Ruined our anniversary dinner

I booked at the C Restaurant as I knew it was the type of restaurant that would add something nice to celebrate my our wedding anniversary. After we had finished our meal, and before we left our table to settle the bill, I purposely sat at the table with my wife for approx. 10+ minutes to see if something was going to happen, like a nice little something that would help us celebrate our special day. But nothing did. So, we settled the bill and I asked why they did nothing for the anniversary, despite explicitly adding that to my booking, twice (selection, and in the free text field). The Duty Manager said, “the plate is on the bill”. I asked, “what plate ?”. And then he realized nothing had happened, and casually apologized while charging my card. It was an embarrassment for both my wife and I, and made the C Restaurant look like ill-managed, non-caring, and fake high-class destination that will charge $200+ to be the destination of choice to spend our anniversary that failed to deliver in the worst way

After emailing the restaurant about our disappointment, I received a follow-up phone call from the restaurant manager who ended the call by hanging up on me, after she emphasized it was a "free extra" and there's nothing she can do about it

Not that we dine at McDonald's, but we would get better after-sales service at 10% of the cost. This restaurant is an over-priced tourist destination managed by people who do not value their customers

Well what a disappointment! It was my 73 birthday, and my granddaughter booked in her dad and I and herself for a High Tea on Monday 22nd August 2022 at C Restaurant.
I use to frequent the [censored] when it opened in 1978, and it was always an amazing experience.
This without a doubt was the poorest excuse for a High Tea for me, in the last 70 years.
• We were seated and my cup was visibly dirty and used, with lipstick on the rim.
• We ordered our tea and green tea came out rather than English Breakfast.
• My son who drinks coffee ordered a coffee, and within 30 minutes ordered another. We are still waiting for it as it never came, though of course we were charged for it.
• The cucumber sandwiches, were made with stale dry bread
• The pies were dry inside, and of poor quality
• The scones were dry and stale
• The quality of the cakes was disgusting
• We asked our designated waiter half a dozen time for butter and one coffee, and the answer was that the chef had to prepare them, seriously, the butter had to be prepared. Did you have a churn out back?
• The staff were totally inexperienced, and possessed poor communication skills.
• The term comes to mind, you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

Without a doubt my worst experience in a restaurant. I am well aware there is a huge shortage of hospitality staff Australia wide, but a high end restaurant like yours should be able to source good staff with the proper salary.

I have been a cook for over 50 years and I can assure you, what you served my family that day, belonged in the garbage bin.
And to add insult to injury , they refuse to accept there is a problem and say not responsible for poor quality food or poorly trained staff, seriously ?????

This is great for a special occasion and I have been several times. The food is nice but really expensive. It's good value to just come for a cocktail and nibbles as you still get the awesome view (and it IS AWESOME) for a fraction of the price of the full dinner. Definitely worth a look.

The team were pretty friendly and the food was good but I am not sure if I'd give it 5 star. One waiter was very friendly and helped make our night special, thanks.

I expected a very classy, high-quality experience. I was not disappointed but I wasn't blown away either.

The meal sizes were good. We had a two-course meal for $88. I had gnocchi and sticky date pudding. Serving sizes were excellent and the food was delicious. They had no worries changing cream for ice cream on my dessert.

We estimated the restaurant makes one complete revolution every hour and twenty minutes and it certainly makes for a unique experience with breath-taking views of Perth's light-filled cityscape. We also had a magician come past our table.

The staff were friendly and efficient. However, we waited a long time for our dessert orders to come out and had two mishaps with orders coming out incorrectly--an entree gnocchi came instead of a main and one wrong dessert. Both were promptly replaced.

I would definitely go again.

Approximate cost: $88
