I have always found them to be friendly and have what I need.

There's a great garden/outdoor section at one end and timber at the other.
The staff are friendly and helpful taking me to find what it is I need.
Heaps of parking and a cafe near the garden section.

Just on the corner out of town sit's this rustic old pub built prior to the 1900s.

Great pub food I had the Lamb cutlets that were done really well, unfortunately the gravy was all over the salad, but it wasn't the first time thats happened to me.
Meals are all reasonably priced and there is something for everyone, they even had vegetarian dishes.
It had a nice feel to it and had great service. The owner offered me a tab for lunch and drinks and I have never had that before so that impressed me a little.

Its the little thing's isn't it? that make you want to go back.

The Captain Cook has Changed hand's and the new owners Colin and Richard took over in February 2013.

The day we went, there was few ppl in the dining room, So I feel not a lot of people know that they have changed hands. The dining room had a nice feel to it with comfy chairs and the table's looked like old floorboards that had been sanded back and tricked up, they looked great and gave the place a homey feel I loved it. They are going to be doing some reno's, so I will look forward to going back to see the change.

The Food was tasty and fresh. I ordered the chicken schnitzel with a mushroom sauce, the salad was freshly made with a Balsamic dressing and came with homemade crispy chips. Colin came out the day we were there to make sure everything was ok with our meal.

There is three menu's, a lunch ranging $10 to $16.
Bistro menu with steaks from around the $22 to $26ish
Seafood they get in Fresh a couple of time's a week and was reasonably priced it made me wish I could eat seafood, starting at $14 Hervey Bay Scallops.
Entree size Morton bay bugs $16.

Cakewalk has Just opened up and has some table's for customers and their Coffee and CupCake. Cupcake's are a very reasonable $3.50. She also does custom made cake's to order.

YUMMO, there's a new flavour each day on the menu, if you suggest a flavour via facebook and if that is used then you get your first free, So WOOT!!! I'll give that a try.

We had the peanut and chocolate and it was Yum, so good, very rich we both loved it. There was not a lot to choose from when we got there at 4ish in the afternoon the cabinet looked a little empty.
The young girl who served me, had a huge smile on her face, I loved that as not enough ppl smile in customer service these days. All cupcake's are made fresh each day on the premises.

Her Facebook page's has some special's on and the flavour of the day, so I would recommend everyone joins her on Facebook.

Approximate cost: $3.50

This review is for Jin Yang Noodle Bar, Bendigo VIC

Have to be the best noodle bar in town. Well I think they are anyway.
The food is cooked fresh and there's always plenty of it. There is table's to eat in and a takaway.
I'm in love with their satay noodles. Its hard to get a parking spot near there on weekdays though unless you go after the rest of the shop's shut.

This review is for Thomas' Kitchen, Eaglehawk VIC

Recently opened in Eaglehawk in the old royal pub on the corner and is newly reno'd.

We had the Lemon Chicken and special fried rice, that had just the right amount of tang in the sauce for me and the rice was lovely. The satay we had was yummo, not hot and had nut's you could see in it.

The menu looked to have something for everyone on it. There's parking out back.

Ive driven past so many time's and decided to call in to try the chinese menu. We had the satay chicken and a sweet and sour, both were very tasty. The service was speedy.
There's a $10 main with special fried rice to choose from. It's a rather large serve.

The place was pretty full on the day we were there and all of the food looked to be the same size serve.

Friday and Saturday's are smorgasbord, $15 adults, $8 children

They have been in town a little while now and maybe settled in.
We found the coffee to be average, nothing to rave about. The cake's I thought were over priced and on the day we were there the one we chose was dry.
We went inside and were asked where we would like to sit, chose a place and the guy said he would be right back with menu's and never came back!! so I think it may have been the owner having lunch with her family ask if we were being taken care of, so she then looked after us.
On going inside to pay at around 3pm(ish), we didn't find the place to be that busy and didn't understand why the guy didn't come back to wait on us?

This review is for Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bendigo VIC

The Sacred Heart Cathedral should be on anyone's must see list when visiting Bendigo

Its beautiful Gothic architecture, paintings, statues and stain glass windows are a must see, also the grounds surrounding the Cathedral.

There is no fee to visit but I don't see any reason why people can't leave an offering if they wish. There are time's of worship here and we all need to be respectful of those when visiting.

This review is for Helen's Baby Wear, Eaglehawk VIC

Helen's has lot's of name brand's if your into those.
The service is great and they are very friendly people. Pram's, cots, Highchair's, Everything really you need for baby's.

I bought a secondhand child car-seat there for the grandchildren, he was lovely and fitted it totally for me. The car seat was a ex-rental, So I guess you can rent item's from them when you grand-kids come to visit, that will be very handy.

Heaps of parking entry via the carpark in the back of the shop, entry near the pub drive through
