We were here on a busy Saturday for Yum Cha and the place was busy as! Lots of full tables, hustle and bustle. We were hungry and had to wait 20 minutes for a table. The ladies with their trolley filled with delictables quickly arrived and we ordered lots of steamed dumplings - prawns, seafood, garlic and chives, garlic and prawn, fried dumplings, steamed asian greens and salt and pepper calamari.

We found the dumplings were good, great with dipped with chiili sauce. The mango pancakes and jelly were clear winners with my kids.

Overall a good experience, we didn't have to wait long for food, although asking for some forks for the kids took awhile, after a second request. They arrived! Will return but will definitely come earlier to avoid the queues of busy lunch rush hour!

Who doesn't love Yum Cha? When we are in Westfields Parramatta we make sure to have Yum Cha Here. Located next to Event Cinemas on Level 4, it's a convenient location making it easy to access the train station as well. Try and come before lunch rush hour or you will need to wait about 20minutes or s depending on how many diners you have with you.

Decor is lovely, kids enjoy being seated near the windows so they can look at the trains and people walking below. Food os what we come for. A few of our favourites are the dumplings - steamed, deep fried but most importantly prawn ones both kids love! The fried noodles, siu mai, steamed asian greens are just some of our favourites and the mango pancakes. Delicious!

We've always managed to get the food we like from the ladies trolleys. Waiters have always been prompt with drink service and requesting forks for the kids.

Phoenix have other locations such as Rhodes, Manly and Castle Hill just FYI.

Love coming here for Yum Cha. Have never had a bad experience and will return.

This review is for Outback Steakhouse, North Strathfield NSW

Outback Steakhouse is an American style Restaurant located in North Strathfield located near AMF Bowling just off George Street. We've dined here a few times and have always had an enjoyable experience, even when we dine with the kids. We usually call ahead and try to reserve a table in advanced but being only the four of us, we were seated within 15 minutes of arriving.

The waitress sat us down and handed us the menu's and returned with mini colouring books and pencils for the kids. This kept them busy whilst we ordered the " Bloomin Onion" $10.95 , basically a whole onion carved until it looks like it's slowered, and deep fried, served with spicy onion sauce, garlic loaf $4.95, the grilled salmon with veggies $26.95 and the ribeye with mash for $30.95. You need to order sauce for $2.95 extra as it doesn't come with sauce for the steak - mushroom is nice here! We ordered the kids some chookaburra chicken fingers which came with a drink and chios for $8.95 each and two cokes for $4.95 as they are bottomless ( free refills). The bloomin Onion was a higlight for the kids, they loved it! We enjoyed the food - salmon was grilled perfectly - not overcooked and steak seared nicely as well. Our waitress was prompt, friendly and food brought to the table after 20 minutes.

Overall a great experience and will return!

This review is for Superbowl Chinese Restaurant, Cabramatta NSW

Superbowl is a Chinese Restaurant which opened last year and it's quite a busy Restaurant and it's located right next to Tan Viet Noodle House on John Street. Inside is quite large with the tables and chairs seated quite close together, with plain white/ beige walls and simple tables and chairs. We ordered handmade noodles with chicken, deep fried white bait with spicy salt ($22), pippies in XO sauce (market price per kg), scallops with snow peas and vegies ($23.50), steamed rice and fried asian greens and some deep fried ice-cream ($5.50) for the kids to share. Food came out not too long after, was good but not the best I've found compared to other Restaurants we have eaten at. Staff are hit and miss too, most don't speak English and mainly Vietnamese by the sounds of it but lucky Mum was there to interpret. It does get very busy, with lots of families, older grandparent clientele and some younger teens.

