Pooches on Pakington offers dog grooming services, but also has a big range of products for dogs. There is a table covered with cake stands that are filed with dog treats in the shape of café foods. There are doggie lamingtons and iced vovo biscuits, chocolate bones, hamburgers and hot dogs. The treats are made with carob, so safe for dogs to eat. You can also get doggie ice cream, bedding, books, cards, grooming products, collars and toys among other things. The perfect shop for dog lovers!

This is the best ice cream and gelato I have ever had! I have got friends to travel to Melbourne just to try it. It is so hard picking what flavours to get, but they will give you samples while you choose. If you love chocolate flavoured ice creams you will be in heaven! I go for the fruit gelato, like passionfruit and lychee. So yummy.

This place is a nice options if you need something for a quick meal while out getting the groceries. Their chips and gravy are such good value with heaps of gravy! There are usually lunch time specials, and meal deals if you need to feed the family.

This review is for Geelong Fresh Foods Cafe, Geelong West VIC

Geelong Fresh Foods now have a café at their front entrance. They are usually busy doing coffee for people, I have heard people say the coffee is excellent, but I go there for the food. There is a big collection of healthier options slices by No Numbers, and they stock Raw Ambition salads. The Chop Salad is my favourite! There are other cakes and rolls etc, but I love the salads so much that I get them every time. Great friendly service, and you can pick up your fresh fruit and veg at the same place.

We decided to go to the Belmont Hotel for dinner on New Years Eve. I was very pleased to find many gluten free options on the menu. I ordered the scotch fillet with pepper sauce, which was delicious. Everyone else's meals looked delicious too. One of our group ordered the lamb salad, and it was massive! Our waitress was lovely too.

I have only been to Café Go once for coffee, but I would love to go back. The coffee was great, and the atmosphere was buzzing. I found I couldn't stop looking around at all of the interesting frames and things hanging from the walls. It has a very quirky feel, and is a place I would definitely recommend.

This review is for Lets-A-Loaf, Newcomb VIC

Lets-A-Loaf is a local bakery in Bellarine Shopping Centre. I decided to try them not long after they opened, so purchased a pie and a few other things. I was disappointed to find the pie was barely warm, which is something that worries me when you hear so many stories about people getting sick from take away food not being kept at the right temperatures. I have not purchased hot food from there since, but can recommend them for their range of cakes. If you are into the Nutella doughnut craze you can purchase them here by the box. They also have all of the other classics filled with cream and custard. I don't know what their coffee is like, but I know they have good a loyalty card for regular coffee drinkers too.

This review is for Green Mamma, Rippleside VIC

Green Mamma can organise home delivery for organic produce, but they also have a little store and café. I have had a few of their paleo friendly desserts, and they are fabulous! I also recommend following them on instagram so you can find out about their specials like a whole box of organic bananas for $25 or mixed boxes they call fridge fillers. The owners are so friendly and helpful, it's the kind of family business you want to support.

This review is for Organic Mojo, Newtown VIC

verified email - 27 Dec 2015

Organic Mojo offer organic fruit and vegetables, meat, frozen goods, drinks, sweets and groceries. I have sometimes been a bit put off by their produce, finding mouldy fruit and veg that is still on display, so try to shop when fresh items arrive. I mostly shop there for refrigerated items like kefir, kombutcha, fermented vegetables and cashew cheese. They usually have a really good range of these. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.

This review is for Natural Wholefoods, Northcote VIC

I came across Natural Wholefoods at a paleo market. They have a website where you can order paleo friendly meals (that non paleo people will love just as much as paleo peeps) to have delivered to your home, or your gym if you do cross fit. I have tried 5 of their meals, and the only one I wasn't overly keen on was their green curry (too much coconut shavings). The rest of the meals were awesome. I can't believe they make reheated food taste so good! The other options on the website sound great too, and there are so many meals to choose from. There are no additives, it is just fresh cooked food. I recommend them to people who want convenience and healthy options.
