Stay away .
Had an issue with a roof truss . Main HEAVY LOAD beam failed. Ceiling was sagging down about 15cm and was about to collapse . Called Clarendon home. Anthony came , inspected and addressed the issue to trussmaster company . They turned up and did inspection as well . Put jacks to support it . Answer from Clarendon home was : “ Everything as per design and no builder mistake . We can’t cover this under warranty because you are the second owner “.
I thought “ bad luck” and called my friend builder to fix it. After they opened it up , we discovered that main heavy load beam , which takes load of nearly the whole roof, was made of two pieces, joint with gangnail plate. So it’s actually failed where joint is . Clarendon home guys even did not notice that . They thought it’s a full span beam and just got warped over the time . My builder told me he never saw such a dangerous installation for 30 years of his experience.
It was definitely engineering fault and supervisor did not pick it up.
I contacted Clarendon home again . And guess what .... The same answer :” it’s not our fault, everything as per design”.
Our roof was about to collapse and no brainer, for obvious reason . Main beam was wrongly installed .
It cost me more than $10000 to fix it . But it’s not about money . It’s about SAFETY and QUALITY. And of course - responsibility. None of those Clarendon home has . At least in my case .
So my strong advice is STAY AWAY from Clarendon homes .