This review is for Tuong Lai Vietnamese Restaurant, Cabramatta NSW

verified email - 20 Jan 2014

I'm always on the lookout for great Authentic Vietnamese restaurants that serve great food. Tuong Lai is one of these places! It's a little Restaurant located in those small alleyways just off John Street. Going inside you notice the menu is written on the wall in Vietnamese but lucky my Mum was with us to order and interpret, but the waiters do know enough English to work out what your trying to order otherwise! I order the grilled pork dish accompanied with pork mince, steamed egg, shreds of pork skin, pickled carrots and cumcumber slices with broken rice. Comes with a dipping sauce and complimentary soup. The spring rolls are cripsy and lovely here served with the lettuce and asian greens and the dipping sauce. Mum likes the marinated beef served with tomato rice, sliced cucumbers and some green shallots. The tomato rice looked bland but a bit of sauce on top, fixed that.
Food was good and brought to the table quickly, this place does get quite busy and I noticed a small queue forming, but the turnover is quick, you wouldn't wait more then 15- 20 minutes to be seated. Will return!

This review is for West Juliett, Marrickville NSW

verified email - 20 Jan 2014

On my brother's recommendation we tried West Juliett for breakfast. Not being much a bacon and eggs person I opted for the French Toast which came with luscious, soft ricotta cheese, rhubarb, salted caramel sauce drizzled on top of two pieces of toast, was delicious and so worth the $13.90 price tag!! So not like your average french toast that you make at home! The coffee is not too bad here either, love the iced coffee with vanailla ice-cream and two shots of coffee for $5.90! Just the kick I need to start my day! We also get two kids shakes for $3.90 each ( choc flavour). Hubby had the breakfast plate with a poached egg,leg ham , avocado, tomato , toast and some cheese ( think it was like a provolone/ italian cheese). It was a good portion for him and kept him full. We got the kids toast with vegemite and peanut butter for $4.90.

There are also lots of baked and fresh goods on offer, such as cookies, pastries and muffins all made on site. My daughter loved the pink salt choc chip cookies, who can stop at 1?

The cafe is busy, quite popular during lunch times especially on Saturdays. Lots of bright lighting, lovely decor, tables are close together but not too cramped. Great cafe, friendly and efficient service, will return the french toast is amazing!

Approximate cost: $13.90

This review is for Kam Fook Chatswood, Chatswood NSW

We came for Yum Cha recently but unfortunately during busy lunch rush hour. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, the place was packed! Restaurant is quite spacious, lots of room and quite modern and clean. We had the usual things we order dumplings, both vegetarian and prawn/ seafood varieties, honey soy chicken , steamed asian greens, salt and pepper calamari, sui mai and for the kids afterwards, jelly and mango pancakes for dessert. Food was good and piping hot, but considering how busy it was a good experience. Located inside Westfield Chatswood on Level 6 and not too far from Chatswood Station if your thinking of coming in by train. Will make sure to arrive abit earlier next time to be seated quicker! Great place for Yum Cha in the Chatswood area.

This review is for Chatime, Cabramatta NSW

verified email - 17 Jan 2014

Chatime is an asian tea franchise that offer cold, hot and refreshing iced teas made to your liking and sweetness. Lots of varieties , flavours and toppings to choose from.We stumbled upon Chatime whilst heading towards the ATM last night. We had a buy one get one free coupon and decided to use it, considering the extreme heatwave in Sydney yesterday. I opted for the Matcha Green Tea with red beans for $5.50 ( large size) and the kids shared a Grape Tea (free) - normally $5 (large size) . We opted for no toppings but you can choose pearls, red beans, etc for 50c for 1 topping or 80c for two toppings of your choice. Store is just a small hole in the wall establishment, no seating available - so you just order at counter and pick up from there as well. The two staff members were quite chatty and were amused by my son playing with the plastic straws. Love the drinks here!

Approximate cost: $5.50

This review is for AJ's Family Butchery, Wetherill Park NSW

Located next to Supa IGA inside Market Town Shops at Wetherill Park, I often come here to grab some sausages or mince for dinner. The sausages have a nice flavour which both my kids enjoy and we often grab the 2kg " Aussie Thin" variety for $15 and their premium beef mince as well. The sausages are made fresh on site and the staff are friendly and warm. They also have a spit hire option - perfect for your next function or BBq. Lots of parking in front or behind, you can get in and get out quick!

Approximate cost: $15
