In such a cosmopolitan setting as Lonsdale St Dandenong this cafe had an appeal that drew us in. The decor is trendy, and the menu offers what promises to be delicious food. I was not disappointed. My salad was just the right size for its $13 pricetag, and just lovely. My friend's bagel didn't look quite so generous, and it was presented with no garnish whatsoever, which was a little disappointing.
The waiter was friendly enough, and the young woman at the coffee machine had a friendly smile. She made a great coffee.
I would go back there on another trip to Dandenong, but I wouldn't go to Dandenong just to eat there!

Approximate cost: $13

After reading a review in Epicure and hearing some great things about the new "inner city" type cafe right in the heart of Dandenong we decided to give it a try. We were very disappointed. We were not disapointed with the decor; the decor is fantastic and very inner-city. And the coffee was wonderful. However the service was somewhat lacking. The customer service was appalling. The waiter did not smile or make us feel welcome. I tried to make conversation but was brushed off. There is no point in having a beautiful cafe if you have a bad attitude and don't like your customers. I don't think we will be going back anytime soon. We will find somewhere a little less trendy but where we are made to feel welcome.
