Nemesis is fantastic. Its definitely one of the best Melbourne MMA training gyms around. Everyone is friendly, there are no ego's and the trainers are excellent. The range of classes provided mean that there is something for everyone, from the extremely dedicated guys who fight regularly to the more casual attendees who train for fun/fitness (that me).

If you've ever thought about giving martial arts a go, this is the place.

The thought of walking into places filled with people I'm not familiar with really scares me. My experience at nemesis has been nothing but great and this is due to the extremely friendly & helpful environment. You walk into this place with no concrete goals and you walk out wanting to be the best that you can possibly be because of how inspiring and passionate your two coaches are (also your fellow classmates). I would most definitely recommend for anyone who is even the slightest bit interested in taking up martial arts, to start here. You not only feel safe and cared for but you are also welcomed with the many smiles and support of team members.
Trainers Philip Lai and Dennis Kelly are our highly respected coaches for Muay Thai and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. It is evident that they are passionate about what they do and this is easily communicated through their ability to present their specialty as a form of art rather than a bland set of techniques. Classes are very well structured, they cater to all ages and sizes and there is no criticism whatsoever. I dare you to come to one class, you're definitely going to want to come back for more. The nemesis fever is contagious!!

I've only been training at Team Nemesis in Melbourne for roughly six months and it is hands down the best MMA Melbourne training gym! After finding myself bored of repetitive gym training I enquired into MMA gyms having always been interested in doing kickboxing and was recommended to Nemesis by my cousin. I soon picked up Muay Thai (which is better than kickboxing) and I have never looked back.

I started with the 3 day trial and signed up as soon as it ended. My first day I felt intimidated as a female being in a mostly dominant male gym but I soon found out everyone was extremely friendly and more than willing to help me. The environment and atmosphere is very positive and you always feel welcomed and apart of a team, not just a member of a gym.

The trainers Phillip Lai and Denis Kelly are very knowledgeable trainers in their respective martial arts specialisation in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jiutsu and are continually encouraging and always there to help and assist you.

The classes are planned thoroughly that is suitable and adaptable for beginners. They are very diverse and I feel that I learn something new in each class.

As a female I highly encourage all women to join and not be afraid of 'getting hit' as what is commonly stereotyped about martial arts. I felt nervous at first and said those exact words but after regularly training I developed technique and defence skills that not only made me more confident but helped me when I had sparring rounds. The trainers are constantly encouraging more females to join and women are treated equally as men so don't expect anything less!

If you are interested in Martial arts and advancing join Team Nemesis as they incorporate a grading system.
The facilities and equipment are great so bring along a bottle and towel and come down to Team Nemesis.

Whether your goals are fitness, training or self-defence Team Nemesis is the place to be!
Did I mention it is heaps of fun?

Been training here for over 2 years. Love the the atmosphere and culture that the coaches have created. I have learned a lot and had heaps of fun in the process.
Approachable coaches that lead by example with plenty of knowledge and experience in the industry.
Their classes cater to everyone looking to take up a martial arts for competition, self defence, fitness or if you are just looking for a challenge.
Come in and check them out, they offer trail periods so you can't go wrong.

This is the place you want to train. This is where you going to learn and have heaps of fun along the way. As being a dedicated fitness enthusiast for over a decade trying many different gyms and martial arts centres I have finally found a place I can see myself going to for years. Im so glad I tried out the 3 day free trial because it may began my journey at achieving my fitness and fighting goals.

The range of training they offer is vast. Boxing classes, Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, Krav Maga and more. Every class Ive attended has been challenging and fun. Every class I learn something, my fitness gets pushed to the limit and I drive home with a smile on my face.

One of the best things about this place is how humble everyone who trains and teachers at Nemesis are. There are no Egos, everyone is very friendly and welcoming.

The trainers here are great. They have the experience to backup the training and you can tell by just looking at them.
Amazing gym, amazing teachers, amazing students. What more can I say.

Joining Nemesis is the best thing I did this year. I did a bit of Muay Thai as part of my personal training. After my trainer retired I trialled a class at a different gym. It left me with serious bruises all over my body which put me off the idea of doing classes. After a few months I found myself still interested in Muay Thai so I searched a lot of gyms, read a lot of reviews and decided to go with Nemesis. I was extremely nervous at the start, however everyone was so friendly, kind and helpful that they completely changed my view on classes within a few minutes. The coaches are very knowledgeable and welcoming. They know everyone by name!:) Every class at Nemesis is so enjoyable. I feel extremely lucky that such a great gym is close to where I live. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I would highly recommend Nemesis to everyone. No matter how old you are, whether you are a guy or a girl, whether you have any previous experience or not, Nemesis is the gym for you. P.S I'm a female :)

The best quality about Nemesis is the friendly atmosphere. I felt very nervous taking up a martial art without any previous experience, but as soon you walk in the doors at Nemesis everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Being new everyone is very patience with you and will help you out. I would recommend Nemesis to everyone, if you're looking to have fun while getting fit, learning something new or even if you would like to get serious with martial arts.

I'm now 40 years of age, I used to train as a boxer when I was younger, I was looking to get back into the sport or some sort of martial arts training, went to a few gyms around Melbourne and found them to be a bit intimidating, and not real friendly ,found nemesis to be totally the opposite, my wife now trains there too, they really know there stuff, I wouldn't hesitate in referring any one to team nemeses

My experience at Nemesis MMA has been nothing but positive. I was initially looking for a gym to start training in Muay Thai but it has become so much more than that. The culture is friendly and the other members are really encouraging. The coaches are very knowledgeable and are interested in seeing their members achieve their goals. Not only is this a gym where you will end up training hard and getting fit and healthy, but you will meet great people and form new friendships. Would really recommend this gym to all females who are interested in joining a MMA gym – you won't look back.

One of the qualities that sets Nemesis Martial Arts apart from other gyms is its team atmosphere and coaches. Denis Kelly and Philip Lai are well respected coaches in the martial arts scene and their positive attitudes reflect are upon their students. This is the reason why some days I travel close to an hour to train at Nemesis Martial Arts.
