Wonderful tastes and great ambience. I personally enjoyed the Beef Tataki and Teriyaki chicken. An amazing range of Saki, which I had never tried till now (try the Choya Umeshu). The jazz musicians they had playing did a wonderful job and added to the ambience of the place. In terms of cost it worked out at $60 a head including the drinks and dessert. This is a nice place to take your spouse/partner. I would definitely come back here.

It's not easy to find a decent place to eat near Town Hall (unless you go to Maccas), so it was a god-send finding this place tucked away on Druitt street, not far from the QVB. We had less than an hour before a show at the State and the waiter was most helpful in showing us the selections that wouldn't take much time to prepare. We ended up with the Salt and Pepper Calamari with chips and salad. We didn't wait long at all and the meal was quite tasty. The waiter even had the bill ready for us when he saw we'd finished and were ready to go. Great service.

This is a lovely hotel to stay in Canberra. Not a lot around, but it's about 10-15 walk from the restaurants and cafes in Manuka. Lovely clean and spacious rooms; and the whole hotel has such an historical ambience and feel about it - PM Ben Chifley resided here until his death in 1951. Staff are friendly and helpful as well.

It's been a while since I've actually gone into a bookstore like this. Something about the ambience of this place, that makes it inviting. It has a very good selection of books and we ended up walking out with 5 books, all reasonably priced. :-)

What looked like an ordinary cafe, had a menu that was anything but ordinary. The meals were really nice and the staff were quite friendly. I can recommend the spicy warm chicken salad and the Jumbuck (lamb fillets marinated in bush herbs & honey, chargrilled & served on salad with a
tomato & herb salsa). This place was so nice, we came back for a hearty breakfast the next morning. Well worth coming here after visiting the local bookstore - Paperchain bookstore - a few shops down.

The fajitas with chicken dish is quite nice. We had the buffalo wings for an entree, but frankly I would recommend people give that one a miss. I'm not sure what kind of sauce they use on it (had an almost vinegary taste) but I didn't think it was that nice. And what is it with these restaurants that highlight a specific cuisine but can't have the music of that particular culture in the background? It's a Mexican restaurant, so they should at least have latin american playing in the background if not mexican songs. At Pocos we were treated to a mix of country western and some spanish. Hello? I don't know, but for me a restaurant is as much about the ambience as the food.

I've been for lunch here 3 times already. The meals are very tasty. My only caveat is that they tend to be spicy (hot), so make sure you ask before you order, if that bothers you. My favourite dishes there so far are the Mabommen (noodles with pork, shoots and shallots) and Tan Tan Men which is a soup with noodles, pork mince and I think bok choy.

We only had an entree and 2 soups. Lovely flavours, reasonable prices and reasonably quick. We would definitely go back and it's just across the road from the cinema. My only suggestion to them would be to fix up the decor - the wallpaper looks rundown in sections.

I cannot recommend this place to anyone. We brought my mother in-law here some 6 weeks ago, when she contracted shingles. The first doctor she saw, gave her an anti-viral but nothing for the post-viral neuralgia that comes with Shingles. My mother in law was in agony. When we rang the after-hours service, we were told to give her panadeine forte for the pain (this does nothing for nerve pain). The third time we brought her to the centre and the gp on that night, had no idea what to do and recommended she go to casualty; which we promptly did. It was there that we learned from the nurses, that my mother in-law should have been prescribed specific nerve medication from the very start. My mother in-law has been in agony for the past 6 weeks now, thanks to 3 pathetic doctors who had no idea what to do with a case of Shingles. I will avoid this place like the plague.

We had the Odyssey tasting meze, which is supposed to be for two people, but really one person could get through this easily. The flavours were wonderful just wish we had ordered one each.
