This place is quite new --- the karaoke rooms are much cleaner and fresher than most other places i've been, nice lighting and decor, very sound-proof walls. There is a touch-screen panel to select songs, which is much easier to use than some other places that use the old type of remote control tv.

The place is BYO, so would work out cheap if you have large group of alcoholics!

Came here for the first time with friends - the place is very small and fitout is quite basic - luckily my friend booked a table so we get to sit inside - there is a few table outside situated in what appears to be a dark alleyway, which didn't look like a comfortable and place to eat!

The sashimi is quite fresh, sushi rolls are great! Some side dishes (e.g. karage chicken) are disappointing small in size; and I found their soft shell crab a bit over-deepfried and seasoned in a rather strange manner. Price is reasonable.

If the place was bigger with better decor, and if the dish sizes were a bit bigger, then the place would've been perfect!

Hot cake house sells Taiwanese small hot cakes. You can get one for just 80cent - lots of different flavours to choose from like custard, sesame, red bean etc. my faovurite is the cheese and corn. They now have newer flavours, more 'gourmet' like, at around $1.40 each, like strawberry cream and belgian chocolate. I have tried most of them and they all taste good.

Great snack while you're doing your shopping - sometime s when I don't want to carry too many coins in my pocket I come here to use them all up and treat myself to a nice hot cake! My taiwanese friends says the ones in Taiwan are better (they said it should be crunchy on the outisde not soft) but it's good enough for me!

You can find Sushi paradise in the middle of Sunnybank Plaza foodcourt. Unlike other sushi takeaways that use machine to roll up sushi or transport pre-made sushi to the store, they actually do everything on-site. You can easily spot the kitchen/work bench behind the counter - they always have 3-4 girls cooking rice and rolling sushi. They even have a sign that tells customer their sushi making time to ensure freshness. I see many nearby office workers buy their lunch here. I love all the sushi there (except the Karage chicken) my favourite being the lobster salad,.

We used to come here often for meat, but kind of forgot about it since more and more shops opened closer to where we live. They other day we went passed and decided to go in -- this place is great for 'specialty asian' stuff that many other places don't have -- we bought some pork bones, chicken claws and duck wings -- cooked it for dinner and all tasted very fresh and delicious! And all very reasonably priced too! Will be coming here more often now.

This is a Dine-in/takeaway japanese place - most choices on the menu are 'lunch-box' sets. I have purchased their take-aways several times - for the portion and type of food they serve I find it a bit pricy.

However, I must say they have THE CHEAPEST takoyaki!!! I am a huuuge fan of takoyaki and they sell 5 for $1.50!!! It's so yummmmmmy~ the only thing missing is the seaweed topping, but for this low price I can't compalin! And for take-away they won't let you order more than 1 serve, which is a shame :(

I have been here twice for yum cha in the last 2 months - I've found they have a good variety of dim sum and all of high standard - I prefer this place over most other yum cha places in Sunnybank. Staff are pleasant; parking can be a bit difficult to find even on a weekday during lunch hour, but there is some off-street parking.

I came with some friends a few months ago on a cold weekday night for hot pot - it was my first time to this place. The place was absolutely empty at around 6pm when we arrived. We were a bit confused about how to order - the hot pot menu was separated into 'mains' (e.g. beef, fish etc.) and 'sides'(veg, dumplings etc.), we asked the waiter for some clarification but was still a bit confused. Anyhow we each ordered a main (I ordered fish and my friends ordered beef) and ordered several sides.

We each get our own individual pot; turned out each "main" actually came with a bowl of rice, and a plate of assorted veg and dumpling/fish balls, so it was quite unnecessary for us to order extra sides (unless you really want the extra serving).

Disappointingly there were no sauces to choose from- we were each given a plate of soy sauce with some garnish - I asked them if they had other stuff (e.g. oyster/hoisin/sesame) and they said no.

The fish was very ordinary, beef was nice - tender and better than other hot pot places.

When we left the place was still 70% empty, but the jap restaurant opposite was packed! Next time we know where to go......

I have been here twice - 1st time came for dinner and ordered mains, quality was average. 2nd time it was because they had a $2/plate sushi promotion - which felt like a total scam because all the sushi were 99%cheap ones (e.g. fried chicken, tuna, california roll etc.) the only 1 or2 plates of decent sushi (e.g. salmon sashi) that i could manage to get was severely downsized. I have been to other sushi places where they had similar promotions and they still had genuine good quality and wide range of sushi, unlike Kinsei.

We have been to this restaurant countless times for dinners and yum cha. Overall quality is consistently good, serving size reasonably generous and good value overall. The 2nd area that had been renovated about 2 years ago looks great and much better than the old area.
