This review is for Sooki Lounge, Belgrave VIC

Dropped into the new Sooki lounge recently, Drinks expensive and tapas overpriced for what you get. We ordered a tapas plate to share and there was 1 stuffed date ..were we meant to chop it in 2 to share? The place is beautifully decorated and would have liked to stay for the live music but we had a movie to attend. One thing offputting, the waitress poured herself a glass of tap water and placed her used glass back into the clean glasses rack without even rinsing the glass...eeewww. It's obviously a place for the touristsm the locals can't really afford those prices.

Dropped in their for lunch recently. We shared a pork belly entree which was absolutely delicious. For a main I had salmon with a pomegranate glaze...excellent. I was quite impressed, I've never been there before despite shopping in Belgrave since the Reels inception. What a shame..so many good meals I must have missed out on!

Nice spot for getting a nice gift. I went in there for a Christmas Kris Kringle and asked what was available for my price limit. The lady was very helpful and even gift wrapped my prezzie for me even though it was not expensive. Lovely service,

A great little find in amongst the industrial estate of Rowville. We were quite surprised to find a restaurant of this caliber there. They have an extensive menu and meals to suit a range of tastes. IThey are fully licenced so no BYO but they do have a nice little Shiraz labelled for Tosario and quite pleasant for $25 a bottle. I ordered a Thai prawn Salad which was delicious but could have been "padded out" with a bit of greenery. Dessert was banana and sticky rice dumplings with vanilla icecream topped with peanuts at $10.90 a bit on the expensive side for a dessert but very yummy nonetheless. When the final came we were overcharged by $10 according to the menu price when we questioned this they mentioned that we had been asked if we wanted a main or entree but the menu did not mention the difference in price nor were we told the difference. After apologising they refunded the $10 ( after a bit of prompting). Still a lovely meal, lovely staff and we will be back.

Typical suburban Chinese restaurant, Good variety on the menu with some Thai items as well. Decor a bit on the plain side. I have been going to this family run business for many years and have rarely been dissapointed.

I had some old door handles I wanted revamped so dropped them into FTG Platers. They had been recommended by a friend as they don't advertise at all. A few days later I picked up my door handles beautifully plated and polished. The guys were very friendly and helpful. Next time I need something plated I'll be back there.

I never believed I could get such great food and coffee from a little kiosk. The kiosk has been recently taken over by a lovely lady, Kandee. She offers home cooked yummies like muffins and quiches, porridge on the go, all great for the long train trip into the city. Great way to start the day.

I have heard great things about this place and finally dropped in for lunch the other day. I must say I was dissapointed, the menu was not very interesting. I finally settled on a toasted sandwich and my partner had the roast of the day. He asked if they had any horseradish, they didn't have any but offered him chutney instead! . Hardly the same, they managed to provide some mustard. The beef was dry and the veggies didn;t look all that appetising. We had a chai latte which surprisingly was brewed from chai tea, not made with a syrup. With new cafe's popping up all over Belgrave Cafe Green Bean needs to pick up its game.

This review is for A Star Bakery, Belgrave VIC

A star bakery is run by some lovely Cambodians. The guy there is always happy to have a chat about his bread and keen to offer samples. They have a really yummy olive oil bread which he makes. Their pies are all one price and I can recommend their curry pies which have an asian curry style to them rather than the standard english/indian curry powder most bakeries use, Caution, they are a tad on the hot side so if you don't like chilli try their beef and mushroom pies.

We dropped in here for lunch and were the only people in the restaurant, We chose a bento box which came with a miso soup starter and then a great selection of prawn skewers beef teriyaki, salmon sashimi and a serve of boiled rice. All was very yummy and great service considering we were the only ones there! Next time I'm going to try their green tea icecream which you can get for free if you like them on Facebook. We will be back.
