This review is for The Mocha Shop, Ballarat VIC

This is a must visit if you go to Ballarat. It's a cafe, chocolate shop and collector's haven all in one. The shop is in a couple of sections - up one end is the serving/eating area where they make wonderful coffee and teas, and sell cakes, sandwiches and foccacias. Then there's the lolly/chocolate section where you can get bulk bagged lollies of all sorts - especially those hard to find favourites you had as a kid. They also have a range of imported USA and UK sweet treats like my favourite Reece's peanut butter cups. And also novelty items like giant Pez and Star Wars mints. So many amazing things that no-one else stocks (wish they were in Melb!) like Harry Potter Bertie Bott's beans. You never know what you can find in here. And it's all delicious and you want to spend up big, believe me.

Then there is also the window display with the most exquisite china figurines and miniatures you've ever seen - animals, tiny dishes, fruit and veg, character tea pots. You can't leave without buying one of these pretty things as a memento of your visit long after you've eaten the fudge and fairy floss!
They were very busy and it's not hard to see why. The layout is a little crowded to get from one end to the other so watch out you don't "accidentally" collect a few more items on your way to the register.
A definite highlight of the day.

What an interesting and delicious shop! As well as having wonderful melt in the mouth flake and nice old fashioned chips, there is a fascinating wall of "retro" to read and look at while you're waiting with record covers and old newspaper advertisements etc.

Maybe it's a ploy to keep you coming back but they don't need it. Our food was wonderful and well priced too at min. chips for $4 and flake at $5.50 each. When we unwrapped there was actually one more than we'd ordered because one was a little on the small side - but who does that these days?

There are value packs available and all sorts of interesting menu items like garlic chicken balls. A very pleasant young man served us and asked for choice of normal or chicken salt. We enjoyed our meal in this lovely regional town of Ballarat. They're open six days a week, only closed on Sundays.

They may be small, but they make up for it in huge quality of their baked goods. Bread and rolls are yummy - and freeze beautifully to be enjoyed on another day and just as fresh. The pies and sausage rolls are tasty, filling and hit the spot for lunch time and the nutella doughnuts and other sweet treats like peppermint slice are just to die for. Very friendly lady and quick service. Every time I'm down this way I'll be dropping in.

On a school holiday outing we stopped here for lunch. Bit of a luxury to have fish and chips for lunch, but whatever ... This awesome shop is staffed by some young and up coming people who are providing a quality service to the surrounding area. Not only do they have mouthwatering pizzas and fish and chips, but souvlaki, great coffee and home made cakes.
Not to mention the wonderful milkshake we also had - you don't see spearmint very often so we HAD to have one. Not a great combo with the fried food but none of us get car sick (not for a while anyway).
Chips were thick cut and fish was generous size. Our order was over $50 and the young lady kindly threw in a large bottle of drink as well.
Would certainly recommend.

I was in need of some lunch on the run and stopped at this complex of shops. Red Rocks is on the Epsom Road side at the bottom of the supermarket carpark. They have a nice clean shop with seating inside, a good clear menu board and friendly staff. I had the chicken roll with mayonnaise for around $6.90 which I thought a little high for one item. Comparable items were schnitzel burgers etc.

Also have lunch time specials packs of pieces of chicken or burger and drink for under $9. But it was very nice and in fact, I couldn't eat it all because it was quite a large size. If you lived in this area, I imagine this would be your go-to place for a well cooked chicken to take home for dinner when in a hurry.
Would recommend stopping here.

Great little shop - little only in floor space and not quality of produce. They have a delectable array of pies, pasties, sausage rolls and the usual lunch time fare, plus many sweet treats to tempt you. All look "home made" with quality ingredients and the sausage roll I had was very large and flaky pastry just melt in the mouth. Also have stunning "occasion" cakes which would rival any top of the line birthday or party cake specialty business. Located right in the entrance foyer of this mini shopping centre and supermarket, Ray's is certainly a place to go. Just a matter of choice - which yummy treat today?

During a working day I needed some quick and tasty lunch and chose this place from a few offerings at this modern shopping centre. The staff were pleasant and attentive and the prices pretty good - $5.70 for a large fried rice etc. I also had some honey chicken and some dim sims. Total price around $14. But I wasn't so pleased with the eating experience. The rice lacked in vegetables and egg and was rather salty which is unusual for this dish. The honey chicken was rather chewy. Dim sims were tepid - barely warm at all. I like hot food served hot.
Maybe I'd give them another go? Had some other menu items too and plenty of drinks.

I will definitely be coming back here. Wish they were closer. We had a night without the kids, although it's a perfect place to bring families. Lots of tables which can be made bigger and plenty of space for prams etc. Warm and welcoming with brick walls and wooden furniture.
Staff were pleasant and attentive, water offered and menus straight away.
My husband had a large pizza say family size really, it was huge! And delicious and they swapped some ingredients for him. I had a creamy pasta with extra ingredients and once again, I ended up taking a full container home. Very nice and such good value.
Highly recommend.

My friend and I were slightly at a loss to choose from the Korean menu, although everything looked wonderful. We went with familiar for the Boneless Korean Fried Chicken. We got the main for $11 and it was very nice. It came with not only chicken, but wedges and salad. It was enough to fill the both of us, a lot of people were also ordering it, so I think it is very popular all round. I also got the Sac Sac which is under Korean drinks and was $3 and It was delicious!

Staff were very nice and food came out quickly. It was a small shop with a lot of customers, but didn't seem crowded and noisy.

I would definitely be back if was wanting Korean food. Open everyday from 11.30 to 10.00 or 11.00 pm.

Want some old fashioned service and value? Then bring your car with electrical problems here. They're a family business and have been here for many years, really take an interest in helping you fix your car and don't try to rip you off. We had a problem with our Ford headlights and dash display and they were able to replace the light for much cheaper than a Ford service centre would, plus got us a second hand part to get the rest working. And the turnaround was only one day. Excellent workmanship and really nice people.
