Meg had bloods done yesterday sadly elevated liver enzymes. Vet suggested a scan 500 plus dollars . Have spent thousands over the past 19 yrs. Meg sadly went downhill rapidly within 12 hours of seeing a vet Friday to the point her breathes went from 18 a minute to over 40 so we got peaceful paws out she saw one look at her bloods and knew there was nothing more we could do thankfully My beautiful Meg is now at peace don't think I could ever use this vet service again . I am heart broken but so thankful to peaceful paws

Absolutely love this vet ! My Great Dane gets oodles of cuddles , pats and love from the nurses every visit !!! They make you feel that your pup is in the best of hands and the docs are never in rush to push you out the door .

$185 for a visit with extra charges for any medication or special attention is absolutely outrageous, even if it was Saturday evening. It's obvious what is the most important issue to the owner/owners and it certainly is not animals health and safety. They disgust me.

I'm give this place zero stars and the staff gave different info and was very disrespectful, I took a bird in.over the weekend that had been attached by a cat , was told it would be treated free of charge and I could pick it up today and bring it.home and look after it once I got there today they told me I could not take it unless I payed the bill . This is not right and very wrong I'm don't recommend any one taking your pets there, or rescue animals to this place in morphett Vale. They.should be shut down.

I have been coming here with my pets (dogs and cat) for many years.
They have seen us in happy times for routine check ups, vaccinations, desexing and puppy pre-school etc. emergencies ( 5 month d Maltese x ShihTzu had an allergic reaction to a bite), thanks to their prompt and caring response they saved her, at the same time ensuring I was ok.
At those times we all dread when we need to assist our our babies to cross the rainbow bridge all the staff are so kind, gentle and caring to the owner and the furbaby always allowing as much time as needed.
And I love that they make contact the next day to ensure eveeything is going well.
I would not go anywhere else and definitely recommend Southern Animal Hospital at Morphett Vale.

I have only ever experienced gold star treatment at the Southern Animal Hospital. I have always been treated with nothing but care & compassion. All staff there fro vets to nurses are knowledgable that are there to provide the best for my pet. My animals are always happy to go for a visit, regardless of their condition because they treat my animals like they are pets of their own! The below statement of "greed before care" is unfortunate but sadly there is no PBS for our pets, so if your pet requires treatment that exceeds what you can afford don't blame them for your lack of funds. You most certainly get what you pay for & there it is gold class standard veterinary care.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with the glowing reports here.

This clinic is a "greed before care" business, and I believe people have a right to know.

When a vet clinic tells a family in distress over the phone that unless they can pay fees up front, their 12 week old kitten - in sudden distress with no obvious signs of cause - wouldn't be seen to, then there's something terribly wrong with their ethics.

That's exactly what this clinic did, leaving 3 young children traumatized and inconsolable at witnessing the painful and inexplicable death of their kitten.

An emergency, by it's very nature, requires immediate attention, not wasting precious time pushing a money agenda. Life before greed.

But for this particular clinic, that family's kitten just might still be alive.

Hands down the best vet we have ever been too, all staff are friendly, helpful and compassionate. they even gave me a call a week later to check on the 'patient', I could not of been happier. They have no problem if you want to call and check on what you were told and they are always keen to help. Can not recommend theses guys enough.

I had to bring my poor puppy here to get his eye operated on due to his hair matting over his eye. they took such good care of him and we had him home within the day. they also got him bathed an clipped for us. the veterinarian was very reassuring and friendly and made us feel like our puppy was in the best hands. It is a little pricy but does offer an interest free solution if you do not have the money on hand which is great. overall i am happy with the outcome and would defiantly take my dogs back there again

My elderly Chihuahua became ill not long ago, and I was beside myself with sadness. She had stopped eating and was not moving around d much. The nurses and vet were very considerate toward my feelings, and gave my dog the best care possible. Unfortunately I had to euthanasia my little one. I'd had her for 15 years. I was devistated, the staff were so kind and supported me through my difficult decision. Once the procedure was done they allowed me to just hold my baby and say goodbye. A sad experience, but without the care and comfort from the wonderful staff I would not have coped at all.
