This review is for Myers St Family Medical Practice, Geelong VIC

Myers Street Medical is open late, so I have been there a number of times when I have needed to see someone out of business hours. It is not a bulk billing clinic, so be prepared to pay a fee, and there is usually a bit of a wait to be seen too. On one visit I had to wait a couple of hours, and this was very late at night.

This review is for Hale And Hearty Cafe, Belmont VIC

Hale And Hearty Cafe is located in the same building as Kardinia Medical Clinic. It is very convenient to pop in for a coffee, cold drink or lunch before or after a medical appointment. I find the women who work there to be very friendly, but I always seem to get the impression that they have never run a cafe before, and are learning as they go. I have never seen the place busy, yet there always seems a long wait before getting served. I have also found that tables are not cleared after customers leave, and I had to sit for my whole meal with someone else's dirty plates shoved to the side. The hot food I ordered was just reheated in the microwave, and was not good. I'd only get drinks in future.

This review is for Soft Sands, Geelong VIC

I was a bit of a regular at Soft Sands because I really liked their roast meat sandwiches with gravy. I was usually served by the same woman, and was always happy with my order. The last time I got one I was served by a different girl, and I didn't watch her prepare my sandwich. I got it as take away and left. When I bit into it I got a mouthful of bread and fat. I opened the sandwich and saw she had not trimmed the fat from the piece of meat, and she had actually put a whole slice of fat in my sandwich that had close to no meat at all. I felt sick just looking at it and threw it away. As I was on my lunch break I did not have time to go back and complain, or to get anything else. These sandwiches are not cheap either, so I was very annoyed. I will go back, and tell them what happened so they can train their new staff not to do this again. I still would recommend them overall, the rest of my experiences there have been great.

This review is for Mexican Graffiti, Geelong VIC

verified email - 30 May 2013

The last time I went to Mexican Graffiti was for my birthday. I was taken there for a surprise, and had no idea what I was going to order because I really didn't feel like having Mexican. I was very pleased to see that they have other meals on the menu, and I chose the t-bone steak with mushroom sauce. I was happy with my meal. I think Mexican Graffiti is a good place for families or perhaps a group booking, but wouldn't be my choice for a romantic meal.

This review is for Hong Kong Cuisine, Geelong VIC

I had never been inside Hong Kong Cuisine before, although I walk past it often. I felt like having some steamed dim sims, so I decided to give them a try today. The cafe was mostly empty. The place isn't flashy, many of the signs are hand written. I decided to get the steamed dim sims, three for $3.00, and some chicken wings. The man serving me was very friendly. He gave me a deal, $5.00 for everything I ordered. The prices overall are very cheap. While he was getting my order ready I looked at the other food on display. Nothing really appealed to me, it looked like it had been sitting for some time. The dim sims were different than I expected, not like store bought. They were round and larger than regular ones. The outside was quite thick, but the inside was very nice. Not too bad if you are looking for a cheap lunch option.

This review is for Reef And River Aquatics, East Geelong VIC

verified email - 28 May 2013

I have purchased both a snake and a lizard from Reef And River. They are very knowledgeable, and more than happy to give advice. They have fish, aquariums, reptiles and enclosures. I have found that some other places around Geelong are cheaper for reptile food, but Reef And River are the best for buying reptiles. I love looking at the salt water fish display when I go in.

This review is for Werribee Open Range Zoo, Werribee VIC

verified email - 28 May 2013

Werribee Open Range Zoo is my favorite zoo because you get to see the animals in a way that is the closest to their natural habitat as possible. Part of the visit is done on a Safari Bus that takes you into the actual enclosures. You can also arrange to do close encounter tours where you get up closer with the animals. These are great for photography to. I can't wait to go back again!

This review is for Palace Of The Orient Chinese Restaurant, Geelong VIC

This is a fun place for a function. I have been for christmas breakups and going away parties, and the staff have always looked after us well. There is a good variety of food to choose from. As I am friends with a number of singers, we love the karaoke!

This review is for Just Cuts, Geelong VIC

verified email - 27 May 2013

I have only had my hair done once at Just Cuts. I usually go to more expensive salons, but I wanted a simple trim done quickly. While I was getting my hair cut I noticed there was a lot of cut hair left unswept all over the floor, which made me question the hygiene of the place. I don't think I would return because of this. The girl who cut my hair did do a good job though, considering they only wet it down with a spray bottle. Good prices if you are on a budget.

This review is for Aradale Ghost Tours, Ararat VIC

verified email - 26 May 2013

We did the Aradale Ghost Tour last night at 8pm. I really exploring the old buildings and hearing all of the stories. Our tour guide was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The only drawback we found were the other people on the tour. There were about 30 people on the tour. The other tours I have done have kept numbers smaller than this. Some of the other people on the tour were talking loudly, giggling like school children, wondering off, cracking jokes and acting in a way that was very distracting. Whenever we left a room people were lagging behind and trying to make "ghost" noises. It wasn't funny the first time, yet alone the tenth time. When leaving the kitchen area one woman screamed so loudly that one of my ears was ringing. The tour guide had to ask people to be quiet at least twice as the rest of us could not hear. I felt at times that I was stuck on a tour with naughty teenagers instead of adults, and it was very irritating. I would recommend the tour overall, but maybe check the size of the group you will be with, and aim for a small group.
