Went here for a girls night recently and it was the perfect place to go for good food and a long chat. The meals were all good - two of had a salmon risotto and one had a caesar sald. To top it off, our waiter brought us a selection of cakes to share for dessert!

Approximate cost: $20

For our wedding, my husband and his four groomsmen hired their suits from here. We looked at a couple of other places but the quality seemed really cheap (I'm pretty sure these were wool suits here). Even though the store is not all that big, they had a good range to choose from and the fitting service seemed very thorough (they had Connie as a consultant). They also have nice wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses here too. In fact, I nearly purchased my wedding dress here but in the end decided that I liked one somewhere else a bit better.

Approximate cost: $153 per suit including v

I met up with some friends here for brunch on Sunday. As far as cafes go, it's fairly non-descript but it turned out to be a great place to catch up. The food and coffees were good and the freshly squeezed juices were excellent. I thought the staff were especially switched on - leaving us alone when we were talking and right there when we were after something. We were lucky to have the comfy seats up the front which was ideal as one friend had a pram and her baby.

This is a great place to share some drinks with friends. I've been here twice and both times the evenings started off quite subdued - and then gotten more and more merry as the night went on. Unfortunately, I haven't had the stamina to see what its like at the end! The music is loud enough to create a good atmosphere but not so loud that you can't talk. Inside there are plenty of big, comfy couches and dark corners. There's a large covered outside area with more couches and then room outside too. Perfect for a warm night.

This is a great place to get some unique childrens wear. I bought a gift here and was pleased to find that its not the usual boring stuff that you find at most places. Instead they've got some unusual and fun things - like the "AB-CD" t-shirt which looks like and AC-DC style, or the "Security" T-shirt for the mini bouncers. Also a good range of wraps and other gifty type things.

This is a really funky restaurant with a great atmosphere. It's not a cheap eat though - main meals between $30-$40 and wine quite expensive. Having said that though, the food we had was excellent. I had a salmon dish and my husband had steak - both of which were fantastic. The service was also excellent. Our water glasses were always filled the moment they were half empty.

Approximate cost: $30-40

This is one of my favourite places to go for brunch. I used to live nearby but unfortunately its now quite a long drive - but still worth it!! I always have the fruit pancakes - 3 fat pancakes topped with a berry / fruit compote, icecream and maple syrup - mmmmm. It's got a great atmosphere too. A fireplace for winter mornings and outdoors areas for times when its warm. They also do a full lunch and dinner menu although I haven't tried this (the menu looks good though).

I'd never heard of this place but a friend suggested we go there to catch up with some other friends with young kids. We were not disappointed - the kids loved it and the adults had a great time strolling around the beautiful grounds. They had a show on (at 2pm on a Sunday) where they showed the kids a sheep dog in action, shearing a sheep and feeding lambs. They also had a great nursery area where the kids could go and hold the young chickens and rabbits and pat the piglets and lambs. We bought the kids a bag of feed each and as we walked around they loved feeding all the different animals.

Approximate cost: $12 per adult or $30 for

Needing to buy a present for a 4 year old, I ducked in here after doing some shopping. Although it's a fairly small shop, it's jam packed from wall-to-wall with all kinds of toys and other stuff for kids. I felt pretty overwhelmed and didn't have a clue where to look but asked for help and was very pleasantly surprised. The lady asked a bit about who the present was for and then walked me through and pointed out probably 20 different alternatives. I'm not an expert on toys but a lot of the prices seemed very reasonable and they certainly had a lot of different types of things. I managed to get a few presents for different kiddy occasions coming up soon.

We weren't sure how to make best use of a very strange shaped room in our house so a family member recommended that we call Roberta. She came out to see us and spent a couple of hours tossing around ideas and drawing out sketches while her husband took measurements. A week or so later we visited her office and she had taken the ideas a step further and sketched them out in more detail.

The whole experience actually felt more like a discussion between friends than a professional relationship (in a good way!). We've now got a really clear idea of what we're going to do in the room and can feel confident buying the furniture and making the changes we need to make.
