This review is for Ross St Milk Bar, Port Melbourne VIC

Situated in a pleasant residential area in Port Melbourne, this little Milk Bar/Convenience store does pretty good business, I'm sure. It certainly got me out of a pickle one day when I was working near by to get a house ready for viewing and found there was no toilet paper to be found anywhere, as well as a few other essential items which had been overlooked.
With very little time and not much knowledge about where a bigger supermarket could be found, I drove around the streets to come across this life saver! They had everything I needed - a range of kitchen and bathroom essentials along with the normal array of snacks, lollies etc that this sort of shop carries. The lady who served me was very helpful and pleasant.
If you're in this area, make sure you drop in and get yourself a treat.

I have nothing but praise for this wonderful Law Firm. They have helped us, going above and beyond with a claim involving a Government Department. The paperwork has been long and tedious and the staff there have been understanding, caring and supportive. Communication has been through email, phone and face to face interviews.
They have a couple of different offices and this one is nice and close to us with parking just around the corner. They actually make you feel that your case is worthwhile and that you matter, unlike other legal professionals I have dealt with. Special thanks to Heather and Elizabeth.

Let's face it, most of us are time poor. But when it comes to our animals, we want them to have the best, right? If there was one word to describe this on line shop it would be Speedy! Sometimes I have the time to visit all my local places but often I just can't make it to the vet shop in business hours and that's where Pet Circle really shine for me. They carry not only all the other wonderful stuff you can buy for your pet such as toys, collars, pond pumps and worming paste but they also sell the special Vet-only diets which one of my recent cats now requires.
This is the special Hills diet which can only be got at a Vet and to find it available for me to order when I need is magnificent. They do have a disclaimer which you agree to, that your vet has prescribed this particular food, which is fair enough.
And so quick!! I can order at night and it's there the morning of the day after. So I know I can always have the special diet available without having to find time to visit the vet. Plus it's actually cheaper. $24 at the vet for a box of Hills Sensitive, and $21 from Pet Circle. Shipping on orders over $49 is free.
They cater for dogs, cats of course and also fish, birds, reptiles and small animals. All products - Royal Canin, Black Hawk, Advantage, Hills Science etc plus tips and info. Think they also do a price match.
Just can't recommend them enough! But of course, you should see you vet first about any special foods. But Pet Circle have everything you could get from other pet shops too for normal diets etc.
The website is great, just check it out and you'll be dying to order from them.

Amazing, quirky, fun, unique, funny and sensational! Just a few words to describe this place. It has a range of homewares, gifts, artist work, museum souvenirs and just plain crazy and one of a kind things. From renowned artist works to funny teatowels, to corn cob stools, rude mugs, just anything and everything you never expected to find. If you can't choose a present for someone here, there must be something wrong. Lots of different price ranges but of course, unique stuff isn't cheap. But so worth it for the wow factor. Great staff dedicated to what they sell.
You must go and see this place and I guarantee you'll come home with something you never believed existed.

This review is for Bird & Exotic Animal Clinic, Williamstown VIC

Yes, there are several vets in the Williamstown/Newport area and I have visited most if not all of them. But this new clinic has a very important and special difference - it is not a dog/cat vet. This place is for special and exotic species of birds, reptiles and animals. Wonderful news if you have a turtle, parrot or in our case - guinea pigs. Because believe it or not, most "normal" vets are not experts in all animals. And instead of travelling a long way to get to another specialist (which of course, we do because our animals' health is important) we can now have a very close option for care. Already we've attended here with one of our piggies and will be going again as we've just discovered something we want checked out by a professional.
The place is well located, ideally set up and has great hours for visits - Weekdays: 08:30am – 6:00pm
Sat: 9:00am – 4:00pm
Sun: 10:00am – 2:00pm.
Cost was maybe a little more than a regular visit, but it's the convenience, the expertise and the lack of travel time which is well worth the smaller extra cost. We spent about $100 for a consultation and post-operative check.
The two awesome vets - Dr Jaclyn Gatt and Dr Glynnis Lam are both highly qualified and experienced.
A big thumbs up from me.
Oh and one heads up - new clients will be given a huge form to fill in with every single detail about your animal and the habitat you keep it in, so be prepared to spend about 15 mins filling this in.

This review is for Habitat Pet Supplies, Altona North VIC

This new pet shop has just opened at this location in Altona North. It used to be a car accessories shop so it's very roomy and open. I have many pets so I was interested to check it out. They have a very wide range of merchandise for pets of all types - not just cats and dogs. I was able to buy a very interesting collapsible tunnel for guinea pigs which I haven't seen anywhere else for $14. So they have some unusual items as well as all the main things you expect like food, beds, leads, toys, cages etc.
Also have a dog wash area and a membership programme which gives you a discount. The staff member I dealt with was very helpful and took my name and number down to help with an inquiry I had about something.

I would highly recommend this place for pet owners as I feel like they tick all the boxes.

I finally got to try the food from this restaurant after going past for ages. We got two different take-a-ways to try - Rojan Josh (lamb) and Tandoori chicken, with saffron rice and some garlic naan bread. It was all great, and we really enjoyed it. The meat was tender and well cooked and in generous portions with the sauce. The chef asked what spice level I'd like - mild, medium or hot. I went for mild but I reckon I could handle the medium next time. Prices range from around $10 to $12 for each dish and there are many to choose from. There is a sit down area, but it appears not to be used much. I'd recommend this place - food was good and staff friendly.

This review is for Flinders Fish And Chips, Flinders VIC

I have no idea why the other two reviews are talking about vanilla slices from a fish and chip shop ... maybe the business has changed its stock or management since 2012. They are a take away food shop which offers icecream as well. In a right angled group of shops on the corner of Cook St - no 5 to be precise. There are outside and inside tables and chairs and a wide variety of food of this sort to be had - souvlaki, wedges, hamburgers, steak sandwiches etc.

We had been visiting local spots like the lighthouse and so what better than to sample the fish - a touch expensive at $6.30 each, but the redeeming feature was the very kind and honest owner. He pointed out to me that instead of separately ordering 6 flake, chips etc, I could get a family pack for $40 and just add two extra fish. This worked out to be a good saving, so kudos to this guy.

Large chips was generous, fish well cooked and the batter just a little tiny bit too crunchy for my liking but not oily at all. Sitting at the cliff top with the seagulls and a magpie waiting for the crumbs, eating this meal was a great experience.

This review is for Hicks Shoes, Altona VIC

verified email - 19 Jul 2016

I've been to Hick's at least three times this year with varying needs for shoes in the family from proper sporting footwear, to "going out" shoes, to good, strong walking shoes and each and every time we've come home with a quality pair of shoes which fit, look great and are destined to last and wear well. The staff here really take personal service to another level and go out of their way to find out what you want and make sure you're happy. Especially good talent with children. Certainly not cheap but compared to buying 3 or more pairs of "bargain" shoes which are a compromise and don't last, it's the best option. The old saying "you get what you pay for" describes this place exactly. The range is great for a small shop and they always have a reduced table out the front as well.

Dogs and sometimes even cats can sit still for a photo, but guinea pigs definitely cannot. After being continually frustrated by trying to take our own photos of our piggies, we called on Peter to work his magic with them. We had two family groupings taken and then a panoramic shot of all of them together. Behind the scenes there was much squeaking and eating and repositioning but the end result was amazing. I would recommend Peter's skills to take some excellent photos which really capture the personalities of your pet. The studio was conveniently located as well. We were then shown a host of photos from which to choose our final best ones to be printed. There was a choice of backdrops and also some re-touching involved. Peter handled it all with humour and commonsense. Very happy with the results.
