Best curry I have had in ages! Seriously good. I've only had take away, not eaten in, but the flavours are amazing. I've sampled a fair selection of the menu and not been disappointed yet!

15 minutes from order to pick-up, usually get free poppadoms too.

$4 pork roll, $4.50 BBQ pork roll, $1.20 can of coke.

This place is cheap and reliable. The pork rolls are pretty good but not out of this world. Close to uni so I often pop in here for lunch.

This place is great. i have been a number of times and the food is always great. There are special depending on the day of the week but everything is good, especially the chicken schnitzel and the pie, but the burgers are great too! You can't go wrong.

Drinks are reasonably price and there is often a beer of the week or month for $5

Came here for brunch, wasn't too busy but we came quite early on a Sunday. Food was good as were coffees. I had a full breakfast which was everything I hoped it to be.

It isn't as swanky looking as many of the Surry Hills bruncheries, there's less hype, but definitely worth a try!

I had brunch here with a friend. Service was fine, maybe a touch slow but Sunday mornings are busy and it should be expected. The menu covered most of the usual, I had a spicy cassoulet and my friend eggs Benedict. The food was really good, coffee and juice really great also. I have to say that this is a bit more expensive for than most Surry Hills brunch hangouts and the portions aren't that big, you can add extras (at extra cost) but it really is becoming expensive then. I would go back but only if I wasn't too hungry (which isn't very often).

As I left my friend and I both got a chai latte to take away. I was expecting something milky, spicy and sweet. I am not sure how they make it here (perhaps more traditionally than I am used to?!) but what we got was something very watery, not at all sweet and not that spicy. More like a weak chai tea. My friend throw hers away as soon as we got to the nearest bin and I didn't drink more than half. Disappointing.

Overall, a nice place to try out, can be v busy at peak times, bit more expensive than usual, not huge portions but very tasty.

Vying for you attention amongst the multitude of Thai eateries is Noon and Night. I suspect it is often overlooked as it is the first Thai restaurant you come to as you walk from USyd, but what a mistake.

You can choose from a lunch menu $6.90, with good choice, or from an extended menu with choice of starters which is still under $10.

The interior and garden are decorated as most of the value Thai places in Newtown but the food is fantastic. Really tasty, huge portions. You might have to take some home for your tea.

The specials board is definitely worth a look, right now I think they have Thai boat noodle soup which is highly recommended (all the soups are great).

In short, if you are a Newtown Thai regular and you haven't been to Noon and Night, you're missing out!

Yum yum yum yum yum.

Amazing pies, amongst the best around. I love chips or mash with my pies but to be honest, I can't manage that as these pies are monsterous.

Just off the main road so you could easily miss it, but trust me, you'll be glad you sought it out.

I always go here for a bite when I'm in the city. Cheap as chips, tasty sushi. Nice choice of sushi boxes or rolls. There's also a hot selection, gyoza, dumplings, spring rolls etc.

Sit on a milk box and take time out from shopping!

Love this place, decent range, decent prices and the staff are always helpful. Open at useful times too. If your after something in particular just ask, they might be able to help.

I know if I ask they'll get me a crate of imported Stella Artois from the back. All in all it's a pleasure shopping there, a real welcoming place. I'd much rather these guys had my money than the chains. Keep it local!

Really really love this place! I know my stars don't average to 5 but the overall experience was better than the sum of its parts.

The menu is large enough to find something to suit your taste, I had veal schnitzel with salad, mash and gravy. It was lovely, and the portion size was more than plenty! For $20 it came with a large 500ml draught Czech beer, fantastic! My girlfriend has beef strips in white wine and cream sauce on potato. She says it was good balance of flavours, the sauce was delicious, I know cos I stole some of it for my mash.

The waitress was lovely and helpful, I am guessing she was Czech, and was ready with a smile. She seemed genuinely friendly and made the experience even better.

The table settings suited 4 people generally, there was a large table with stools at the back which I guess is more flexible seating for many small or a larger group.

Minor negatives for me; they had the radio on, I'd much rather have a cd, something eastern European maybe?!
Also the menu, whilst ok value for an evening meal, was a bit pricey for lunch, I've not been at lunch time but didn't see a special lunch deal. Maybe someone else can let me know!

I'd say this was one of my favourite dining experiences in Sydney.
