I've only been training at Team Nemesis in Melbourne for roughly six months and it is hands down the best MMA Melbourne training gym! After finding myself bored of repetitive gym training I enquired into MMA gyms having always been interested in doing kickboxing and was recommended to Nemesis by my cousin. I soon picked up Muay Thai (which is better than kickboxing) and I have never looked back.

I started with the 3 day trial and signed up as soon as it ended. My first day I felt intimidated as a female being in a mostly dominant male gym but I soon found out everyone was extremely friendly and more than willing to help me. The environment and atmosphere is very positive and you always feel welcomed and apart of a team, not just a member of a gym.

The trainers Phillip Lai and Denis Kelly are very knowledgeable trainers in their respective martial arts specialisation in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jiutsu and are continually encouraging and always there to help and assist you.

The classes are planned thoroughly that is suitable and adaptable for beginners. They are very diverse and I feel that I learn something new in each class.

As a female I highly encourage all women to join and not be afraid of 'getting hit' as what is commonly stereotyped about martial arts. I felt nervous at first and said those exact words but after regularly training I developed technique and defence skills that not only made me more confident but helped me when I had sparring rounds. The trainers are constantly encouraging more females to join and women are treated equally as men so don't expect anything less!

If you are interested in Martial arts and advancing join Team Nemesis as they incorporate a grading system.
The facilities and equipment are great so bring along a bottle and towel and come down to Team Nemesis.

Whether your goals are fitness, training or self-defence Team Nemesis is the place to be!
Did I mention it is heaps of fun?
