I love this place. It is always busy which is a review in itself. It is not a place for a romantic dinner. The service is quick and the portions are very generous, so be careful you don't order more than you can eat.

Great local vietnamese cafe
Phos, hotpots, broken rice, salads, dumplings, noodles.
You want it, they have it (provided it is traditional vietnamese)
It is rustic but good quality, and fast.
Perfect for a casual meal.

Had dinner here last week for the first time. Beautiful food. Fresh and great service.. Not too badly priced either.

The flavours make this one of the best Vietnamese in the area. The service is a bit too fast if you want so sit & enjoy the evening but at the price they must need the turnover.

Vietstar is a favourite of ours for boozy dinners for birthdays etc meals are very cheap (decent sized entrees for around $8 and mains from $13) and only $1 pp corkage too. Meals are consistently yummy, and delivery is very prompt.

It's not a huge restaurant and can get quite noisy, and my only bugbear (given, it seems quite petty) is that when you order your meal they ask if you want rice, in a manner that suggests it's complimentary. A few people said yes when put on the spot, probably not thinking, but it wreaked a bit of havoc when we were paying the bill, with people not realising their rice cost extra. But I like the atmosphere, and the affordability, particuarly if you're with a big group. They're very accommodating, for sure (added extra table and chairs when more of our party arrived late). Will be more than happy to go back.

I know that this place has had a problem with the health inspector, but I figure that now they must be quite clean as they are in the department's orbit. I get takeaway from here - I like the beef & rice stick noodle soup & the prawn spring rolls. Hubby likes the fried fish of the day. We are very happy with our orders & have found nothing but the necessary ingredients in our food. Food is tasty & it is one of the better Vietnamese restaurants in the area

Reasonably priced (and tasty) food and very fast service. Its often quite busy as people know its good. Im vegetarian so sometimes find the choices on a menu quite limited but they were able to do practically everything without meat which is great!

Lunch time specials are great. The food is always fast, served at the right temperature and the staff a relatively friendly. Try their three colour drink (coconut milk, ice, kidney beans).

Approximate cost: $20

This place has been THE Vietnamese place on Glenferrie road for many years now because their food is great quality and tasty. But best of all the speed of their cooking is incredible. I usually only get take away there and the average wait time is about 3 mins after you order until you walk out the door with your freshly cooked food. I challenge anyone to get takeaway there and not be blown away with how fast they serve you!

Approximate cost: $20
