This shop is right around the corner for me so super convenient to go to. A good range of pet products for a local store and also plenty of weird and unusual critters to look at such as snakes and lizzards. The price's are a bit more expensive then some big major retailers but for a smaller local business that's quite common. The quality of what you buy has always been good and the staff are helpful and super knowledgeable which always helps.

This review is for Isshin Japanese House, Lilydale VIC

Isshin House is tucked away in Lilydale, we wouldn't have known it was there if a friend hadn't introduced it to us as we love asian cuisine and Japanese in particular. If you're also a fan you'll have to try Isshin house, you won't be dissappointed. One of the few places I've heard of that offers all you can eat for a reasonable price of thirty five dollars. It is a medium sized restaurant with simple yet traditional japanese decor. The staff seat you quickly but I find they do take a little while to collect your orders and as someone else has already said there is often a bit of a wait for food. However the food itself is absolutely amazing, one of the best Japanese cuisine you can get and a massive range to.

One small note to make though the restaurant has a policy against wasting food when you order the all you can eat offer so try not to order more then you are going to eat. You can always order more later after all. Try some of their sake to for a great Japan experience.

Approximate cost: $35 all you can eat

This little cafe really has a nice vibe. It's interior and decorations are very European inspired and I always choose to sit inside to admire the lovely decor. The staff are friendly enough and their is a decent selection of different things to eat. My own favourite is the steak sandwhich and I usually have it when I go. The food is better then most average cafes and the price reflects that also their coffee is quite good. It's a pretty popular place especially on weekends so you'll want to make sure you plan your visit or else there might be a bit of a wait. On a busy Saturday or two I've waited what I consider to be a bit unnecessarily long for my meal.

Always a good place to drop in to with friends the scenery is so serene and picturesque surrounding the shop. Good luck getting a table on weekends though because this place gets seriously busy and for good reason. The shop is quite small and boasts a very rustic charm, with just a few tables you need to get in quick or pick a less busy day to come and have coffee or sample the to die for cheese platter. I always get one to share between a friend and I and with a coffee it's seriously just the right amount of food though there are also some lovely local cakes, biscuits and tarts just incase you can fit anything more in. Other then that there isn't any other food on offer to order, other then the produce they sell.

There is a great variety of cookware, gifts, wine and mostly local produce you can spend plenty of time perusing it alone. We always make sure to try anything new we see to as the lovely ladies will usually give you a little free tasting at the counter. A favourite of mine is the goat's cheese ash triangle it's simply divine.

This place is a favourite of the men in my life so I find myself here every few months or so- the cider is excellent as you'd expect from a brewery. Not just a brewery they also offer meals and drinks in both a bar, seated dining and al fresco dining setting. The pub has a nice homely sort of feel to it. The food is deffinently top notch quality and indicitive of all the great produce the yarra valley has to offer. The price reflects it of course and is a little more expensive then average but you do get what you pay for. The place can deffinently get busy, sometimes the staff can be a little slow and the last time we visited a mistake was made on our order but it was remedied as quickly and apologetically as possible.

This review is for DeVille At Healesville, Badger Creek VIC

I found this accomodation a few months ago whilst looking for idea's for a romantic night away. When I came across the De Sunset room that was offered I knew I had to book at DeVille. Boasting almost 360 degree views of the Yarra Valley surrounds and the ability to watch the sun set below the mountains from a perfectly positioned spa bath, what says romance more then that? Even the drive to the yarra valley is lovely and it is down a quiet, long road that leads to DeVille nestled amongst the picturesque hills and trees. It is similar to a bed and breakfast set up where you arrange a time to arrive, are greeted and allowed in to the hotel and shown to your room. That is about it from the service of the owner as it is self-sustained and you have a key to come and go at your leisure. There is also an optional games and entertainment room for everyone but we didn't end up using them.

De Sunset is the priciest, biggest and clearly the best room in my opinion with it's easy to use spa bath, wood fireplace, air conditioning, large bathroom, kitchen and bed. Everything was impeccably neat and clean and athough it was a country get-away all the fittings and decor were very modern and comfortable. The fridge and pantry is also very well stocked for breakfast and some snacks but I had brought my own food and drink. When it was time to check out we simply packed up in peace, left and dropped the keys off on the way out- it was very easy and hassle free.

My Husband and I love stopping in at Sakura House when we're in the area, especially for lunch. With very reasonable price's for the amount of food you get you can't go passed the bento boxes which have a mix of four or five dishes in one with a miso soup as well. The restaurant is normally nice and quiet and the staff pleasant and polite. If you already have a taste for asian/japanese cuisine then I think you'd enjoy this restaurant.

Approximate cost: $10-20

Nice and conveniently located opposite the cinema's in Eastland I've checked this restaurant out a few times. I would say the service, quality and appearance of the restaurant is average, nothing too special but not terrible either- a little bit on the expensive side though for what you get. Good for a meal before or after a film thanks to it's position and there is also a bar attached if you're just after a drink.

This review is for Cakes Armour, Mitcham VIC

I found Cakes Armour browsing online and with the elegant designs and such smooth and flawless looking fondant- I had to book a meeting with Cakes Amour. Krysten was very sweet and professional, she had her own office and mini-bakery set up in her home and we discussed colours, flavours and of course the best part- got to taste test samples of her cake. It was so delicious, moist and rich, absolutely perfect. I had picture's of the type of cake I wanted for my Wedding day and they were followed perfectly, I ended up with a perfect replica in my custom colour, with my design and in the flavours I wanted. You have complete control over every aspect of your cake. The cake was even delivered to my venue for a small extra charge so there was one less thing for me to worry about. Needless to say the cake was a hit on my big day and looked fantastic in photo's. If you're after delicious, beautiful and custom cakes I can't recommend Cakes Armour enough.

This review is for Brewhouse Cafe, Ringwood East VIC

I was taken here by a friend and sometimes you don't know what to expect from little cafe's tucked away like Brewhouse is but I was pleasantly surprised. Though rather small the place was bustling and for good reason, the food and coffee we were served was absolutely delicious- some of the best, crunchiest potato chips I've ever had and I've had alot of chips. The price was fairly reasonable to, what you would expect for such good food and drink. If you're passing by I say give it a go, you'll probably be coming back for more like me.
