I have to say that the view is lovely and the decor very easy on the eye, if not on the ear. It is very noisy in there due to lots of hard surfaces and few soft furnishings.
We have dined here before and found the experience excellent in every way but today disappointments far outweighed delights. We were there for Sunday lunch, and the rule is that one must have a main and either an entrée or sweet, or both.
Firstly, the waitresses were very attentive and pleasant, and the complimentary bread was warm and fresh, so I have started with the good stuff. But...
Our tabletop was vey unstable, so that we feared for our drinks.
The tasting platter entrée, although impressive to look at, was quite sparse at $36 for 2 people. The stuffed zucchini flowers were delicious, as was the lamb soup, however the soup was so big that those who had it didn't need a main!
The veal scallopini was a unique take on a classic dish, so some were surprised and a bit put off, but others really enjoyed the dish. The 3-fish lasagne was also commended. But the 'lamb chops' dish, at $28, consisted of two BARBEQUE chops, with a tiny dish of coleslaw and 5 fat chips. Pretty steep! The pumpkin pie main course was just that - $28 for a pie, and not a very attractive pie, in the middle of a plate. At least it tasted OK.
The wines are hideously expensive per bottle. It is cheaper to buy it by the glass! (House made wines only)
We saw 2 of the desserts - the Crème Catalan, which was as described, and the pear and macadamia tart, which looked nothing like the menu described, but tasted good anyway.
The coffees were good and there was a complimentary 'rumball' for each diner.
In all, don't expect to get what you imagine from reading the menu. It certainly wasn't 'fine dining'-style food, and the overall food presentation comes nowhere near what one would expect from a winery restaurant in the gold section of the Entertainment Book.

The only place to eat on the ground level inside the complex - the others are upstairs at steeet level.
They have tables in an alcove which is a bit more peaceful than out amidst the throng of shoppers.
The food is priced as you would expect and there is a reasonable variety.
The service was not too slow, but the place was only half full when we ate.
One standout was the fruit salad. It was fresh, colourful, tasty and not that expensive. It comes drizzled with yoghurt dressing so you need to say you don't want it if it doesn't appeal to you.
I would eat here again if I went back to Brand Smart, but that isn't very likely as there isn't much there in the way of real bargains.

The food was as expected, and pretty much as described on the menu. One of our group had a steak and said it was done just as he had asked for it.
The wait staff were helpful and friendly and the kitchen staff seemed to do a good job of getting all the food out at once for each group.
The decor is appropriate for the type of restaurant that it is, and there is a kid-friendly room.
The music was hideous and very loud, but on request the waitress had it turned down to a bearable level. The noise came from video clips which were shown on multiple television screens around the restaurant. I would have preferred to not have to look at the antics of the people on the screens, but they were on every wall. I was there to have lunch with friends, not watch video clips.

These guys cater for specific functions eg lunches put on by reps. They don't do weddings, according to their website, and it looks like they don't have somewhere to sit and eat.
I was at a function they catered and the food was good quality. There was a good variety: sandwiches, wraps, a pasta salad, rice paper rolls, sushi, fruit kebabs, several kinds of sweet treats, and good quality mineral water in several flavours.
They brought plates, forks, cups and sauce for the rice paper rolls, and catered well for those with special dietary needs. The fillings in the wraps were interesting too, not just chicken and salad: things like mexican beans and salad, and a spiced chicken couscous filling among others.
The sweet treats comprised several flavours of friand, and a variety of slices, which were all very rich and delicious: gooey caramel slice with a wicked slab of chocolate on top, lemon slice, apricot crumble slice, choc walnut brownie, and an oaty seed slice with dried fruit in it. Yummy!
I wish the reps that visit my workplace could bring this kind of stuff to us, but we have a food supplier with a monopoly and, alas, it has cornered the market on boring food.
BTW the stars for value were just a guess because I didn't pay for it.

My worry was that parking would be difficult but there was plenty.
We were attending a work "do" of about 60 people and they put us in an area on our own, curtained off from the rest of the customers. It was very nice. We had our own, friendly wait staff, who made sure that the water jugs on the tables were filled up at all times - we never had to ask.
We had a three course set menu, with share platters for entreée and dessert, and mains were chosen individually from a list of about ten things.
For $37 a head we were stuffed to the gills!
The food was good quality, and each table of about 20 got their food all at once. The chefs did a really good job with that. The parmas were good, the lamb souvlaki was very tender and delicious, the fish was huge. The oil they used for the chips tasted fresh. Everyone seemed very happy with their meals.
They were very generous with those amongst us who needed their food to be gluten free.
I haven't eaten here before, but they are in the Entertainment Book so we might just have to give them another try on our own!

The menu here is standard for a city cafe (sandwiches, foccaccias, baguettes, etc, but the fillings they offer are quite numerous, and they also do Belgian waffles.
The cafe has a French ambience (pardon the pun) and the staff are friendly and will help you to practise your French if you so desire.
Every other person in the cafe, when we were there, was a repeat customer. The staff seemed to know what each customer wanted, how they liked their coffee, etc.
They have WiFi and are in the Entertainment book.
We had waffles this time but might try one of their gourmet baguettes next time.

We saw a lot of meals come out and they were all well presented.
The beef curry was delicious, very tender and just as described on the menu.
Unfortunately the caesar salad didn't live up to previous experience, with very little in the way of prosciutto and only two croutons. The chicken we asked for as an extra was quite dry.
The fillet steak looked great, and on request was served with a selection of mustards, quite generous portions.
There are a lot of other things on the menu that we would like to try, from entrées through mains and salads.
We didn't see any desserts, but they sounded yummy. Maybe next time!

We only saw the lunch menu today, but there was plenty to choose from. Our group had: a pizza, and there was plenty of topping; the fish special, which was small but enough for lunch but accompanied by a trendy salad; a burger, which was huge, with yummy fries, and the risotto special, which was really delicious. All of these were cooked perfectly, and the only problem was rectified immediately and well ( one of the pieces of fish was not hot).
We tried a couple of the desserts, all of which are housemade, and they exceeded expectations.
The drinks were all acceptable, although the black coffee was too strong.
Service was good, it's open all the time because it's near a cinema, and it is in the Entertainment book!
We will go back soon.

We only had a morning coffee here, but coffee is one thing they pride themselves on. I saw our coffees being made, and the barista wasn't happy with the ones she had made for us. They disappeared and a second lot were produced. Very smooth they were, too.
It is a tiny little cafe and would be very crowded with a dozen or so seated customers, but given the attention our coffees received, I feel sure that the food would be delicious also.

In such a cosmopolitan setting as Lonsdale St Dandenong this cafe had an appeal that drew us in. The decor is trendy, and the menu offers what promises to be delicious food. I was not disappointed. My salad was just the right size for its $13 pricetag, and just lovely. My friend's bagel didn't look quite so generous, and it was presented with no garnish whatsoever, which was a little disappointing.
The waiter was friendly enough, and the young woman at the coffee machine had a friendly smile. She made a great coffee.
I would go back there on another trip to Dandenong, but I wouldn't go to Dandenong just to eat there!
