A nice Cafe That will do one of my collegues coffess just how she like them, with Goats milk. Well each to there own, but I enjoy going and sitting here watching people going in and out of Centrelink, it is a eye opener to the exciting people we work amongst in the Redfern area.
They have a nice selection of food and its fast, convenient and tasty.
In side is clean and nice and outside tables are good on some of these fine sunny days we have in Sydney.

This is a Marvelous Sandwich Deli, that make a vast range of sandwiches to order and have a great selection of hot foods as well all for very reasonable prices.
This is more than just a Sandwich Deli and Cafe, with plenty of tables and seats you are mixing with the locals and everyone talks to each other and keeps each other in touch with the very latest in local gossip and state wide affairs.
Jan is a delight, Bill your true Austrlian Bloke, they keep every thing together with their skilled and wonderful team work. They will make things for you if they can and the Big breakfast is one of the biggest Ive seen. This is a real discovery a beating, pulsating, living Cafe where the locals and the different cultures come together to share a common and great experience that truely is Redfern.
I can highly recommend the Deli Cafe, go in and dont let the older decor turn you off, its clean and the food all fresh.

We bought our dinning table from here it is just what we were looking for. All solid teak wood and large enough to fit 8 people.we negotiated the price which wasn't to bad, though it probably was too much for a table made in Indonesia, but it's what we like and so we paid it, isn't that what many of us do so that's why things are more costly, as we will pay for it.
Delivery a little cheeky when you consider we are 1 KLM from store but I suppose it still has to be dismantled put on a truck and carried in.
As for the service it was good and the variety is excellent there's so much to discover, there's a mirror I wanted but that's for the next visit.

This place is in, funky and very good, I know my review disciples know how often I talk about soul and or experience, well this cafe has it all. The service is excellent, the food and varieties are Australian with an Indigenous flair.
They are also intending on expanding to their first floor and adding a licence, this certainly will make their future grand. Redfern is lucky to have this great cafe amongst its repertoire of cafes, they originally were starting out in one of the back streets further from the heart, but fate, their luck, has placed them right where they are and it's perfect.

This review is for Bargain Super Store, Redfern NSW

This is the biggest and most extensive $2.00 shop in the heart of down town Redfern. Though little in here costs only $2.00, there is a huge range of tat, and some good things also, the staff are attentive and this is a fun shop to pick up some bits and bobs and gifts for those distant rels you don't really like.

Approximate cost: $2.00+

The Mother out law was down for the weekend and wanted to see my new office so I took her up there and walked along Redfern Street. This store has some very nice ladies wear and they have some in larger sizes, enough that even my mother in law looked good.
The service was easy come easy go but we got there in the end so I'm happy, still no one son in law and she got a great mothers day present.
I always love when she comes to stay for a few days, the little time we get to spend together, always feels like an eternity.

This review is for Captain Cook's Cove, North Ryde NSW

We live in Captain Cooks Cove for a while and ate here, they did a very good white fillet beur maneur for the veg head in my life and I ate everything else on offer, it's all so fresh, and tasty with impeccable service. Sometimes I wish we hadn't moved from North Ryde, as we lost going to such a great restaurant as this, the pay off is that we are closer to the city now.

This review is for Govinda's Restaurant & Movie Room, Darlinghurst NSW

My vegetarian friends and the carnivore in me love this restaurant and small relaxed movie screening space, why? Because the food is so tasty and delicious you don't miss the meat and there are some tempura vegetables so there's something that has been in a deep fryer, so Hallelujah! It's all good.
After the meal you go into a screening room with mattresses and lounges to watch a new release movie in this very comfortable and relaxed environment.
Actually in reality Govindas was the forerunner and the example to what Hoyts, La Premiere, and Greater Unions Gold Class are now trying to deliver, but Govindas do it all for well than half under the price of the big chains. I have been going to the Sydney site for 17 years and it's never been bad. For something different and a fun night out, then this just might be for you.

I must admit I liked this place a little more when it was Circle 8 but Newtown just wasnt ready for Posh. It is nice now but it isnt the same. The service is good the food is nice, theres always a juggle to get a table and sit in the right place.
I do like the newish name it reminds me of the cool names like Slug and lettuce in london. Though this is more Australian. So I am a little biased as my thoughts are with how it was to how it is now, but Now it is a nice place to go, has a good modern menu, and good service.
Is it my first choice in Newtown, proably not, is it a place that I would recommend over others, Yes.
