I Purchased a scoopon for 3 Haircuts , blow dry treatments in 3 months. Expires 16 Oct. I called to book as soon as I got the voucher and told cant get in for 6 weeks. Well there goes my 3 haircuts in 3 months, why bother selling vouchers if you can fit the appointments in. Luckily Scoopon refunded my money.

Corcorz Hair Salon at Southbank offered a Scoopon for 'Deluxe Hair Package' a few months ago and had my appointment today. I am VERY happy with the RESULT however the entire 'experience was not enjoyable. My hairdresser did a great job listening to me and cutting my hair the way I asked and then did the colour exactly how I asked too. She didn't however speak one word to me the whole time she cut and foiled my hair. Then I was conned into paying $60 for a toning treatment! Since when does a toning treatment cost $60????!!! I normally get this for $20!!!
After my hair was washed and toned I was left sitting for 15 minutes with wet hair!!! The whole ordeal took 2 hrs 40 minutes for what normally takes me about 1 hr 30 minutes.

Just a few other comments:
The hairdresser next to me made a very loud protest at the request of another client. Saying that what she wanted would look horrible and generally making the whole salon aware and embarrassing the poor young girl client. The girl stuck to her guns and said that she really wanted it done that way. To which there was more loud protesting and then the hairdresser went and got the manager who AGAIN VERY loudly made it known to the ENTIRE salon that this girls request would look horrible. She then made a big drama of saying 'well then if that is what you want' and went to mix the colour. In the mean time the hairdresser worked on the girl telling her it would look horrible - so much so that the girl said fine do what you want. The manager then came back with the mixed colour and said 'tough I have mixed it now so you have to have this'. Really really bad customer service guys.

Another thing - the hairdresser and the manager looked like they had just rolled out of bed and not even brushed their hair. One of them had regrowth about halfway down her head that was light brown and then gold frizzy ends. Sure didn't inspire me to go back.

I wouldn't go back if they paid me!!!

fantastic experience! I have to confess that i was expecting the worse after reading other people's reviews, however this was not the case and I cannot understand how they had their negative experience, unless they did not read the terms of their vouchers! My Hairdresser listened well, was friendly and experienced. I was never pressured at any time to buy extra services. I can truly recommend that you give this top notch salon a go. Carol , the owner seemed like a very reasonable lady from my conversation with her. Just make sure you read your voucher carefully and do not expect extra services- you are already getting a wonderful deal!

Must be a friend of the owner/manager because the lady I saw was not reasonable and treated EVERYONE badly.

People do read vouchers they buy. This salon appears to treat vouchers owners are second class citizens.

DON'T DO IT! Bought my first discount voucher for Corcorz, did not receive what was on the voucher. I was suppose to get a 1/2 head of foils but the hairdresser said he wouldn't do it, made up some story that my hair wouldnt take the colour. When I asked him to try anyway he said no. Asked another hairdresser there later if I could get foils to which she said, "yes, definitely". I later went home and looked at my haircut, it would have to be the worst haircut I have ever had (and these guys are suppose to be the best). One side of my head had nice layers, the other side literally had two lengths; one long and one about 2-3 inches shorter. Not only did I get a shit haircut but it took him an hour to do it because he wouldn't stop talking and kept leaving the room, very unprofessional. I went back the next day to get the haircut fixed, I received attitude from the manager and said I needed an appt. I said I had not free time as I work full-time and study part time, she said well there is nothing she can do. I said well I didn't expect to have to make another appt because I waited 4wks to get my original appt for a haircut and foils to which I only got a shit haircut. She then went and spoke to the owner; who very rudely said that there was nothing she could do and that I could sit and wait for hours if I wised. I am of the belief that if you don't like serving people that you shouldn't work in customer service. I was never offered any compensation for the lies the hairdresser told me about foils and I ended up getting my haircut fixed by a REAL professional salon. I think the only reason they do these coupons is to get the money and make sure they give the client a shit job so they don't come back.
I urge all people who have had the same experience with this business and vouchers to complain to the voucher company so that they can't advertise these dodgy deals anymore.

I bought the voucher in good faith and when I arrived there the place was packed and there was no room in the waiting area. I was seated half an hr after my booking time.

I had a voucher for a cut and color and they wanted 150 mour just to color my hair in one solid coloyr. I expected to pay a bit more as I have long hair but not 150 dollars more. (Guggenhein charged 50 more.)

I asked to see my voucher again for clarification and the owner started verbally abusing me. She did a big tirade and finger pointing in the face. She also went back to her customer and started bagging me in earshot of everybody.

The hopeless assistant manager stepped in and I said that I did not appreciate the owner lecturing me in a bullying condescending tone.

The bullying owner accused me of "not reading the terms and conditions properly" and said (whilst bending over me sitting down with her mean face in my face and a pointy finger out, that I "needed to grow up".

I asked them to "just do the cut as I wanted to leave".

