Given a chance to support a local butcher over one the the supermarket duopolies should be reason enough to visit Canning's.

Canning's also have a great selection of ethically reared and killed meat, they're carbon neutral and service is great!

More reasons? Well their steak and sausages are a standout for me.

Good cuts good range and good service. Free range and mostly organic really works for me. You CAN taste the difference at Cannings!!

Particular recommendations:
Ham - pay a little extra and enjoy proper ham, not the watery rubbish from the supermarkets
Bacon - nicely smoked, great taste
Marinated King George whiting fillets- great with some of the parsley and garlic marinated prawns

They also have one of the best app's of any store I have seen - even the big corporates - I highly recommend these guys!

I went out of my way to visit this shop to buy sausages. You would think that finding a decent snag would be relatively easy but that hasn't really been our experience until now. We have found a couple of places with reasonably good snags but the snags from Cannings are the best we have tried so far. They are tasty without being too salty, and when cooked they don't ooze with fat. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the prices are really good too.

Finally, a real butcher with real meat, fantastic range and friendly service!! Truly, the FlavoUR is fantastic & SO much better. If you're happy to pay a little more for much better quality & more ethically produced products - this is your new butcher!

Have bought meat from Cannings a half dozen times now and each time has been a winner. Top quality produce. The staff are very knowledgable and give great advice about purchases. Keep up the good work Cannings!
