a nice place to hang out with a few friends for desserts when your sweet tooth comes calling! it opens till late and has an impressive variety -- just don't expect it to be as good as they come in HK or TW, but it still pretty much hits the spot :) the cold desserts are better than the hot ones.
The lunch specials are a good way to sample their offerings and we really like them because the chef is Thai and the dishes taste authentically Thai and are sufficiently spicy. Definitely one of the better ones in the city :)
this is a BBQ place, so be prepared to walk out smelling like what you (or others around you) just ate :)
that said, the people were friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. however, this place can get pretty noisy when busy or when large groups come in for a long-ish dinner.
A good strong coffee with a pie -- you can't go wrong with that on a day you feel like a snack or a light lunch :)
Just go for the coffee and baked goods. They are sure to please! :)
I had a sandwich with salad once on a Friday night and the food took a star out of my rating for quality.
A smallish cafe/restaurant offering Viet food that isn't authentic in taste. We tried 2 vietnamese staples and found the broth in the pho and fried rice very lacking. Service is good and wait staff friendly. A real shame.
I really don't see what the fuss is about this space! I haven't been tempted to go back for a full meal after a not-so-nice experience for cakes and coffee. The wait staff I had the misfortune of encountering was staring blankly at me when I asked what coffee they served or if they have a special coffee (I'm not from Canberra or Australia) and had an unfriendly and smirking expression saying they have the usuals, you know, coffee. That's rude!
I had a friend with me and we shared 2 slices of cakes that weren't impressive either. Won't be back for sure.
The best australian chocolate in town :)
Service is a slow: from indoor seating to getting your orders to the table... but hey, if you have time to spare and you like chocolate, this is the place to indulge in some seriously wicked chocolate!!
Breakfast is unreasonably expensive here, although lunch is very good value (and hence the 4 stars)! Everything else is satisfactory. I hate that my cellphone loses its connection when I dine inside, so sit nearer the door if you are waiting for a call.
My favourite cafe on-campus in Hedley Bull Centre, hands down.
Cosy ambience, friendly service, yummy food and great coffee!!
