtown NSW

Nice restaurant with lovely Japanese food. Its a novelty to be able to pick your food as it goes past. One thing I found disappointing were the handrolls for $4. There was hardly any rice in it, and I think it's better value to go down to the other sushi shop on King St if a sushi roll is all you're after. But, dining in is an enjoyable experience.

This is a cosy, family, country style restaurant, serving scrumptious pastas and meat dishes. Recently, they've improved the interior with paintings, so a pleasant dining experience is assured.
I found the prices to be very reasonable indeed. The service is of a high standard.

This review is for Pho 236, Dawes Point NSW

The food here is delicious. Lots of variety, and a menu that is mouthwatering. One of my favourites is the crispy noodle and seafood combination. Excellent food, I think they should upgrade the decor so that it matches the food- it's not worthy of the food! The interior gives the impression of a inferior dining experience when in fact, quite the opposite is true.

I've been going here since I was little. My favourite is the chips with chicken salt and the snack pack with fried chicken. More healthier options are the tasty roast chicken or the variety of roast vegetables and salads. Great, homemade style food, this shop is good value for money and an outstanding takeaway shop.

This review is for Thai Times & Nine, Newtown NSW

I found this shop to offer inferior quality Thai food in comparison to other Thai shops in Newtown. While the price is cheap, if you go for a lunch special, the food is not so great. Hardly any meat, and heaps of big chunky vegetables. I was pretty disappointed as I could have cooked it myself.

This review is for Izote Mexican, Newtown NSW

Tasty, Mexican food with generous servings. I went at night time, and the atmosphere was cosy and romantic with candles. Great service and lovely staff. While the food is around the $17 and 3up range, it's the dining experience is well worth it.

The food here is nice, simple pastas and meat dishes at reasonable prices. You can get a tasty pasta for around $10 if it is on the specials board. Happy hour is also great value, where you can get a drink for $5. Trendy, funky cafe with lots of outdoor seating.

This review is for Happy Chef Chinese Restaurant, Newtown NSW

This place offers tasty Chinese food. The decor is not so great, very simple dining tables and chairs, perhaps not the cleanest, but great food nevertheless. I had a beef fried rice which was great. A long while ago I had beef in black bean sauce which was a bit salty. Overall, a bit expensive, compared to some other cheaper eats in Newtown, but the big portions might explain the cost.
