I just noticed this recently opened restaurant, so I decided to give it a go a few weeks ago. I had an assortment of Tempura, which was delicious. I absolutely adore Tempura, and this place does it well. With nice, modern decor complete with Japanese art (by memory there is a print of Hiroshge's 'The Wave'), I highly recommend an eat in at this restaurant.

I came in here for a late lunch one weekday, so I had the place to myself as the lunch rush time was over. I was served by an extremely friendly waitress who went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. The restaurant is quite large with good seating and has a cosy feel to it. The food was a disappointment though. I had the pad Thai noodles which looked delicious and colorful enough, but they were bit too oily for me and didn't taste like an autentic pad Thai dish - I have attempted a better pad Thai at home, and I am a terrible cook. At $7.50 ( you can get cheaper Thai elsewhere in Newtown), this is not the place to go for nice food.

I came here once to have my hair cut with layers. A very friendly lady cut my hair and chatted to me. She was very professional, constantly showing me what was being done to ensure that it was done to my satisfaction. (though I think I did end up with hair a bit shorter than I would have liked). The salon itself is good, very professional and I was served pretty quickly. In my opinion, though the cuts are a bit pricey here.

This is a great little place to dine in, with a relaxed atmosphere. The walls are filled with traditional art and decorations, so it's an authentic Thai dining experience. The food is fabulous too, particularly the red duck curry which I found to be very exotic, with a complex taste. The staff are friendly which is lovely to see.

This is a spacious cafe, always busy with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The decor is funky and offers an inviting atmosphere. I love the feel of this place. I used to drop by when I had my visits at nearby RPA. The food is modern and tasty. I've tried a few of the pasta dishes which were colourful and yummy.

This is a fantastic place which offers both ice cream and pizzas. I've only had ice cream here a few times, and it is top quality stuff. The coconut flavoured gelato is highly recommended, it has a distinct, wonderful flavour to it. With lovely staff and a modern interior, it is delightful to dine in.

This is a really big restaurant with heaps of seating. This is great if you are dining by yourself and want some space and privacy. I've been here a few times, and I've found the food delicious and tasty, you can even smell the aroma of curry just walking past on King St. A favourite of mine is the butter chicken. The only downside to Tamana's, in my opinion, is that it's a little bit pricey. From memory I got a very small plastic container of curry for around the $8 mark. (with Naan)

This is a sweet little pizza shop located on the lower end of King St on the way to Sydney university. I've been here once and tried a gourmet proscuitto pizza which was around $23 for a family size. The pizza was tasty and fresh, I loved it. Thumbs up, I would recommend this to anyone looking for top quality pizzas.

This is a funky little salon in King St, Newtown. Very professional service, in a sleek salon. I had my son's hair cut for $15, which is a great price to pay for a great cut. We were very happy and the staff were friendly. Excellent value for money.

The food offered here is of good quality and very tasty. There's lots of traditional Vietnamese dishes to choose from- my favourite is the Vietnamese pancake. I found the staff extremely friendly. I love this place because of the low prices for the good food you get. The place to go if you are looking for a casual, relaxed meal.
