This is a nice cafe which used to be a post office. The cuisine is modern Australian, and the decor is very lovely and tasteful, with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. I went in for lunch and had a pumpkin risotto which was tasty and offered in quite a big serving. The price was reasonable too, for a cafe of this sort, (it was around $15). I thought the meal was great value for money. The service was good too, and the staff were friendly. This is one of the better cafes in Marrickville. Best of all, I really love the atmosphere the cafe offers- it's great to sit outside in the sun and relax. A good place to meet up for a chat, and there were plenty of mums and old folk, having a meal and a sit down. Highly recommended, especially if you are dining with company.

I was recommended D&D by a friend. They are awesome. I had a stylish hair cut and walked out feeling really good. I would recommend this to anyone. Very professional, funky salon- I am sure that I will come here again when I'm looking for a good quality cut. Experience was a little pricey, but well worth it.

This is a great hairdressers. I went in for a cut (which included wash and dry) for $20. I was satisfied with my shorter look, and the price was good value for money. A plus was that I was served as soon as I got in. The staff are really friendly and salon itself is tasteful and modern.

Approximate cost: $20

This is a recently opened shop located opposite the Woolworths. I went in for a haircut which costed around $10 and I was pretty happy with it. It was really cheap and the lady who cut my hair was friendly and efficient. A nice little salon, with a modest and homely look. I would recommend this for those who are looking for a bargain.

This place offers delicious food, and is packed with students every time I drop in. The lunch specials are attractive, round the $7 to $8 mark, which is very cheap. Could do with a facelift, though- the shop is quite small, old and not really a pleasant place to dine in - does not do justice to the great food! The friendly and efficient staff may compensate for this latter flaw however.

This restaurant has a nice bright interior, and a nice vibe to it. The food is okay, but I found it a little too salty and sweet. Perhaps they could tone it down a little. Prices were reasonable, and one of the things I did enjoy were the fish cakes for $7.

Great food and really fast and efficient service. I loved the Tom Kha coconut milk chicken soup, it is a very aromatic, wonderfully flavoured soup brimming with all kinds of herbs. It was around $8, which I thought was cheap for such a flavoursome soup! Highly recommended place to eat

This is a fantastic Thai restaurant. I've been here twice and I was really impressed by the quality and taste of the food- authentic, spicy, and fresh. A day after I had the laksa, I was craving for it. Really nice food at very reasonable prices - you can get nice food for under $10. The staff are smiley and friendly which is another plus.

This Thai eatery is quietly tucked away just off Broadway. It's a great place if you're looking for somewhere a bit quieter. The most attractive part of this eatery for me is the lunch specials starting at $7.90. My favourite is the Kad Pao, a traditional thai fried rice dish with lots of veggies. Filling, yummy, and good value for money.

I've been here a few times and I really like this restaurant. I had a Chicken karage Bento Box, which was about $25. It was well presented, and the chicken was very tasty. The service was good as well. The only downside is that some of the staff were not Japanese (I think they were speaking Korean), which is a little disappointing, but only a minor flaw, if you can call it that. Otherwise, a great restaurant, highly recommended.
