This review is for 115 Cafe Bar, Mornington VIC

My friend often comes to this cafe so we popped in today for an early lunch. It was nice and quiet since we were there before twelve and we relaxed with a coffee. The cafe blends indoor with alfresco dining seamlessly with an open plan and some nice shades and plants for outdoors but this time we sat inside but near the open back of the restaurant. The decor is rustic and and a little old fashioned. The service was very nice with the girls checking up on us often and our drinks came very quick. When we were ready to order I tried the caramelised onion with feta tart which came with a side salad and the food came out rather quickly to, it was good we came before the lunch time rush. The first bite I had of the tart told me I'd made the right decision ordering this, it was abolutely delicious with creamy feta and a nice crumbly tart base. The best part was the price for the great food- it was incredibly cheap in my opinion especially for the area.

I drove almost an hour to this quaint little shop after hearing about their macarons and I wasn't dissappointed. The experience is like stepping in to a little boutique in Paris and all around is macarons macarons macarons. The shop itself it just gorgeous and opulent and after ordering one of each flavour found that the macarons also came in the most darling little boxes in pastel colours with gold designs on. I'm a sucker for little things like this. The macarons themselves were worth the trip, simply the best in Melbourne and I'm so glad the business and brand is growing and they are becoming more available. My personal favourites were the cherry blossom and sake as well as the Moet and blackcurrant combinations. If you love macarons you really have to try these ones.

The go to place in Westfield Doncaster if you consider yourself a coffee connisseur. Surprisingly inexpensive but incredibly tasty and located conveniently in a small central stand near Coles. The staff are friendly and best of all they're quick. If I'm in the area and I just want a good coffee I come here everytime.

This review is for The Groove Train, Doncaster VIC

Had lunch with a friend in this restaurant as we were looking for something away from the food court and neither of us had been to the Groove Train before so we thought we'd give it a go. The menu is your typical aussie fare though a bit more expensive as previously mentioned. The restaurant itself it quite stylish and the views of course are fantastic- we managed to get a good table with a clear view of the large windows that overlook the City in the distance. The staff were quite slow despite it not being super busy, slow to seat us and slow to take our orders and the food also took forever to come but when it came it was nice enough, maybe not worth the price but that is my opinion. It was a average experience, nothing to write home about.

This review is for Coffee Max, Doncaster VIC

I stopped in to this little cafe while looking for a quieter, more peaceful place to sit and have coffee at Westfield. Located near Myer it's at the other end of the shopping centre to the food court and if you want some peace and quiet this is the place to go. With a very elegant but modern look and large windows allowing you to look outside Coffee Max presents a very appealing and inviting place to come and sit. I ordered my coffee and wasn't kept waiting very long as all, the service prompt and polite. The most important part of course is the coffee, it was wonderful and rich. I would say the price is slightly above average but as usual you get what you pay for. I suggest you try stopping in one day, especially during this crazy silly season for a bit of a break from the hustle and bustle and some seriously good coffee.

This review is for Energy Australia, Sydney NSW

I can't really recommend this service, they were just so incompetent at every turn ever since we signed up with them which wasn't for very long. We waited and waited for our bill to show up and after several calls with no answers to where our bill was or when it was coming, just alot of excuses and empty promises, we decided to just wait since there was little else we could do. When the bill did come almost nine months late, and was expectedly a big one, they wanted it paid in just the space of a week! We had to call and argue with them and the same day we were cancelling our service and calling another provider. We were only with Energy Australia for about a year but it was just a shockingly bad experience.

This review is for Beechworth Bakery, Healesville VIC

As with all places that are awesome- this bakery gets super super busy on weekends so be prepared for a queue! A rather large establishment with a neat country charm there is plenty of seating indoors and outside and it doesn't feel too cramped. With a huge selection of goods baked on site you'll have trouble picking what to get. I can never go passed their sausage rolls with one of their famous vanilla slice's. There is even a little gift section available which is pretty great for this time of year. The staff are lovely and usually when I am there working flat out though sometimes it takes them a while to get around to cleaning up the tables after other patrons. It's just a great place to go for a sit down meal or even just to grab your things for takeaway. The price's are also incredibly reasonable for the quality of the food and drink you will get here.

This review is for Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery, Yarra Glen VIC

verified email - 16 Dec 2014

I have no complaints about this place, I often take people to the Chocolaterie to show off the beautiful surrounds and delicious chocolate and you'll want to brag about finding it to. Often extremely busy on weekends you need to be careful when picking the right time to come if you intend to sit down and have a meal at the cafe that features both al fresco and indoor dining. Seats go very very quickly. The scenery is just beautiful of course, set in the picturesque hills of the yarra valley- it's practically worth the trip just for that view.

As for the food at the cafe everything I have ever ordered is delicious, a favourite of mine is the fondue set served with plenty of sweets and fruit and you have to try the hot chocolate which comes with real melted chocolate to pour in to your milk. The chocolate store is big and full of all sorts of things you wouldn't expect, they have gourmet chocolate, even some body products and always great seasonal gifts. You can even watch some of the chocolate being made thanks to a giant glass wall that looks in to the factory. It's just a treat to go here every time.

This review is for Barclays Cafe, Heathmont VIC

verified email - 16 Dec 2014

A really big and bustling cafe located on a nice shopping strip in Heathmont, Barclay's is bigger and better then your average cafe. With a nice mix of rustic and trendy decor this place offer's more variety then typical cafe's and also very good quality food which is reflected in the price that you pay. The staff are polite when we visit but obviously run off their feet when we've visited, it's one busy place so take note if you're visiting during peak easting hours you might have to wait a little. The food and coffee is just that good, I consider it worth the wait. Stop in for their breakfasts the menu has so many choice's and everything is so delicious and fresh.

This review is for Specsavers Opticians, Ringwood VIC

The place I always go to for my prescription glasses. I make sure I make an appointment because this place is always busy. The staff are always lovely, patient when you're taking forever to pick your frames like I always seem to do and very helpful. With a massive range of frames and also able to process many of the major private health care funds it's just a matter of convenience when you go to this specsavers. I've been visiting this particular store practically every year ever since I needed presciption glasses and the service is always excellent.
