This review is for Dayboro Bakery, Dayboro QLD

The Dayboro bakery is a reasonable bakery to pop into if you are passing through Dayboro. We have bought cakes/slices from here on several occasions. It is nice to sit out on the deck on a nice day. The selection can be a bit hit and miss depending on what time of the day you go as they don't seem to offer to make anything new up like some bakeries can when they run out of fresh cream items. I have found the service to be reasonable but not as friendly as my favourite bakery.

I have been to this cafe on a few occasions and it is a reasonable place to dine out for a laidback lunch or snack in Dayboro. When the weather is nice, it's nice to sit outside. The service is good, the food reasonable (most cakes and sweet items seem to be the same as many cafes get in comercially).

We went here for a casual dinner one night and enjoyed the food enough that I'd go back if we were in the area again. The setting is right on the wharf so quite nice for a burger style joint. It is a bit like a gourmet, or upmarket burger place.

I had a chicken bruger with chilli jam and avocado and it was nice and tasty. You need to buy chips separately and chips and a burger will set you back around $14-$15. Just a hint the chips are very generous though, we found we could have shared one chips together. The baked new york cheesecake was also nice.

We went here once on a trip to townsville. We found the food quality to be pretty good. For example, the meat was decent not fatty or chewy. Taste wise it isn't one of my favourite Indian places, but nor is it terrible. We got take away and found the wait pretty average. The staff weren't rude, but nor did they seem friendly either. We stayed on palmer street so it was a convenient walk away. If you are staying in the area and are craving Indian it may be worth a try.

We have enjoyed all of our visits to Australia Zoo over time. I went here with my now husband on one of our first dates. I like that parking tends to be a bit easier than it is at the Gold Coast theme parks. I haven't been for a little while now so I'd love to go back and see some of the upgrades others are discussing!

This review is for North Lakes Tavern, Mango Hill QLD

I went to dinner with my husband and a friend one night and overall found it a reasonable dining place in the local area. The prices were pretty average, as we didn't go at a time when any deals were running, but it is decked out nicely-think modern tavern rather than old dingy pub. I also enjoyed my meal, which was the chicken parmijana. It was tasty, nicely presented and generous in portion size. If you are looking for a classic tavern meal in a reasonably ambient setting this tavern is worth trying.

We stumbled on this butcher when making a trip to IGA. If you are looking for a traditional butcher that can offer advice, quality meat and service they are well worth checking out. They also offer to order specialized items in. For example, if you want a decent sized Turkey at different times of the year to Christmas. Love their cute pig logo. The only downside is that the prices probably aren't as competitive as the supermarkets or discount butchers all around. So overall it just depends on what you want out of a butcher.

This review is for Bazza's Bakehouse, Kallangur QLD

I have been going to this bakery since I was a child and they are definetly one of my favourite bakeries in Australia. They bake items fresh on site unlike some other bakeries that are just resellers. Consequently everything tastes good. Our family has used them to order cakes for get togethers and they are good value and tasty. I particularly like their sausage rolls, caramel tarts, cheesecake slice and long donuts with jam and fresh cream. I have been before and they have only had mock cream ones made up but when I enquired they made one up with fresh cream on the spot. This beats the many bakeries that don't even offer the fresh cream versions. The service is always quick and friendly.

This review is for Iceworld, Boondall QLD

A group of us got together and headed here for something to do one afternoon. Only one person in the group had been ice skating before so we were all a bit nervous, but they are well set up for all levels of experience. It was quite quick to get in and booted up. At first they just let people muck around and then they ran games. A few of us even managed to participate in some of these our first time. It was a fun afternoon and the centre is run efficiently.

This review is for The Old Tea House Gallery, Mudgeeraba QLD

My husband and I felt like a country drive and some morning tea so we thought we would try this place since it looked nice on the web. It turned out to be a good decision. We had scones and tea and found that the experience was much more than your average cafe, or many devonshire tea places offer. When it came to choosing a tea they brought out a sample of the teas on a tray for you to look at and smell prior to making a selection. They had lots to choose from including more unusual blends. For example, my husband chose cherry ripe and I had a cooled fruit tea. The scones theselves were fresh and yummy and the tables are decked out nicley for taking tea. We saw that they specialize in high teas and from the looks of what a neighbouring table recieved they look good. We plan to go back and try the high tea. The service was friendly and from hearing conversations going on it seems like a lot of people go back regularly.
