Excellent atmosphere, good quality and variety of continental food.
Food courts are excellent to eat at. Ideal place if you want a coffee and cake.
Good quality meats most of the time but a little pricey some times. The eggs ar egood value though as is offal like liver and kidneys. Staff are generally helpful.
I actually meant to rate O'Connell meats in the market and managed to bugger it up, so there you go. This is meant for O'Connell meats in the market.
Really good place but you have to shop around as some of the market stores can charge higher than others. Also a good place if you find it difficult to find specialist type foods and meats. Great atmosphere well worth a visit
It was just alright as the food didn't really taste that wonderful for me. However, it is worth to try it out as others may like it, which I think Soy Sauce Chicken is people's personal favourite there.
Approximate cost: $10
Having grown up in SA, visiting the Central Market weekly for the groceries with my parents, I can highly recommend it. The Seven Brothers stall was the family favourite - the cashier would always round our total bill down by several dollars at the end. As a kid, I was amazed at the incredible array of foods available at the Central Market and particularly loved the shops selling cheese and small goods. If you like making pizzas at home, you must buy the small good "ends" - all the ends and offcuts from cured meats - perfect mix for pizza and cheap too. It's good to shop at the end of the day before the market closes - lots of bargains to be made. If you've never been to the Central Markets, you must go!
The market is full of many surprises. I like the fact that there is so much variety there & great compedative prices. The meat at o'connels is always cheaper than supermarkets and the service is really great
The amazing variety of produce is simply amazing and the price is also a nice bonus. Despite the frequent crowds and hordes of people, customer service still manages to succeed.
I have been to a few markets in my day and I must say that the Adelaide Central Market is amazing. It's a must visit place for first timer visitors to Adelaide and one must be there to experience the vibrant, exotic and unique atmosphere. Oh,and great bargains too!
A must visit for any one visiting Adelaide, this place has EVERYTHING under one roof in the CBD of Adelaide. Its like a country market but in the city.
