This review is for Skip Bins Online, Old Toongabbie NSW

verified email - 03 Feb 2014

Skip Bins Online is basically an online booking and hiring service of skip bins Australia wide at cost effective prices. We hired an 8 cubic metre bin from them due to arrive last Saturday but they suprised us an it arrived a day early to clear our yard of excess scrap, building materials and household furniture that was no longer needed. The driver who delivered the skip bin was helpful, friednly and gave clear instructions on what was allowed in the bins etc. He delivered a 9 cubic bin as they had no 8 cubic metres skip bins available which was even better for us, as we had more things we needed throwing out then we thought. A $4.40 booking fee and $813.40 was the initial costs.

We were pleased with the service and general hire of the skip bins and will definitely be using them again if needed, in the future!

This review is for Total Scrap Metals Recycling, Villawood NSW

verified email - 03 Feb 2014

Total Scrap Metals Recycling is based in Villawood and they come and drop off a skip to you and you fill it up with your scrap metal, copper and steel. We used this service last month as my Dad has been collecting so much scrap and metal, it needed to go. We found them via a google search and ordered a skip for the next day. They said they would contact their driver and Ibrahim arrived the next day with the skip. He was very polite, courteous and gave clear instructions and tips on what metals would be better suited ( money wise) and left my Dad a magnet to see which bits of scrap he had would stick to the magnet in order for it to be allowed to be placed into the skip for collection. We rung them the next day for collection and my Dad was rewarded $200 for his skip load. He wanted more, but we were just happy for the scrap metal to be gone. I collected the money on my Dad's behalf from their depot at Villawood from Sam ( the owner). He was a friendly man and we are using this service again tomorrow.

This review is for 7 10 Split Bowling, Fairfield NSW

verified email - 01 Feb 2014

7 10 Split Bowling is where the old AMF Bowling Centre used to be. Now here they have laser skirmish, a restaurant/bar area, cater to kids birthday parties and also include bowling as well.

We were here today for a kids birthday party. The birthday parties start from $19.90 and thats for a game of bowling/ laser skirmish, party bags, food for the child - nuggets and chip meal or hot dog and chip meal, party host and two tokens for each kid to use in the game area.

The party host was nice and all the kids enjoyed their game of bowling and games at the party. I've come here with friebds before for a game of bowling. Prices start from $14 a game and are cheaper if you have a concession card or have 10 people or more ( like we did ) and it cost $10 per game. A great place to bowl, pizza and wedges are pretty good here, friendly staff, definitely will return!

This review is for Sweet Belem, Petersham NSW

Having lived in Marrickville a few years ago, we'd often frequent this tiny little bakery for their great coffee and delicous and creamy portugese tarts! Behind the glass counter at Sweet Belem they have an array of assorted goodies to entice the eye but I'm only here for the tarts at $3.50. They are alot pricier but they are delicious, creamy and you hear that real " crunch" of the flaky pastry upon biting into them! Heaven and well worth the price tag!

Approximate cost: $3.50

This review is for Marrickville Pork Roll, Marrickville NSW

This tiny hole in the wall dishes out some of the nicest pork and chicken Vietnamese style rolls in Sydney! No matter what when I'm here, so is everyone else. They always have queue's. The pork rolls are $4, chicken rolls are $4.50 and the salad rolls are $3.50. BBQ pork rolls, pork skin rolls and meat ball rolls are also $4. It's a great lunch option and the roll is like a meal itself, both satisfying and filling!Add a bottle of water for $1.50 and your set!!

The great thing about this place is they always stuff the rolls with lots of delicious filling, I love the chicken rolls stuffed full of BBQ chicken, coriander, pickled carrots, shallot, cucumber and sauce. I always ask for two chillis as I find them spicy! The flavours were delicious and loved the fact the bread roll was fresh and crispy upon biting into it!

Definitely worth the drive over! I could eat this everyday!

