I have passed here again and again for years meaning to call in, then they seemed to shut down. On opening again it had been refurbished so I was told yesterday (friday Lunch), with a new Kitchen and other things throughout the bar and Dining room's.

There is always a sign out front when it is open and they are only Closed on a Sunday and Monday.

On first walking in I felt the ambiance of this amazing little bar with its canara firebox with the flame's and also one again in the main Dining room. In the Bar, off to the side there is a Lovely little Bay sort room with a few tables and chair for drinkers its just Gorgeous and so cozy, sitting around the aged Bar is heaps of seating that also looked to be comfy high legged high backed chairs. Hanging around the bar is a beautiful collection old steins and mugs. The place as soon as you walked through the door had this incredible feel of walking back in time.
We then were asked if we wanted to sit at the bar or guided into the dining room. That room again had a beautiful feel and a firebox with lovely lighting, enough to eat by.

We were told about the specials by a waitress who really knew her stuff as it was lunch we decided to have a main to share as I had been sick beforehand and couldn't eat much anyway. One of the specials was beef cheeks with an amazing gravy, gnocchi and Brussels tops? OMG YUMM. I had always wanted to try beef cheeks anyway and what a way to begin. The meal was just SO good and we didn't want to leave a bite, we then asked the waitress for bread? so as not to leave any gravy, she then popped a homemade rosemary, garlic and Olive oil bread in the oven for us that should have been a started.
We were So impressed with this hotel that I am going to be making it my fav in Bendigo and would encourage anyone form near and far to try it when you visit our town.

The chef cooks everything herself from scratch, nothing is warmed, reheated, frozen apart from the necessary. It is well worth the wait for your meals, as they have had a few bad wraps before. But Seriously, If you want Fast food, go to maccas.

The Mount Edgecombe Hotel has So much history in Bendigo and the staff are happy to talk to you about it. It was a grocer/bar feeding all of the gold miners in town way back when the diggings were in town.

The meals you may think are a little on the pricy side, but what would you put on a good steak? I didn't see much on the menu above $30, Children's menu was $9.

They have a curry night on Tuesday night's for $17 and you can get to try a little of everything so I'm told, so I will be attending a few of those.

They have dining event's, so it might be a good idea to check the board when passing by. Upcoming....(check the date of this post), There is Lamb week up and coming and I'm a Huge fan of our Aussie lamb that is very hard to find served in Bendigo.

My personal Fav Pub/Bar is the Mount Edgecombe Hotel and I hope to see you all there at some stage.

Keep an eye out for their Facebook page when it is up and running as I'm sure there will be a what's happening @.
I know I will be.

Cheers My Friends. Come and Join me there for a drink.

Mr Peter Burt a Talented Eye Surgeon in Bendigo.

Operated on my partner removing cataracts and putting in inter-ocular lenses. His work was brilliant, My partner was incredibly scared, Mr Burt and his team put him at ease in no time. Mr Burt has been concerned about my partner for some time and has done everything in his power to restore sight to him with no avail.
It is not within Mr Burt's power to remove the infliction my partner has been troubled with for many years. All Mr Burt did was the best he could, and he did go above and beyond for him.

The car park is next to the surgery, there is always so may people in the waiting rooms on his appointment days, so it does pay to get there a little early.
The staff are great and will tell you if you have time to go and grab a coffee before being seen.

On our visit to the Island we were told about the Pelican's to go have a look before we headed home, its a great sight to be seen by all young and old alike.

At 12 on the dot the lady come's to feed the Pelican's with all of the cut off's from the fish Co-op, it is an amazing sight to see and they can get upto 90,100 pelicans at a time some-days and have been fed their for over 20years now. You can also Donate to the fund that nurses then back to helth after being hurt at sea.

BUT,,, The Chippy, Yummo, with great pack's available on offer, I chose from one of those as they looked to be great value. We had a Beer Batter whiting and a grilled seafood pack that came with a lovely side salad, it said for one, but the grilled basket would have fed the two of us with no problems.

Seats inside or outside to enjoy the fresh sea air. Heaps of parking, Credit Card friendly and the staff were really helpful.
They have also got little buzzers, so when you food is ready your not Yelled at!!

Go get your food, before the pelicans are fed though as the cue is huge after.

I Absolutely loved our stay at the Remada Resort and If I could afford it would go again, although it is even then still worth every cent. They do a Time share as well through oout the country that you could ask about, im sure someone there will get back to you.
The Staff are knowledgeable about the area and very friendly
We went for a 2 night stay bought via a group buying site, so check those out before you book to maybe secure a great deal.

Fully appointed self-contained villas that have everything you need to make it a perfect stay, down to a dishwasher. Comfy beds in the two bedroom villa's there are also others with spa's. On our arrival we received a bottle of wine + other things that came with our deal.

