This review is for Castletown Fish And Chips, Esperance WA

You can tell a good fish and chip shop by how busy they are and this one does a lot of business.

They are very efficient in getting through the orders so the wait is not too long. They operate on a first in first out basis so it is all fair.

The deep fried food is perfectly cooked so they must have the oil at the right temperature. The burgers are chock full of delicious food.

This is a very large caravan park, not far from the center of town.

The sites are on gravel and are nicely sized. They are tiered up the hill away from the beach.

The amenities are very nice with the toilets separated from the showers. The showers have screen doors and the water pressure and temperature are both excellent.

There is a camp kitchen at one end of the park. It has a code to get into it. There are barbeques and a stove - hot plates and oven, microwave etc. There are tables and a TV.

There is a barbeque area at the other end with a hotplate and another TV.

The park is located across the road from the seaside.

This is the type of park that you only stay one night in on the way to Albany or Esperance.

It is ok but does look a little run down.

There is a "new" toilet block and these are great because they are individual bathrooms - but the exhaust fans in most have broken covers. The showers work quite well.

There is an open camp kitchen which has most equipment but it is all a bit rough. It does have a TV with Tasmanian channels!

This review is for Dylans On The Terrace, Albany WA

verified email - 21 Aug 2013

The food that we got from Dylans was delicious .....BUT

we had to wait for an eternity for what was a pretty simple order. I suspect that they lost our order and didn't get started on it until reminded.

They seem pre-occupied with lots of business lunch orders which have priority (and this was at 1:30pm)

The price was just a bit high for what we received.

This review is for Little Grove General Store, Albany WA

This general store has a wide range of goods BUT

...they have the best homemade pies, pasties and sausage rolls.

There is a wide range of pie flavours and the pasties and sausage rolls are delicious.

They also have most things you would expect and the prices are reasonable.

An amazing experience.

Our skipper was knowledgeable and able to get us to the right places to see some great whales in King George Sound.

The commentary was informative and not overboard - only used when necessary.

Morning tea was delicious - sausage rolls and other finger foods then delicious homemade scones, jam and cream later on.

This cruise left before their opposition and returned after the opposition had packed up their boat for the day - a good 3 and a half hour cruise.

This is a must see for the south west WA traveller.

It is a real eye opener and there is no glossing over what was done here.

The guided tour is a great introduction to the place - with a very knowledgeable guide - then you can go around at your leisure to take in the plant.

The skeleton hall is a must see - especially the massive frame of the pigmy blue whale.

The displays are well set out and there is a lot of information to take in.

What an excellent park. It has everything!

There is a large solar heated pool and a spa beside it with water at about 30 degrees.

There is an excellent recreation centre at one end with heaps of games including a pool table, table tennis table and an air hockey table.

At the other end is a magnificent camp kitchen with barbeque, hotplates, fridge, softdrink vending machine and sink. In a room adjoining it are tables, a big screen TV and a wood fired heater.

The sites have massive slabs with enough room to park on and step out onto.

The amenities are clean (with fresh flowers in there) and the showers are excellent.

The location is perfect - rright on the beach and you can hear the waves breaking at night.

This review is for Rivermouth Caravan Park, Denmark WA

verified email - 18 Aug 2013

The location of this park is spectacular - right at the mouth of the Denmark River.

The park was a bit soggy when we visited - in August but we got a nice high and dry site. The sites have gravel to park on, a slab and grass.

The amenities are not the most modern but they are clean and well cared for.

There is an open camp kitchen at the end of the amenities block. It has everything but it appears that you have to pay to use the hotplates.

This review is for Coalmine Beach Holiday Park, Walpole WA

verified email - 18 Aug 2013

This is a lovely park right on the clifftop over Coalmine Beach. There are steps down to this peaceful little beach.

The park is in natural bushland - National Park and has abundant birdlife and kangaroos.

The sites are on tan bark under the shade of trees.

We visited in August and got the super cheap rate!