The side kick manager also had poor customer service skills and I walked out.

I wish I had read all of the negative Google Reviews first.

I was shocked at the dressing down I got.

I think the owner is used to having to 'do battle' with her customers and the staff seemed unphased.

Worst ever from this 'upmarket salon'.

I am sorry you received such a bad experience when you went to the particular salon. As an owner of a salon I can see no excuse for your treatment. Most salons are full of hard working friendly staff and management. Don't let the bad ones spoil your experience.

I wish I had read all the negative reviews too as I also had a terrible experience like most of these posts!

as soon as i walked in the receptionist was unwelcoming. i sat down with a girl and talked about what i wanted for my hair i told her a lot and showed her pictures but she didn't really ask any questions or talked very much about what i wanted even when i asked her what she thought and how she would achieve the look i wanted. she did my foils for me but only did foils on the left and side of my head and not on the top or bottom sort of a chuck in the middle so weird and looks terrible. then after sitting around for over an hour another hairdresser washed my hair then two differnt hairdressers sat me down and dryed my hair neither of them knew how to brush hair they were just going at it was a mess the whole time they were being fake and saying ohh wow how good is her hair, seriously i can tell when someone is not being genuine they were just talking it up. then another hairdresser came along and said ok im going to cut your hair so i had to explain what i wanted again and she wouldnt listen to any of my ideas i kept saying it feels too heavy it feels like there isnt really any layers etc she just had an excuse for all of it and did what she wanted i hate my hair cut and then when i went to pay i experienced the owner who wasnt rude to me but right in front of me was treating an employee badly and was clearly being a cow to put it nicely. i hate my hair cut i hated the experience do not go there!!! also i bought a coupon for 50 dollars had to then pay an extra 55 because my hair is kind of long and then they wanted me to pay another 60 dollars for toner! ridiculous! soooo over priced!

I can't believe these previous reviews. I have bought several hair vouchers through a variety of sites and this was far better than any I have used. Firstly, I was not kept waiting when I arrived and I was greeted by a very attentive and friendly Irish lady. I was then introduced to my hairdresser who was extremely professional, friendly and polite. I was then treated to the BEST haircut I have had in years along with an excellent colour and timely service. Not once was I badgered to buy products which has happened to me with EVERY other hair voucher I have purchased. To ben honest, after tha amazing treatment I had today, I will stop buying vouchers and use CorCorz as a regular hairdresser. I am very impressed and thankful to find a good hairdresser...finally!

This person has to be a friend or even someone working at this worst salon in the world!! So unrealistic that this person gives 5 stars for everything. I completely agree with All the other negative comments and reviews about corcorz. I was warned not to go there but I had already bought the voucher. Worst service, haircut, colour I've had all my life!!! The owner is so unbelievably rude!! No wonder someone spat in her face. That was on the news!! That person got fined but the owner deserved it! I guess this is the only way they will get business from anyone. Through the vouchers. They are really bad. If you want the worst experience of your life...then go ahead. The only thing you'll get from going there is REGRET.

Has anyone else noticed that the "good" reviews all mention Carole by name? I suspect these good reviews have been placed by either Carole herself or someone in the salon, as I can't imagine anyone saying anything even remotely nice about that horrible woman. Everyone seems to have had a bad experience with her and her salon.

Yes, I am pretty sure as well that any review with Carole's name in it is a fake review

My sister has been going to carole for a while now and I thought I'd try her out myself and I have to say- Outstanding! Amazing staff and amazing hairdo! Carole did the best job on my cut, she listened to everything i wanted and she delivered! I admit she is a bit outrageous but i guess thats just how she is... Daniella did my colour, beautiful creamy highlights that i will definately be back for! As for the negative comments on here, All I can gather from these negative reviews is that people are all buying some kind of deal and expecting to have lots of stuff done for next to nothing... its rare these days to get a cut and colour done for less than $300, so to balk at paying a bit more on top of a cheap deal is laughable!

