there a reason why people queue at this hole in the wall roll joint. its good, really good. i reckon its the herbs in the carrot/radish mix, or maybe the mayonnaise.....perhaps the pate?. either way, its a freakin fab combo. fresh rolls. crunchy vege. good filling. fast and furious. love it

the competition is stiff here, when it comes to the pork roll. There are 3 places in about 150 m on the one street. so, to start, i ordered the salad roll and sugar cane juice. the juice cost more than the roll. i admit, that given its less than 50c for sugar cane in some places (ie asia) i feel slightly out out having to pay 4.50$ here. still..... the roll was good. its crunchy and tastes good. its $4 which is a bargain (same price next door, but only 3$ at the place down the street). given the alternatives though, its not my salad roll of chgoise....try next door

a good staple in the heart of vietnamese marrickville. We have returned a few times to this place. The food is good- qenerous, fresh and delicious. Its fast also, so if you are in a hurry- yopu can expect the meal almost before you have ordered. Today, she gave us menus and asked us what we wanted, expected us to order, at the same time- not much of a stretch as we kinda knew. Go the pho, the chicken salad and definitely the seafood noodles- omg, fabulous. cheap, fast and fresh. gold gold gold

This review is for Gelato Blue, Newtown NSW

verified email - 18 Apr 2014

yum. Gelato is easy to get in newtown. There are 3+ places to get this fab italian treat. So, which one to visit?, depends on what you want. What i like most about gelato blue is that the flavours are original- marscapone and balsamic cherry? tick, baklava? tick, pavlova? tick tick tick. Interesting ones and the originals- hazelnut, coffee etc etc. Its not cheap, but its a good price for what you get. you can eat on or take away and there are vegan options also. Coffee and cakes also available. About 7-8$ for 3 scoops.

This review is for The Coffee Emporium, Parramatta NSW

verified email - 17 Apr 2014

The coffee emporium sits on church st, and is a welcoming place with chairs on the pavement outside. Ive had a few coffees here and they are fine, but cost more compared to other places nearby. The food i found was a bit boring. The place reminded me a bit like an upmarket coffee club. Its another franchise and is a convenient place to stop if you are in the area, but nothing exciting and a bit on the pricy side compared to places nearby.

lots of coffee options in westfield parramatta. Soul Origin is here and also in the marrickville metro. I like this one- and have visited a few times. The coffee is good. the service is good and the food is fresh and tasty. Sandwiches, salads, wraps, toast etc- all full of fresh ingredients. Prices are average, but the helpings are generous.

This review is for Just Falafel, Parramatta NSW

verified email - 12 Apr 2014

someone from work put me onto this place. If you like falafel, its good. The falafels are about $10 but there are lots of varieties (i am sure some traditionalists are appalled!), and something for everyone- even non falafel options. The service can be a little random, but given they have just opened it may just be teething issues. The food is tasty, fresh and moorish- definitetly moorish. Just falafel may be a chain/franchise but its a hit at my work place and a good options for lunch. Go the australian falafel and the asian. yum!

This review is for Boolaroo Takeaway, Boolaroo NSW

This place has been there for over 30 years. Its mainlky fish and chips but does burgers and other fried food also. I have been here a few times. Its really cheap. Its fast and the battered fish is huge- thick, and succulent. Nota huge fan of the chips but I like the potato scallops- they are good, although occasionally the batter can be a little heavy. The calamari is a pass though. Overall, if you a hankering for a fry up- something filling and greasy (and you know we all love it every now and then) this place hits the spot. its fast, inexpensive and tasty. If you are wanting tempura delicacy, keep driving. I like it every now and then

This review is for Waratah Fish Shop, Waratah NSW

good chips. really good chips. and the fish was fresh (they were battering it as we walked in). this is a local takeaway place. the fish is pre-battered and then re-fried, but we arrived during the first fry, so maybe get a better piece than we would have usually. its great value also. the great thing about this place is that you can get lots of other things, if you dont want anything deep frioed- burgers, wraps, sandwiches and more are all on offer. We pitched up at about 4 in the afternoon and even then , they were busy. High turnover is something that is always good at a fish place. we had battered fish, chips and scallops (potato ones0. The chips are good, the fish is good, the scallops ok, but not as good as the others.
i will return to try the other food

This review is for Aitken Hill Conference Centre, Yuroke VIC

verified email - 12 Apr 2014

Aiitken HIll is the ideal conference centre if you dont wabnt your delegates to skive off. Its in the middle of nowhere- about 15 minutes from the airport. Its fully kitted out with all the mod cons- accommodation, dining, catering, conference rooms, gym, 25 m pool as well as break out rooms, fishing cycling etc etc.

the food is good- buffet or alternate drop, but you can choose any package you want. The rooms are good and the meeting facilities are modern and work well. there is IT sopprt etc etc available . the rooms are functional and comfortable- thing of a 3.5-4.5 star hotel. wifi, internet of course

the biggest advantage is that its close to the airport (15 minute drive) and its fully contained (no delegate disappearances). a good option for a work conference
