This place has pretty good service! Products and prices are what you'd normally find at a Priceline.

Whenever I need to buy branded makeup, this is the site I check first! They don't have everything, but what they do have (and that's a lot) is super cheap and brand new!

We've been going to Tien Dat for quite a while now - before it made the cheap-eats guide! Great food, great prices, decent service (considering you're in Box Hill, that is) and it doesn't make you wonder if you'll contract something after eating there. Every time we go there are always multiple orders of broken rice (with the fried egg or with the lot which gives you a egg pate as well) and there's a reason for it - it's very, very, very good.

Approximate cost: $10-15

I think I must have been one of their first patients. When I went there for the first time, they had only set up shop there for about 2 weeks so it had an emergency set-up feel to it. My wrist has been giving me trouble and the physio I had was very good - she got right down to where it was tight and creaky pretty much from the get-go.

They have a 2for3 special at the moment - you pay for 2 sessions but you get 3! At $73 a session, I thought that was a pretty good deal. The only thing is the invoice the receptionist gave me didn't have any details on it so Medicare wouldn't have reimbursed me for much (if any), but I asked her to do it again with all the details and she did. So that was excellent - now I can claim half of it back!

Approximate cost: $73

First time there and I'm in no hurry to go back. The food is actually very good - I had their chicken terragon pie and it was delicious. However, when I was queueing to order and pay for my food, there was nary a hint of a smile on the waitress's face. I mean, c'mon - I might not look like a toorak mum but aren't I still a customer? The waitress who served us our food and the one who waited on our table (so that's 3 different staff in total) all looked like their job, and consequently us, were beneath them.

Bottom line: the food is great, but the bitter aftertaste is not worth the high prices ($15 for a pie? With no salad or anything else?). I'd take my money elsewhere where the staff can crack a smile.

Approximate cost: $15-20

We stumbled upon this video store one night in Richmond. We walked in and WOW! Walls and walls and walls of movies of every conceivable genre from every conceivable era.

The movies are very cheap - think $3 or $4 weekly rentals for non-current-blockbusters. The business has been there for the past 20 years or so (we chatted to the owner) so the collection they have is massive! The staff are all very knowledgeable about films so even if you can't remember the exact name of a film, just chat to them and chances are they'll know what you're talking about.

Approximate cost: $3-$4/video

We went there as a group of friends looking for dessert after dinner in the area. Looking at the place, we really didn't expect much, but in the end we were very impressed!

The service was fantastic - she was very attentive and very accommodating. The food was pretty good - the waitress said everything is made on-site so that scored quite a few points with us. For what they charge (not much at all), it's brilliant.

The place is pretty small and it's always packed. They don't take reservations so either go early or be prepared to wait. Whatever you do, don't go in a group of more then 6 because you most likely won't get a table for an hour.

The menu is rather small but everything is fantastic. The tacos are quite small - think entree sized. The burritos are great. We had the kangaroo which was perfect. The quesadillas were very good too - both the mushroom and chorizo ones. Everything is spicy there, as expected from a Mexican restuarant, but if you're really not up for spice, get the mushroom quesadilla. Or you can order the milk drink (first item on the drinks list - I can't remember what it's called) which is awesome.

Approximate cost: $15

We went there when it first opened. The coffee is fairly decent and the food was ok. The decor is really lovely (industrial chic) and not what you'd expect in that area.

I only went there for coffee (and some chips) with friends. The decor is funky and modern, and the coffee is ok. It's not bad at all, but it's also nothing to write home about (but worth writing about here!). The chips were very fresh and therefore quite excellent.

As a hangout place, it's pretty good - comfy cushions and chairs, good vibe. It's a good place to spend an hour or two catching up with friends over some coffee and chips.