There is a restaurant, pizzaia, BBQ area, kids club, play ground and more all on site, drive through the 60h property to see everything you will ever need to make both the kids and yourselves happy.

Parking outside the office and drive along to your villa. Credit card friendly..

Enjoy

I was very happy to buy us pie's on our visit to Maldon one time during our visit to this sleepy little town on weekend it comes alive with people from all over the place.

The Pie's we took away and ate in the park around the corner. As there wasn't much left to choose from, and thats gotta be a good thing right? I found the service to be just fine as it should be the food smelled amazing and tasted just as good.

I bought a loaf of bread to take home that was lovely and even better a couple of days old for toast.

I have always founf the Bendigo Club to be Great Value and just keep going back.

Monday Night's is Family night, 2 anything on the menu for the adults, 2 childrens meals and a drink for them with a garlic bread all for $49.

They will be doing some renovations soon the manager told me and will be having more family Night's. I asked if they could have a Grandparents night as well. Also maybe they needed to put something in place for the bigger family's as there are still some around.
They will be getting rid of the reception area and moving the pokies for a more family feel And I do love that idea as our 6yr saw and then wanted to go play the games.

Love it. And because we keep going back I have decided to join their membership as you get a voucher for your Birthday that will give you the money paid out on membership anyway, so win,win all around

Home Made food made on site. Great friendly staff and reasonable price, what more can you ask for.

I bought yesterday 2 cake's to take home that were divine and great size slice's as well, I was very impressed with the creamy cheesecake. The menu all looked lovely and the food being bought out looked the same. A lot in for the lunch crowd so that in itself I thought was a good to see.

They take all cards and there is some parking out front also a disable spot if you're lucky near the public loo's as there is a supermarket across the road and a post office nearby.

I have been looking for a craft book I could only find in the USA. I found it on Fishpond.
They used to just sell new and secondhand book's but now seem to sell everything and it seems to be a little like ebay?

There are so many things on there you can buy that all seem to be great price's, I found the add did say if it was a secondhand one you were buying so you know what your getting.

The book I wanted was $45 everywhere else and I found it here for only $14, yes, JUST $14 INCLUDING POST!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep Post is or was that day free. But its always good to check.
Item's can be coming from the USA or within Australia. Mine came from within australia and was in as new condition, so I was really happy with it.
The only thing I wasn't happy with is that I ordered it and it was then posted 1 month latter and as I didn't know it was coming from within Aust, I did think as I had only ever found it in the USA anyway, it had been sent from there.
Rambling again Sorry Peeps.

Cheers happy hunting again :)

This review is for NQR Grocery Clearance Store, Kangaroo Flat VIC

I Find NQR have always been Cheap, they have great sale's on Brand name products.
I use to shop with them in Melb before they moved to Bendigo and was happy when I heard they were coming here.
Our NQR is on its way to have a revamp/extension and there is always something you can find along the grocery or cleaning line.
They have mostly Brand name's you have heard of and a lot you haven't. But if I see something new, I might buy one and give it a try asap, then go back into the store to buy more because if you don't you may never see it in there again.
They stock out of date, last run and change of label items again from a lot of the brands we have all heard of.

There is an online store and they do deliver to your door. I have never done this as I have one close by, But having said that, each store has different items, what they have online they may not have in a shop, so It can pay to sign up to their newsletter.
Our shore in Bendigo also has Wine, red and white and a few alcoholic mixers. I don't know if all stores have this and you are asked to see you licence unless you're mature aged like myself.

At our's there is a few disable parking spots close by and Heaps of parking.
They have their own shopping bags for 99c.

Happy Hunting... Because you never know what you're going to find in one of NQR shops other than a few great bargains.

Well worth every cent you pay and then some. The Tiny Penguins are so endearing as they waddle past you to find their homes in the scrub.

The people who work there are wonderfully helpful, accommodating and knowledgeable, they are happy to answer any questions you have.

You do need to be there to get great seats and Take a cushion as it is cold and the seats are hard as you are sitting for some time.

Inside there is a display about the penguin predators, habitat and everything about them. There is gift shops that are full of lovely things for you to remember your trip and all proceeds for to fund the center and habitats for the penguins.
We had our photo taken among the penguins inside the center, shot on a green screen and then superimposed into a beach seen, I loved it, it turned out really well.

Heaps of parking, there is a few disable parking spots, but if you are disable get there early as there is about 6 of them near the entrance. There is also for the disables a little cart that will take you to and from the setting if needed, also seating in the front that you can walk into that has rope across, so you do have to ask someone to allow you to pass please.

We bought a 3 parks pass = Koalas and Churchill Island Heritage Farm for one discounted price. Penguin Parade Experience.

It is also called a PIE pass and there is a few to choose from some get you onto a boat ride to see the seals, So choose carefully.
PIE = PHILLIP ISLAND EXPERIENCE
