I was rather disappointed by my Brazilian Wax at Brazilica

The staff is very friendly and chatty. They make you feel at ease and that's great. However, I think they're not skilled enough at the waxing and at using hard wax.

Brazilica uses hard wax for their Brazilian Waxes but they apply to thick a layer and it took a long time to harden. Not all the fine hairs came off. The waxer didn't apply a pre-epilation oil to ensure the wax adhered.

The Brazilian was sloppy and clumsy. It took too long and was more painful than it should have been. She had to pluck out many hairs because the fine hairs didn't come off. It wasn't as meticulous a job as I had hoped it would be.

I've been going to the Wax Parlour in Fitzroy North and am very satisfied with my wax over there.

I've been to Zipzip wax in the CBD and Brazilica on Smith st. but I find The Wax Parlour provides a FAR more professional, faster and friendlier service. Here's why:

The owner Mel is friendly, professional and highly skilled at waxing. Unlike other wax places, you keep your underwear on. Besides it being more hygienic, it also allows the skin to be pulled tight and ensures you get excellent and even results. Another plus is that she uses talc powder to ensure the difficult or thin hairs come off. She's very thorough and meticulous which is I like. She applies thin layers of wax so the waxing is quick and painless (as far as that's possible).

She uses a professional grade, fast drying hard wax ideal for Brazilian waxing.
