This review is for Tom's Confectionery Warehouse, Hendra QLD

I quite like going to Tom's confectionery warehouse because it's a bit like visiting a land of lollies and chocolate. There is a huge amount of variety and you can buy specific things here that you can't elsewhere. I personally love that you can buy your favorite roses chocolates individually, rather than in a box with others you don't like. The service is reasonable and the value is pretty goo overall. Some things aren't that much cheaper than the supermarket through.

Meat City sells meat at a really good price.I went to check them out because I heard they often sell chicken breast fillets at $5.99 a kg for a minimum of 2kg lots. It turns out they do and also have lots of other great prices. The service the butcher who served us gave was friendly and helpful. He showed us how to easily pull the skin off the fillets with skin on and therefore save money, instead of buying the skinless ones that were a couple of dollars dearer per kilogram. When we took the chicken home and used it we were very happy with the quality. The only thing we found dissapointing was the beef, it was a bit chewy. We will certainly go back for chicken products though.

This review is for Hungry Jacks, Strathpine QLD

verified email - 20 Apr 2012

This Hungry Jacks seems about average to me as far as service goes. The good thing is that you don't tend to have to wait long to get your order in, but sometimes you have to wait for the order itself. As another reviewer mentioned it is pretty old and clinical inside, especially when you compare it to some of the update McDonalds that are more cafe like in decor.

I didn't even know this place was tucked away in here until my brother told me about it. We then went for lunch found that they offer good food and service. What I liked the most about it though was the atmosphere, it feels like a haven away from all the chaos. If you are looking for somewhere quiter than the Northlakes shopping centre, try here.

This review is for The Family Practice, Kallangur QLD

Personally I've found the reception staff here quite pleasant. The doctors okay and they also have extra services like counselling provided here at certain times. Yes there can be a bit of a wait, but what bulk billing practice doesn't have this at the moment? Overall an okay place to go especially for basic medical things.

This review is for IGA Northlakes, North Lakes QLD

We recently started going to IGA at Northlakes for some of our groceries as they have some really great bargains in their weekly specials catalogue. They are often much more competitive in price than Woolworths and Coles. I find their produce of a decent quality and when it comes to the shopping experience it is quick and easy to get in and out of this complex. We have always got a close carpark and it hasn't been packed inside. They also have self service checkout stations which are useful.

This review is for Kallangur Fish & Chips, Kallangur QLD

verified email - 19 Apr 2012

We have been to this fish and chips place twice as we like to give places a reasonable go and then find our favourites in an area. This place produces fairly average fish and chips for a reasonable value, but is nothing standout. We prefer chips and scallops at some other places. it can also get pretty busy and take a while to get your order.

This review is for Salt 'n' Battered, Murrumba Downs QLD

We used to go here all the time because they produced nice fish and chips and were generous with their servings. However after a while everytime we went they undercooked the potato scallops and we were only able to eat round the edges. We tried going there several times, but didn't find it improved. In trying a few other places we also found out that they are a little more expensive than a lot of other places around the area.

This review is for Lash Me, North Lakes QLD

verified email - 19 Apr 2012

Lash me does great eyelash extensions. Unlike many other beauty places they specialize in this service and therefore offer a variety of lash products including mink lashes. Prior to this I had, had synthetic lashes applied. The mink eyelashes are way more comfortable to wear and last longer. When I first made an email enquiry I got really pleasant reponses to all my questions about mink eyelashes. For each appointment I attended they ran on time and were friendly. They tailor the lashes to your particular needs, rather than just applying a stock standard set. I would always go back here when wanting eyelash extensions.

This review is for Retra Vision Redcliffe, Redcliffe QLD

verified email - 05 May 2009

My hair styling tool had gone belly up so and I was in the area on another errand so I decided to check out what Retra Vision at Redcliffe had. The stock range was reasonable (some stores prior hadn't had what I was after). The store in general seemed nice and open and the stock clearly displayed. I was asked if I needed assistance, but wasn't pushed. When I decided what I was after the the transaction was processed quickly and I was on my way with my purchase. The only thing that was lacking was a discount on the purchase.