Unfortunately, I would also have to agree with Larissaji. I have received colour and cuts from small suburban salons in London, Munich and Paris and all over Australia, and this has been the worst hairdressing experience!. I also received the discount voucher and I have been astounded that this salon is still in business. I phoned on the day of my appointment to say I would be a few minutes late. I was rudely told, "we are back -to -back. You will have to make another appointment"! Fortunately, I did arrive on time, only to be kept waiting for one hour to be seated. I explained what I wanted to one hairdresser, who then left me alone for 45 minutes, until another hairdresser was free. I then had to explain what I wanted all over again. The second hairdresser was very rough! I stated "You are very busy today" and she replied “Yes, we have over booked!" I asked "how successful has the voucher programme has been?” She replied “We don't make any money on this and we have outgrown this location, so I don't know how she is going to fit them all in, we had to call customer's back and re-booked them". I thought this was very inappropriate for an employee to be sharing with a client. I noticed one hairdresser (obviously brought in to cope with all the clients, who didn't even have her own pair of scissors! Unbelievable! Finally I had my colour completed and paid an extra $95.00 for it (although I was told this would be refunded when I sent through the PIN number of the voucher). I'm still waiting for my refund. I finally got out of their at 2.15pm, total time was 4 hours and 15 minutes. My hair colour is horrible and the hair cut is substandard and nothing like what I asked for and 7 calls later to the salon, all I have spoken to is a very rude receptionist who would not book an appointment for me, stating repeatedly "The manager will have to deal with you!" I am still waiting for a call back from the 'manager' who supposedly will be calling me on Friday 15th April. I do not hold much hope of hearing from her. They claim to have called me back four times, and yet I have only received one call-back on my mobile in response to the previous six calls. On my seventh call, I was speaking to the rude receptionist. I really don't understand how this salon can claim all the awards, yet their customer service is shocking. I have received a better cut, colour and friendly service from my small local salon in the suburbs. I will not be wasting my time again and will be sharing my experience with everyone I know.

I totally agree with the other comments from unhappy customers. My first disappointment was getting a phone call on the Friday afternoon to say they had to change my 9am Saturday apt as staff were sick, I had booked this apt 6wks earlier and had to organise a baby sitter, so wasn't happy but they said there was no way they could fit me in. I also had a discount voucher which was purchased through Spreets. I thought I was going to a very reputable salon and was looking for a new hairdresser and also wanted to try the Brazilian Keratin Treatment for the first time so jumped at the discount opportunity. This treatment is meant to defrizz and condition your hair. After a few days I noticed my hair breaking off then splitting it got so bad that after brushing my hair my bathroom sink was full of broken hair. Prior to this treatment my hair was in excellent condition, I was just wanting to address the frizz problem, I have never had my hair coloured or any other chemicals put in it in the past 12yrs. After consulting another hairdresser I was told they had somehow burnt my hair and that had weakened it causing the breakage. I did call Corcorz and they advised there was no way it was their fault. I asked for a refund, conditioning treatment and hair cut, I was only offered a hair cut, but they would take no responsibility for the damage. I decided not to go back and had to go to another hairdresser who had to cut close to 10cms off to stop the breaking. I wanted to contact a rep for the product they use but it seems like it was just bought from a wholesaler. Anyone can go online and buy it and download the instructions for use so I'm not sure how much training staff had actually been given. It was only after this experience I looked online to see if there were any other people out there that were treated unfairly. I have learnt a lesson to check out reviews first. Please be warned. I'm sure it was not the product but the hairdresser, she was a lovely girl but in the end it doesn't matter if your hair has been damaged so much.

I experienced the same. I called on Monday to confirm and check when my appointment was for Sat morning. I told the receptionist that my booking was on Sat and was at 10 or ten thirty. The receptionist said that "they were so busy and someone else would have to check the bookings and call me back". They never returned my call.

I have to agree with all the unhappy people. I got the discount voucher and I have been most disappointed. I did go back as I had to make it worth my while. I admit the first time was the worst, the guy barely noticed me or even listened. They leave you alone for hours and the cost is outrageous. I would never pay full price for their service. Half price is bad enough. When going back other times I did find a couple of stuff who were nice and helpful but still at the end of the day I was never that impressed with their work. The owner is alright, but a bit loud, hard worker though.

I totally agree. I was a big fan of CorCorz in the late 90's. I think Carole is a great hairdresser/smart business women BUT my visit recently left me wondering why I went there. The honest answer is a voucher and it's like 2 mins away from work. But the experiene I had means I can't recommend it.
Overall the booking and my colourist were fine. But when I had my 'shiatsu' massge it was aweful. The girl didn't talk, just ran her finagers through my hair- that's not a massage and certainly not shiatsu. I thought she was a junior and so just let that go...surely the senior stylist would be wonderful! right. I could have died when she walked me to the chair took out scissors and said in an accent 'Cut Cut'. Talk about a lack of communication with your hairdresser, she coudl barely speak English. I should have said no I want someone else but trying to be nice I didn't. I was worried and so explained really clearly what I wanted. But she just keep shrugging at me. It was aweful, she did everything I asked her not too...so I ended up with the worst haircut I've ever! had...My partner when he saw me suggested I go back and complain. I didn't :( Anyhow I think with the Cor Corz experience it depends on who you get- some stylist are wonderful some are just ametuers. What worries me is that Corz doesn't seem to worry about quality, they just pump people in and out.

Awards look great but for the actual real world experience, for me it is well below par to many other hairdressers in Brisbane.

dianak1 04 Mar 2012

I bought a voucher in good faith and then I was quoted 150 extra to dye my hair. I said "no" and asked to see my voucher to clarify the terms of the 'deal'.

I understand that I have to pay more as I have long thick hair however 150 extra is just a plain money grab.