Approximate cost: $4.50

This review is for The Eight Modern Chinese Restaurant, Haymarket NSW

Who doesn't love Yum Cha after a spot of shopping inside Market City? The Eight caters just for this. The Restaurant is quite big and is always busy with hungry diners. But it doesn't take long for the ladies and their trolleys laden with goodies to arrive at your table, ready for your selection.

We always order the usual suspects: prawn har gao, dim sums, vegetable and seafood dumplings, fried asian greens, fried prawn dumplings, prawn toast and my kids fave ham sui gok ( combination dumplings that look like little footballs). Mango pancakes, jelly cups for the kids and egg custard tarts always help finish the meal off .Food is delicious, piping hot and fresh, just the way it's meant to be!

Overall a great place for Yum Cha in the heart of Chinatown and the Restaurant is located on Level 3 inside Market City. Always busy so try and come before busy lunch rush hour!

This review is for Gelato Messina, Darlinghurst NSW

On a friends recommendation we find ourselves at Gelato Messina and let me tell you , was worth the drive over! Everything is made fresh and using natural and raw products, which means no nasty stuff like flavouring, colours or additives involved so your tasting the best flavour possible in their divine gelato, cakes, pies or brownies on offer. And their sorbets are full of fruit, fat free and dairy free too , which is fantastic for the waistline!

Every week they have about "6 special flavours" in their cabinet. We tried the coconut bounty and it was delicious! They also have take home tubs with amazing flavours like coconut, mango and lychee sorbet, italian nougat and tiramisu and vanilla and chocolate fondant! There are many different flavours and combinations to rack your brain with and they all look amazing!

There was a queue when we arrived but it took us about 10 minutes to place and pay for our order and the gelato and sorbets are divine! Would recommend!

This review is for Tay Do Chinese And Vietnamese Restaurant, Canley Heights NSW

verified email - 29 Jan 2014

Tay Do is a Chinese and Vietnamese Restaurant located on Canley Vale Road. They have different banquet menu's for diners of 4 such as lobster and peking duck included. We just stopped by for lunch and ordered spring rolls for $7 ( 6 of them), beef pho noodle soup for $12, haianese steamed chicken with chicken for $10 and vietnamese style pork chop with rice for $10.

Food didn't take long to come out from the kitchen and the food was tasty, clean and left us satisfied. Just like any other Chinese Restaurant we didn't have much interaction with the waiter only to take our orders and bring our meals. Although he kept patting my son's head, he seemed friendly.

Will have to come and try the banquet menu's next time. Overall a great dining experience and great for lunch. It does get busy during lunch times, but the wait is no more then 20 minutes.

This review is for Baroque Bistro Patisserie, The Rocks NSW

I'm a huge macaron lover and Baroque definitely has some delicious tasty ones. When you step inside you are definitely looking inside the open plan patisserie kitchen where you see the patissiers create the show stopping cakes and macarons, you see on offer!

They have their famous macarons, cakes, tarts, desserts, pastries all made on site and coffee, tea or wine to enjoy with them.

They also offer " Macaron Masterclasses" where you can learn the skill of perfecting these delicious babies!

I love the dark chocolate, salted caramel (my fave) and blackcurrant macarons. They are $3 each to dine in or $2.70 for takeaway and come in boxes of 5, 7, 14 etc. I opted to dine in and had those 3 macaron flavours I mentioned before with coffee for $12. Was delicious and a great place to relax after a busy morning wandering around with kids at The Rocks.

I definitely recommend Baroque for all you dessert lovers! Will return!

This review is for Master Chef Dim Sim And Food Co, Cabramatta NSW

When I'm in the mood for different types of dim sum (whether they be fried or steamed in the big bamboo steamers), delicious barbecue pork buns which are made fresh daily, filled with tasty barbecue pork encased in a soft bun. Delicious!

Great place to come for snacking on the go! Doesn't compare to your normal Yum Cha places, but a great alternative! Have been a regular customer for some years now!
