I booked over the phone for a pedicure for myself and a girlfriend (mani pedi for me) We arrived on time for our appointment waited 10mins and then were put in seat 1 and 4 with no one in the middle.
When i queried this i was told that they had had a flood and the middle seats were not working. i indicated i was disappointed as we had booked this as a fun girls catch up. The owner offered me a card with 10% off our next 'team' visit. Interesting........... beacuse the next thing that went wrong was that both seats massage didnt work. I felt ripped off. If they had been honest when i rang and said they were having a few issues with the chairs not working --- i could have made a decision. However, i was bare legged in water before i was informed. I wont be returning. The 10% off might have been a nice touch if it was for the lack of full service on the present visit NOT trying to lure me back. not happy at all.

We went this weekend for breakfast with a group of 5. The menu has a good selection and the prices are reasonable. They were understaffed and frankly the staff members we dealt with had a seriously bad attitude. It took 35mins for a drinks order to be taken, and we were there for over an hour before we got our coffees.....breakfast took 1.5hours (and it wasnt the leisuruly breakkie situation, it was becuase we were waiting for food!). The food that did come out was small in portions but nice enough. i would nt go back on a weekend....possibly during the week!?

I went there recently for my wedding anniversary. While quite pricey ($35++ for a main!) the food is amazing quality. I had the aged angus beef, delicious, hubby had the pork - yum! The desserts were incredible - try the crumble!!. An extensive wine list with something at every price range. Cosy and intimate.
The service was the let down. We arrived on time for our booking, however the table wasnt quite ready, and because the place is so small with no bar to stand at we had to stand in amongst seated guests for over 10 mins, moving out of peoples way who wanted to go the toilet or go outside. Then when we were seated, it took 30mins to be asked if we wanted a drink!! Grabbing our opputurnity we ordered drinks, entree and main on the spot. The main came out half an hour later, but no entrees. Cancelled the entree. When the bill came we were charged for 3 desserts, not two!!!
As i said, cosy, intimate and great special occasion place --- however the service was so frustrating that i wouldnt return based on that! Maybe try a quiter night (wed or Thurs?)

Delicious kway teow noodles. Great pictures of all dishes on the back wall (large pictures!) which is wonderful if you are a visual eater like me, i love to see as it often helps me make up my mind! All quick, fresh and fast on the spot. Wonderful

Fantastic pizza. Great quality toppings. They sell bread baked in the woodfire oven at certain times of the day (why go to a supermarket!!?!?) Service has been prompt and friendly, both dining in and take-away.

A hidden gem. This bistro is wonderful. Woodfire pizza, fantastic selection of Italian mains. They have special nights with great deals. Scrumptious food!

A great addition to the Thornbury cafe scene. The food is wonderful and delicious. It tastes like you are eating at a friends house and Nonna is in the kitchen whipping up scrumptious delights. The coffee is great and the breakfast is fantastic. try the ricotta scrambled eggs, heaven!!! light and fluffy. If you close your eyes and smell and then open them you could swear you were in Italy. Unpretentious, friendly and great value. I am reluctant to recommend the Osso Bucco as it is mindblowingly good and i dont want to share!!!! A friend of ours has opened this joint (disclosing as i am a true believer in only supporting and promoting the truth and it is a requirement on the review site which i totally agree with!!) It is a fantastic place, give it a go!!!!!

I was really excited to be dining here as i had heard many wonderful reviews. The food was delicious, a tad expensive for a local restaurant. The service was lack luster, disinterested and often just dumped in front of the closest person on the table. The green curry was wonderful and full of flavour. The Pad thai was a little too sweet for me. I wont return based on the service.
