Ladro is a contemporary italian eatery focusing on pizza. It is edgy with a moody vibe, modern and slightly eclectic but not grunge.
The pizza is great, perfect every time I visit. They have also recently started serving up spit roast in rolls during the weekend. At $7, and served up with crispy crackle and artichoke aioli in delicious buns, it is a great casual yet gourmet lunch on the go.
Great local vietnamese cafe
Phos, hotpots, broken rice, salads, dumplings, noodles.
You want it, they have it (provided it is traditional vietnamese)
It is rustic but good quality, and fast.
Perfect for a casual meal.
Finally a thoroughly modern and cosmopolitan cafe that sells great pho.
The food is practically identical to what you would get in an traditional pho cafe in springvale - authentic.
The only difference is that you do not need to travel all the way out to the suburb, and you can enjoy your pho in much more multicultural and modern surrounds.
Expected a bistro level experience, got a restaurant quality night.
Hoohaa impressed me.
Service was friendly and attentive, and the food interesting and delicious. It was international and modern in style, with dishes such as pumpkin gnocchi and pork belly with potato galette.
Presentation was not forgotten either, and every dish carried an artistic flair.
A great new addition to the local area. Decent cafe with quality food and coffee. It is rather cavernous, but not completely devoid of character and atmosphere.
Unfortunately Meat & Wine Co did not impress. Given that they specialize in steak & ribs and have little else on the menu, I would have expected the steak to be of a very good quality. We had a porterhouse cut of MW's house bred grain fed beef. Whilst it was reasonable it did not blow me away, after consider the size and price. (note you also have to pay extra for sauce and anything you want to have with your steak, even if it is just a few leaves - the staff ask you very casually so you might not realise until getting your bill)
On the other hand, the burgers and ribs were very good. Flavoursome, juicy and quite well priced.
MW is a mid-range restaurant (in terms of delivery). I would recommend it for an average business meal, if you want good steak though, I'd recommend another steakhouse not far from it, because MW is not particularly cheap.
Absolutely loved it in every way. They have a variety of interesting lunch options. It is a cafe, but the standard of the food served, the atmosphere and decor, brings this place almost to the level of a contemporary modern bistro. I really liked how there was a range of items available on the menu from less substantive salads to more filling lunch options like burgers and baguettes filled with roasted and confit meats. The sweets display is lovely too, stocked with the usual + fashionable items ie cronuts, and looks to be made inhouse.
If there was a high fashion/couture world of cakes, then this would be it. I love the creations that come out of B&P. They are absolutely royal in taste, sight and smell.
And wonderfully creative - ie. Green tea & pistachio cake and mousse, layers of cassis gel, with a surrounding blanket of white chocolate ganache. Divine.
For a quick, convenient lunch that is nutritionally balanced, decently sized and does not leave a wallet filled with air instead of money... N Lee is perfect.
If the line is a problem, I suggest gathering together a group of friends/colleagues and taking it in turns to queue for the team.
Approximate cost: $6
