The most pathetic organisation I have ever come across. Purchased 2 items at different auctions and items never sent. Keep chasing up on the phone and given excuse after excuse about it will be done in the next 24 hours etc. . A week later, still nothing done and have to chase up again. Told again 24 hours and it will be done. Of course, it was not fixed and had to call again. Items were then sent. When they arrived there were items missing back on the phones again to fix. I was silly enough to purchase an item in the mean time again from Abbeys. No surprise they did not send it again and had to chase it up. How are they still in business? Every time you buy something they don't deliver it. The only person you can escalate your problem to is a a guy named "Tom" who won’t answer his phone.

Approximate cost: $400

Myself and my family been using Abbeys for over seven years.
We are more than impressed with their quality of service.
So exciting to see the wonderful quality variety on offer.
We would be lost without them.

Sold a lot of furniture through them, it ended up costing me money. I would have made a few thousand selling it on ebay. My mistake never again. Be aware and I would suggest using another sales outlet such as ebay or marketplace etc.

Approximate cost: $1

Would be the biggest mistake of your life dealing with these morons they sell your goods for hardly anything and charge like a wounded bull ,take your stuff to jacks antiques and get a good price and paid straight away

Deceitful. Mixed up the Australia post auction for charity with their own things for auction so we thought we were contributing to a charity but you really we weren't. Gave us a "valuation" but it was a fake piece of paper.

The guys working there seemed friendly and helpful which is a good thing but when I was handed my goods (I bought via internet bidding) they were smashed up! So my advice is to be very careful as to what you are buying as they don't necessarily reveal any damage to their merchandise. I will still bid at abbeys but you do need to be careful when buying via internet.

This business is run by rough, un-professional people who are rudely arrogant in every way. They treat you like dirt, and then lead you up the garden path, before then pouring more dirt onto you. They make promises that are never kept, and basically seem to just try to cheat and rip you off.

I was promised by the manager that my goods would be accepted then when I travelled to the site to hand them over for auction, and when the manager was not there, one of these staff members as good as said this is rubbish take this junk home. He was an obnoxious nasty person. These were rare books of which the manager had already pre-approved.

Friendly helpful staff who explained the auction process when I went to buy. Lots of interesting household items and collectables every week. I've now sold things through Abbeys as well and this was a quick and easy process.

this is the polar opposite of how I found the staff to be. They were rude, arrogant, nasty, stand-over and pushy when the manager had already agreed to take my lot their staff-member then refused to do so.

I'd not really considered an Auction as a place to buy things for my house but after experiencing an Abbeys Auction I'm now a convert. Every Friday they have an auction room jam packed full of everything you can imagine. The range of goods is huge and includes antiques, good condition second hand items and some new things from wholesalers. The team at Abbeys are cheerful and really helpful. I went on viewing day ( they are open on Thursday for viewings till 7pm) to look for a sofa and they gave me an indication of what price range my item would fall into and what time it would be auctioned. I then went back on the Friday Auction day to bid (which was a real buzz) and I ended up with a fabulous original 1970 retro sofa and two comfy arm chairs, in perfect mint condition, for only $400. Plus a couple of other great bargains. I'm definitely going back for more!

Approximate cost: $really great prices
